Stuff and stuff….
Man you guys are disgusting…did everyone really have to click on the naked auntie pics like 120 times? That’s fucking disturbing haha… at least the other 90% decided against it but for the unlucky 10%, I hope the next time you squeeze off some knuckle children you picture auntie looking at you seductively…
Anyways, I didn’t get much time to do anything major today but I have been working on some stuff for the Eibach meet. The stickers are coming and I’m having a larger batch made. That’s why some of you that ordered them within the past 2 weeks or so haven’t received anything yet. I promise they are coming. I’m also gonna make a batch of t-shirts too but I’m not sure how many to make. The design will be relatively simple but I’m still working on a finalized version. It would be nice to get a headcount of how many people actually want to pick one up and help me rep even if you’re not attending Eibach. I’m looking at around $15 per shirt so if you’re interested, please let me know what size you want and I’ll try to make sure you get one. Otherwise, I’m just gonna sell them outright and I can’t guarantee that I’ll have your size available…
Thanks to everyone that’s been so supportive in keeping this shit going….
If you read the post yesterday, my homie Chris Sullivan is still searching for someone or a group of someones to roll down to Eibach with from Norcal. I think he’s had a couple people hit him up but nothing is definite yet. If you want him to roll with you guys and want quality shots of your cars in the process, make sure to let him know soon. You can either hit me up on here or the thread on NWP4LIFE. He doesn’t even need a ride back to Norcal because he’ll be taking off on his own from LAX.
For those of you lazy to read everything above:
1. Stickers are coming, just waiting on my sticker guy to make a big batch.
2. Shirts are coming soon for $15. If you want one, let me know what size you are and I’ll make sure I have your size available.
3. 120 clicks on the auntie pics….really? Yikes…
4. Chris still needs a ride down from Norcal to cover Eibach trip for S3 magazine as well as the Chronicles.
Get it? Got it? Good….
Help me help you…help me?…

Okay so here’s the situation…As we all know, the annual Eibach meet is coming up on May 17th. I of course will be there to cover it all and probably help park cars and what not but I also got a buddy who’s coming out from Chicago as well to take pics for S3 magazine and for his own portfolio. He’s never been down to Socal so this will be the first time he’s ever had a chance to see what real (joking kinda) built Hondas look like. He’s gonna be flying out to Norcal to visit his lady friend for a couple days or some shit and he plans to come down in time for Eibach. Now this is the kicker. Chris Sullivan aka “The Blizzard Man” aka “My Ass is Haunted” is gonna help S3 mag as well as The Chronicles document the roadtrip down to Socal from the north. So I need someone or a crew or whatever from up north to have him ride with you guys so that he can document the trip from you’re guys perspective. So not only do you get to have a white guy in the car with you for 7 hours, you’re also gonna get a bit of exposure for your trip. He’s gonna be able to photo-document your cars, you’re wild adventures, random shit you guys do, whatever. All you gotta do is allow him to sit in the passenger side or any open window really so that he can get some rolling shots and what not. You don’t even have to bring him home with you because he’s flying back to Chicago from LAX…
Oh and if you’re wondering he’s no scrub when it comes to photography, he’s actually pretty good at what he does. You don’t have to listen to him tell you about how great he is either cuz he’s actually kinda humble and just talks about all the filthy dirty stuff that happens at club events that he covers…

See, not bad right? He’s good at shooting people too, here’s a shot he took of a girl who I aptly named “ROBOT TITS”…

