Fit on CCW’s…

Caught some shots of this Fit today….Yes there has been alot of Fit’s lately…Why? Cuz I wish I had one. It’s also well documented that I am broke though. And if I had one, I would probably find some way to make that thing totally undriveable….But I digress….CCW Classics pretty much look good on anything so of course it would fit this uhh…FIt. Enjoy.

Honda’s at Sema 2008 Part Random Update…

Here’s some more shots I was able to find from Sema. Someone requested more pics of the Tjin Edition Fit and here they are…

Peanut-butter interior…good contrast with the pastel colored exterior…

I honestly might have went with a different wheel set-up but they’re at Sema and obviously, I am not. Or else I would have been able to supply you with shots of cars from my handheld. Of course they would blurry as all hell like if I was running while taking the pictures and there is a chance that you might see the tops of people’s heads getting in some of my shots…

Here’s a shot at Konig’s new wheel. I think it’s called the Konig “AlookIstolefromtheearly 90′s”, in an attempt to cash in on the current old school wheel trend. Now guys can go to meets and compare lip sizes between these and the Axis “OG” wheels. Oh and the Drag wheels. I didn’t mention Rota cuz they’re busy cashing in on the concave wheel look. =P

…and here’s some more shots of the EK that was in the Konig booth. Nice and clean….

The license plate is fitting seeing how he’s in the Konig booth….haha….

Nice bay set-up….looks like it’s never even been turned on…

That’s it for now….

Honda’s at SEMA 2008 Part 2…

Here’s some more images of Honda’s that were present at SEMA 08. Honda barely made a presence at this year’s show. Of course as expected, it was dominated by the new Nissan GTR and Dodge Challenger. The lack of a Honda presence most likely has to do with the lack of corporate backing. The big name tuner companies are all headed in a different direction and pumping money into newer makes and models. A majority of the better Honda builds have come from owners who fund their own projects. It’s almost a welcome change because Honda owners are headed back to the stage where they originally started: in the garage. I personally love garage built cars over shop-built/sponsored cars. I think it adds more character to any build as well as a more involved sense of ingeniuity. People in general tend to respect a garage-built show stopper over any shop-built project. That’s how it started and that’s how it is meant to be. It’s no real knock on sponsored/company-backed vehicles, but doing your own thing makes it more of a hobby. When you get a car, you want to “make it your’s”, not pay for someone to “make it their’s”, you catch my drift? Anyway, more pics, less jibber-jabber…

Amuse widebody w/hardtop….looks pretty sweet. Wheels on the other hand, bleh….but it’s probably there because of the wheel company…Like those deals where you roll in and ditch the wheels immediately afterwards? Haha…I’ve known a couple of people from my old crew that used to do that.

And a Pilot….

Sema 2008 Announcements: Honda Civic HFP Concept…

Announced at SEMA is this HFP Civic Concept that has it’s eye on being environmentally friendly. How friendly? Well like a drunken house party reach-around friendly, or something to that degree. I don’t even know what that means, let’s see what Honda has to say….

PRESS RELEASE

“Honda also revealed a Civic Honda Factory Performance (HFP) Concept sedan that represents a new approach on performance improvement. With more consumer concern about fuel prices, future customers may want to maximize the performance of their vehicles without compromising fuel economy. Honda Access America, Honda’s accessory development company, took on that challenge. Through aerodynamic improvements to the next generation HFP body kit, super-light alloy wheels with aerodynamic covers, a lighter HFP exhaust system and an upgraded HFP suspension kit, this concept offers the possibility of improving both fuel economy and performance. In fact, a very similar package has proven its worth on the race tracks of Japan on the Civic Type R race car, which campaigned in a spec series called the Super Taikyu Series.”’

I wanted to do something like this to an FD2, just get a hybrid and then do the full Type R conversion and leave the guts of it the way it is. Apparently Honda caught wind of this idea and then decided to make my dream a strangely disturbing reality….

I mean, it doesn’t look bad overall. The aerodynamic wheel covers would probably last two days in California before it gets stolen and ends up on some high school kids car. You can call it “Honda Factory Performance” but I think that if these ever make it into production, they would probably end up in the hands of some 40+ year old woman. Or a filipino dad…yeah I said it.

Cluster is a nice touch….

Here’s a close-up of the wheels so Rota can get an early start on them…

WTFLOLBBQ? Kuhmo introduces Ultra-Low Profile 15 series tire…

Hmm…this probably isn’t exactly Honda-related because I doubt I’ll ever see a 385/15-22 tire on a Honda but it is worth mentioning…

KUMHO LAUNCHES WORLD’S FIRST 15 SERIES TYRE

Ever the innovator, Kumho is launching the world’s first ultra low profile 15 Series tyre at the 2008 SEMA (Speciality Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas this week (November 4-7).

The 385/15ZR22 size ECSTA SPT KU31 has been developed as a conversion option for such exotic sports cars as the Ferrari F430, Dodge Viper, and Corvette Z06.

The company has used cutting-edge computer simulation technology to optimise the sidewall structure, thereby preventing the formation of standing waves or ripples in the contact patch – a problem that can occur with the build up of heat at high speeds.