Scary…

Don’t worry, this isn’t him…He’s much more white and talks like a black dude….
Here’s his flickr page if you want to see more
So that’s the deal…if anyone wants to help out, please either let me know, or post up in this thread over here….
Don’t worry, he’s not dangerous. If you don’t like him just throw his camera out the window and leave him in the middle of nowhere. I guess then I would have to pick him up and I would be pissed about that. So don’t throw him out unless you feel like it’s absolutely necessary.
Oh speaking of photoshoots, someone (Dut) passed this along to me randomly today. It was a “photoshoot” that a member on MBonline did with what looks to be a filipino auntie….haha….oh man…there are so many more pictures but they are fucking baaaddddd….It was just too funny not to pass along. It’s definitely NWS but I blurred out the well…I can’t call them goods cuz it looks rather cheesy in the snook if you know what I’m saying…haha…I don’t understand how this shoot went down or why it did, but it ended up on the net and now you get to enjoy it…I laughed for a good 20 minutes after I saw these pics. Not laughing like giggling cuz I saw a naked girl but just because this chick looks like she hangs out at the Trophy Lounge in National City, Calif. Those of you not from San Diego and who are not familiar with the Trophy Lounge, it’s basically like a bar/club that’s filled with filipino cougars and old navy wives who need dick. It’s not a pretty sight. I once went as a joke with some friends because the place is legendary and I remember the moment I walked in, the first thing I saw were two old filipino ladies drinking wine. At that point I knew the stories of that place were true….. Anyways, here’s the pics…

I’m just gonna link the other two…cuz I don’t think you guys are down to look at the rest of them haha…
Gotta love the bruised up yams son!…
Where’s that hood ornament going?!!
If you want the uncensored pics, feel free to hit me up…redicule and humiliation will ensue though, I promise you….
JTuned x Falken Tire Super Meet…

I really didn’t hear much about the JTuned meet last Saturday until maybe a couple days before. It wasn’t really advertised much and I didn’t hear any real hype about it so I was undecided on whether or not I wanted to drive all the way out to Rancho Cucuamonga. My homie Billy with the Laguna Seca Blue IS hit me up about going and I hadn’t seen his ass in awhile so I decided to go out and shoot the shit. I don’t know what it is about the 10 freeway but it always seems to suck major dick and I always have to spend an added 20-30 minutes in traffic anytime I have to use the 10 to get anywhere….

When I arrived at the huge parking lot inside UTI, half the lot was still empty and I mostly saw vendors with cars scattered throughout. The first car I saw rolling through was Carlos’ 4-door Civic….

Right across from the Eibach tent was the Torco booth. Big Mike’s Prelude was posted up next to Bisi’s race car. The Dickies resevoir covers are a nice touch I must admit haha…

After talking to Big Mike for like 2 hours and 30 minutes, I walked over to the Auto Fashion booth. Freddie brought out his big ass truck and a couple other cars to support Falken Tire…

Falken was auctioning off all kinds of random shit. It was actually kinda cool….

People were buying old bodykit pieces and hoods for like $10 bucks. From what I saw and heard, people were just buying stuff for the hell of it. They didn’t even own the cars that the aero pieces were made for. Guess it was cool to have as memorabilia or something…

I got to see the 5Zigen Accord Euro-R race car in person for the first time and this thing was crazy….

Norman and the Streetlightz guys were present and brought out a couple of the homies cars to represent. Turns out that Norman and Alexisthemovie had an extra Rota slipstream laying around. If you guys didn’t read the post a couple days back, I was looking for one that I could fuck with and turn into a Rotamaster EMO. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. They said it was all jacked up and shit too….exactly the way I wanted it haha…

This S2000 belongs to Stanley Ku from The Ku Cars. He’s got a pretty cool blog and he’s got a nice fleet of cars too. I think he owns a R34 GTR as well. His blog is one of the ones I check regularly like the JDM EGO blog.

Saw this VIP-styled Fit. Nice stance along with what I think is a Ken Style kit…Would look sick on air but what do I know, I can’t even afford that shit myself…

Really nice NSX…the guy you see with the blurred face is DAVID with a CD Accord. Fool is blatantly trying to get his face on my shit so everytime I see him from now on I’m gonna blur that fool’s face. Now his face looks like a coochie from a japanese porno…just as hairy too…haha…

First time I’ve ever seen this hatch. Not sure what to call the color but it was definitely bright. The inside and cage are all done the same color as well so it definitely stands out from every angle. The K-swap and ITBs aren’t really anything to look past either….

This NSX was hammered. Not like a borderline 21-year-old female at her first frat party but it was sitting nice on some Gram Lights…

Saw this NSX before at the Cars and Coffee NSX day from awhile back. The wheel fitment has me kinda worried. Everytime I see an NSX with big wheels on it the front always looks like it’s rubbing dangerously near the wheel well. Looks really weird cuz the wheel doesn’t even look centered….Guess it’s due to the width and overal sizing of the wheel up front. Guess that’s why they recommend staggered sizing front and rear…

That was about it as far as Hondas go. Overall the event was kinda small but the quality of the cars were pretty decent. I walked around a bit more and glanced at some stuff that Garage Boso was selling and got to see Ross Petty’s drift car in person for the first time. Love that thing. The rasta colors, graphics, etc…
I just hung out with some homies after that. A couple I hadn’t seen in a while so I had alot of catching up to do. It was a chill meet. Would have been better if it wasn’t so damn far but that’s just how it is….
Might as well throw up another non-honda shot…Kinda related I guess, file it under, “cars that are lower than Joey’s”…

I’m out…
DPK*David’s Birthday BBQ…

I’m baaack….Sorry guys, had a couple things to take care of during the end of the week so I didn’t get a chance to jump on here and say anything. It was a pretty eventful weekend though. I had some free time on Saturday so I actually went over to the JTuned meet out in Rancho Cucuamonga and it was kinda small. I took a few pictures but since it was DPK David’s birthday yesterday and he had a little meet/bbq get together, I figure I would show you the pics from that first. It was the guy’s birthday afterall so it should get the nod ahead of a meet out in the middle of nowhere….

We headed out to El Dorado park around 11:30 or so and thought we were late. David said something about it starting at 11 or something so we expected a group by then. Of course when we arrived no one had shown up yet. We saw Gump, Black Pie, HeyMikeyyyy, and Tina there and David’s girl was about to take off to go get more goods. David had gone home I guess to get ready (take a dump), so we basically showed up to hold the spot and wait for peeps to arrive. Black Pie was hungry and took off with Gump to go get In-and-Out so it was basically just the HotStuff/PhazexDoods! crew hangin’ out. Sid was there earlier but realized that it was a meet and drove all the way back to Eagle Rock to go get his DA….

No real cars out there besides our’s and Gump’s daily Element on TEs….

David came back as well as Pie and a couple others and we got the grill going. I don’t know where Mikey got the grill from but it looked like a morgue table. David bought like 3 bags of charcoal but didn’t bother to bring anything to start a fire with so we ran around for a little bit before we found 3 old matches….

The hamburger patties ended up being pretty good despite any kind of seasoning. I guess the old shit from the previous bbq Mikeyyyy had did the job and flavored the patties….

We put some fried shit on top of the meat and told Black Pie it was fried chicken…

…and he didn’t hesitate to mash on it…

After he finished eating, he took off like a maniac and didn’t tell anyone he was leaving…

…then Black Pie returned with…well…a pie.

More people started to show up as the day progressed. The car that attracted the biggest crowd was a DC that belonged to David’s friend…

It was definitely an attention-grabber because of the gold-dipped Work RS Betas…

…the huge intercooler up front…

…and the big ass turbo.

I rarely get to see anything really new nowadays since we go to so many meets and events. The only time you really see anything you’ve never seen before is at the bigger annual shows but it was cool to see something different at a smaller meet like a bbq. This thing was a beast, sounded nasty rolling up and when it took off as well…

I always try to get a shot of Carlos/Mugen Boy’s 4-door everytime I see it. It’s so clean and white that it hurts my eyes just staring at it. It’s come a long way since the first time I saw it when I met up with him to sell him a head unit. Damn, that day it didn’t have anything on it other than a set of BBR Comps I think…

Salem and his gang arrived fashionably late as usual….When I say “fashionably” I mean “4 hours” and when I say “late” I mean, and everyone was getting ready to go home“…

I ran into Big Mike the day before at the JTuned event (Coverage coming tomorrow) and it’s a good thing I did because he didn’t even know the bbq was on Sunday. He thought it was going on the same time as the JTuned meet and almost missed out on kickin’ it with the homies…

His car is never gonna be done but he did manage to get everyone together for a good time. Once everyone showed up and stuffed themselves with meat and chips, it was time to cut the cake…

Everyone sang him a song and wished him a happy bday…

…David cut the cake with a plastic fork handle and we all had cake.