The new tyre also benefits from a semi run flat capability, ensuring it remains firmly fixed to the rim even after a puncture or general loss of pressure.

“The world’s first 15 Series tyre is a perfect example of what we have achieved through our ongoing commitment to research and development,” said Sae-chul Oh, Kumho’s President and CEO. “This is one of many innovations by our company which include aroma, coloured smoke and X-speed tyres. We will maintain our position at the cutting edge of tyre technology as we race towards our goal of becoming one of the world’s top five tyre makers.”

Uhh…what? 15-series? Are they gonna run some sort of Jesus-suspension? I’m running stretched 35′s right now and they’re not exactly the most comfortable ride. I’ve rode in cars with 30-series before and that’s no fun either. I guess I don’t really mind the ride but damn…15-series? That’ll have the sidewall of one of those Armstrong “Live Strong” bracelets. Says they’re made especially for Ferrari’s, Vipers and Z06 vettes but I’m pretty sure the majority of them won’t run Kuhmo tires, and/or 22′s for that matter.

I don’t have anything against Kuhmo…In fact I have some on my daily, but my daily isn’t a Ferrari or a Viper. It’s more like a Ferrour-Runner….and the alignment is total ass and my Kuhmo’s seem to be wearing pretty well. So I gotta give them some credit….But if I had a Ferrari I wouldn’t run a 15-series tire. I want the best ride possible because I’ll be smoking my hookah and I don’t want my silk pants to catch on fire. And I don’t want my gold dookie chain irritating my neck from all the vibration either….

Honda’s at SEMA 2008…

Well with SEMA going on this week, this means I got plenty of stuff to tell you about. Well not really. SEMA is flooded with other makes and models this year and Honda doesn’t seem to have as big of a showing compared to the new GTR, Toyota’s fleet of cars, IS-F’s, and Challengers. Even so, I’ve included some of the images I’ve found so far of Hondas that are present at this year’s show…so far….

N1 Concepts brought their S2000 out for display rocking J’s Racing aero…

Also outside was BC’s time attack C-West S2000…

Inside in the Honda area was Galpin’s (GAS) Honda Accord coupe. Weird to see them putting a Honda together and not putting like ice cream machines into buses or whatever but it came out pretty cool. Looks like one of those Jadatoy’s toy cars….

You can also spot the Tjin Edition Fit in the background…

I bet you inside there’s like some sort of 65-inch TV screen or some kind of mechanism that allows you to make hamburgers with wheat bread….or maybe that dood with the spikey ass hair is hiding in there with a power drill… =P

Opak showed up of course with one of their Spoon racecars and this would be their FD2 Civic…

Over at the Konig booth was this clean EK w/K-swap. Looks like it’s turbo’d by Peak Boost but I can’t confirm. Also has some new Konig wheels that look like old skool Gale’s wheels without the centercap…. =P

ALERT! I can now confirm that this EK is indeed a K-turbo because I am stupid and did not bother to look at the second pic before I typed…

K-Sport had their Honda Integra Type R on hand….

I want to comment here but I can’t help but be distracted by the giant in the background.

That’s all I’ve found from day of Sema, hopefully more Honda stuff pops up….All I’ve been seeing is crazy ass trucks and Challengers….

Tjin Edition 09′ Fit at SEMA 08

The Tjin brothers are at it again with another new vehicle to add to their fleet of Tjin Edition projects. This is their 2009 Fit that will be making it’s debut at SEMA this week.

The Fit sits on coilovers courtesy of Function and Form Autolife and unlike their other projects running One-Lug wheels, this Fit will roll on BBS RS wheels. RS’s seem to be the popular wheel choice among Honda owners right now so it’s fitting (no pun intended).

Like all their other demo cars, this fit is draped in a pastel hue. I’ve always been a fan of this look and it’s a signature of their’s and makes their projects easily recognizable.

The inside features full peanut-butter colored interior and custom Realm Audio sound system.

Make sure to check out Urban Racer for more info on this Fit. I’m scrounging around for all the Honda SEMA coverage I can find so stick around as I will be updating as I see stuff. I wish I coulda went but financially, it’s just not a very good idea too…haha…

J’s Racing TSX (CL9) front….

I say “TSX” because J’s seems to be developing this new front end for the US-Spec Accord Euro R judging by the “A” emblem up front. Not a bad looking bumper at all but some will probably complain about the fact that it has a Pontiac-like front grille and  the big “A” emblem…Looks good to me. The bottom section resembles the FD2 front bumper also. Oh looks like they incorporated the OE foglights too, a nice touch….

Looks like Heeltoe is the first place to be able to get these and even they are informing people to hold off until they can get some more info on it…..

Spoon NSX-R GT Completed…

I showed you guys the video a week or so (scroll down) of a video I found of the Spoon NSX-R during one of it’s final shakedown runs. Well I was able to find images of the now completed NSX-R GT and wanted to share them with you….Sorry about the quality, but I didn’t take them… =P Have a good one, SEMA is next week!

Here is a shot of it before it was completed and in it’s test phase during the I  Honda event a month or so back…

Here are the first completed shots of it during final shakedown runs…Looks alot better than the original Spoon NSX =P ….