Overall it was a great time. Weather was perfect, turnout was good…not too many people, not too little, everyone was fed…good times. It was definitely a success. Once again, Happy Birthday to David and thanks for inviting us out to celebrate and grub with you guys…
Just two things…

Just got two quick things for you guys today. Evasive Motorsports has a couple of sketches of some new Voltex pieces that are coming soon for the S2000. I can honestly say that I like it alot. Nothing too overboard and the style is strictly Voltex….

The rear diffuser piece looks pretty crazy. The ends of it look more like something that would go on the front. Very interesting. Man I wish I could draw like that. Shoulda stayed in art school…

If they stick to this design, I’m pretty excited to see what it looks like when it comes to fruition. Almost gonna be as exciting as when I head back to SD to get a burrito. Since I moved up here I swear I haven’t been able to find mexican food like back in SD. Don’t get me started on Chipotle either, that shit ain’t mexican food. The tacos are good I’ll admit, but anytime you decide to make a “burrito” that’s 85% rice, it shouldn’t be called a burrito. You know what belongs in a burrito? Uhh… meat…and maybe some uhhh meat, and maybe some cilantro and guacamole. Even fries occcassionally if it’s a California Burrito. Not corn, not beans, not rice. Unless I order a bean corn rice burrito. Anyways, Voltex yeah….can’t wait…
On to the other item of the day…

Ahh….finally, someone’s done it right. Some guy on Honda-Tech came up with the brilliant idea to make sure everyone knows that he’s faking the funk. According to him, from a distance, they look exactly like TE37s but when you look at it up close, it clearly says “WEAK AS HELL” and “ROTA KNOCKOFFS”….I love it, haha…If you’re gonna rock it, rock it with pride. You got some fake ass shit, make it known….Funny thing is the owner had Work lugnuts on it. Lugnuts almost cost more than the wheels!…

Damn, if anyone has a spare Rota Slipstream laying around, I swear if you send that shit to me, I’ll go and make a Rotamaster Emo out of it and bring that shit with me to shows and shit..haha. Maybe I’ll hang it on my tow hook or some shit and weld a turbo to it….

You’re not down!
An indepth look at horrible ideas…Part 7…The D-I-Y Fail…

Some people just shouldn’t work on cars, plain and simple. Today we’re gonna look at some of these individuals and their attempts at masterful fabrication. If you find yourself saying “Oh shit, that’s a picture of me”….then you need to stop working on cars. Most of these aren’t even really Honda-related. I just thought it’d be interesting to show you guys. I gotta warn you though, some of them are pretty disturbing and one almost made me want to throw up even. Why? I don’t know, afterall it’s just metal…it just looks like rotten hamburger meet or some of those images they show you in school that teach you about STDs and shit. It’s bad….Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

Something tells me that this isn’t just a mock-up….Ugh…so many things about it that just screams failure…

This is the one that kinda makes me wanna yack…looks terrible…the turbo is even welded to the makeshift manifold. I use the term “welded” quite loosely too. Almost seems like it was involved in a car fire or something…

What the fuck….

I can’t really even tell what’s going on with this set-up….

Autozone muffler used as a plenum fail….How do people come up with this shit….sad…

Uhh….

Haha…just…might…work…

I don’t know what to say really, haha. Guess it’s not really an “indepth look”. The pictures kinda speak for themselves. Makes you a big worried about what the world is coming to when people attempt these things and actually think that they will work. Writing this up actually reminds me of a time when I used to see people selling turbo kits on Ebay made out of PVC piping. I actually think I saw a pvc turbo kit in person when I went to a local car meet way back during the street racing days. I kinda wonder what people are thinking when they are taking pictures of this kind of stuff. Are they really proud of the work and now that these pics have made the rounds all over the net, where are they now… Hopefully they’ve faced glorious amounts of ridicule and shame….

Until tomorrow kids…out.
Exclusive First Look at Sportcar Motion’s entry into the Castrol Syntec Top Car Challenge…

You know I’m always bringing you world exclusives at The Chronicles…okay, not really. I pretty much just bring you pictures from meets, dirty perv stuff, and shit I’m mad at. For many of you, this will be the first time you’ve had a chance to see this Civic. This is Sportcar Motion’s entry into the Castrol Syntec Top Car Challenge….

For those of you unfamiliar with the competition, it’s a challenge that pits Honda Tuning, Super Street, Import Tuner, Modified, Euro Tuner, and Lowrider magazine against eachother. The twist is that the cars competing won’t be built by the respective magazines but by someone that is chosen to represent the mag. Loi Song and Sportcar Motion will represent Honda Tuning. Who better to represent the magazine of the Honda Community than a Redline Time Attack champion and record holder right?…

The challenge is similar to the now-defunct Ultimate Street Car Challenge. Not only will it include time attack and 1/4 mile battles but also other events such as trap speed, horse power, power-to-weight ratio, endurance, braking, and even emissions testing. The key to this competition is to find a car that’s not only a beast on the track but also relatively streetable and reliable in rush-hour traffic. In fact, the cars will actually have to sit in rush hour traffic and go from one destination to another just to prove that it can actually hang with the common folk who sit angrily in L.A. traffic everyday. Definitely an interesting overall competition. Now more on the car…

The first thing you probably noticed in the pictures was the intercooler. Unlike Sportcar’s other shop vehicles in the past, this one will not be naturall aspirated. Thanks to Kraftwerks and Skunk2 Racing, not only will it be another monster K built by Sportcar, but it will also feature a prototype K-supercharger kit…

If you found yourself looking around for a turbo or s/c after you saw the first couple pics, you won’t spot it right away because the Rotrex S/C sits under the intake manifold and alternator. I was told that this is actually the biggest S/C that Rotrex has to offer. The previous K in the Redline Time Attack winner was hovering under the the 300hp range all motor so one can already imagine how much this one will make with a supercharger…

Can’t really divulge too much information on it because it’s still not complete yet but it will have alot of prototype Skunk2 stuff that hasn’t been released. Above is one of the first Skunk2 composite fuel rails to be used in well, anything…Why composite technology?…
Skunk2’s new cutting-edge composite fuel rails are made using our proprietary carbon impregnated aerospace thermo-polymer composite. This material insulates the fuel from both radiant and conductive heat transfer under the hood. Keeping the fuel cooler results in an increase in horsepower and torque. We have seen power gains of up to 3% in real world testing. Skunk2 composite fuel rails feature a large 0.625” internal bore with radius inlets to the injectors thus improving flow characteristics. This type of radius injector inlet design is not possible with extruded and drilled aluminum fuel rails (which have sharp angles internally where the main bore meets the injector bores). Skunk2 fuel rails can be used with factory fuel lines and fuel regulators.-courtesy of Skunk2

New stuff is being added everyday as the event draws closer. These are all in-progress pics and they’re not in any particular order so if you see something that’s different here and there, it’s because they’re just different pictures that Loi has been sending over to me. I’m excited to see the finished product and I might even head down there sometime this week to check it out…

These Wilwoods just arrived a day or so ago and they supposedly clear smaller wheels like 15s and what not too. Should be interesting to see if that is true or not. If it does, I imagine they would be a pretty snug fit….

Here is how the Civic sits as of now. Loi didn’t really mention he had a J’s Racing front lip so I was surprised to see him running something that wasn’t made out of plywood..Looks really aggressive with the canards and that Kraftwerks intercooler poking out of the bumper.
I’ll try to update you guys on the progress whenever I hear anything about it. I gotta pick up some stuff from Loi as well so sometime this week I’ll be able to get a closer look at it….
Rosewood Royale “BBQ” Meet…

Headed over to the Rosewood Royale meet that Norman from AS1 put together. You notice I put “BBQ” in quotes because their was no barbeque. Not because they flaked on it of course. The Carl’s Jr. in the same lot made it impossible for them to get the permit to have a BBQ on the lot so it was basically just a meet minus the meat. I think that’s what happened anyway. Norman was telling me about it but I was distracted by the heat. It was just way too hot to listen. It probably hit like 90 something today easy….

I kinda had a feeling I wasn’t gonna get to eat anything even if their were a bbq because typically that’s how it works at meets. So May, Ojay, and I went to go get some Dim Sum in the morning. I was still pretty tired because I stayed up until like 6:30am watching the replay of the UFC 97 event. We headed out around 10:30 or so and then grubbed for a bit before heading over to Rosewood…
I’m not gonna lie to you, I really didn’t take that many pics just because it was so fucking hot. Majority of the time I was just trying to find shade while talking to everyone and what not. The pics aren’t great either but that just goes with the norm around here, haha. There were alot of nice S2000s around but they left before I could get anything….

I did however run into Nancee from AS1′s S2000. It’s really coming up and looking better everytime I see it. And that’s not because it has a Chronicles sticker on it. Seriously. The new Regamasters look great on there and it’s an upgrade from the Blitz wheels she had before….

Octo-dad made his appearance and graced us with his presence even when he was busy MCing the event. Gotta give this guy a big round of applause for putting this meet together. I heard all the drama that went on the night before with the meet almost not happening but Norman came through in the clutch and got it going….

The usual suspects were there, Alex from alexisthemovie.com to the left, HeyMitchellStevensennnn on the right….

Phaze2 DA aka HotStuff Sid aka Doods DA….and a couple AS1 vehicles…

Closer look, shittier pic…

The guys who brought out this NSX were taking this shit all seriously. They were like wiping down the car, applying tire shine and putting on vinyl and what not. Wayyy too much for a hot ass day. NSX looks good though. Almost looks kinda like the set-up our guy had before the major makeover. The flat black face and gloss lip on the VS-XX were a very nice touch….

Had to get out of the heat and get some A/C so we hit up the Carl’s JR and got some shakes and shit. Also kicked it with Supastar Timmy and his clean daily Accord wagon on old school Racing Hart C5s….

Afterwards I walked around on my own for a bit and saw Leon Casino’s carb’d CR-X. Norman said that Leon almost beat up a homeless person that morning. Apparently the homeless guy was asking for a cigarette and when he didn’t get one, he went apeshits and starting going off about how “we” (I imagine “we” meaning America and not all homeless people in general) should have got rid of asians a long time ago. I don’t remember what Norman said happened after that but somehow he (Octo-dad) ended up with a busted thumb and a broken watch…

Many of you will remember this hatch because I had a couple pictures of it from the last meet we went to. He had bronze TE37s then and a gigantic “Daily Driven” sticker. He has since removed it and also got some MF10Ls and it looks way better….

I always try to get a shot of this DA everytime I see it. Such a classic look to it. The giant you see behind the car is DC5*Brian aka DC5*Yao Ming’s cousin. Look at that big motherfucker. Always getting in my pictures…

…There he is again…number 11 all day son…dude is like 8’5″ in this picture…

Saw these cats roll up to the meet. Bunch of young kids from what I saw. I thought I’d give them a mention because they straight bit our style by using the Phaze2 color scheme and font for their “crew name”. I wanna say it’s a coincidence but I highly doubt it. They’re crew even starts with a “P”. Almost like they’re the Rota version of Phaze2…maybe “Vorks” even. Like I said, I wanna call coincidence but it’s a little obvious. Maybe if you squint your eyes really hard, you might get us mistaken from afar…congrats on the logo ___________ ________ ….(You didn’t think I would give these guys that much attention right?)….

Anyways…they had a raffle going on at the meet where they were giving the winners t-shirts and even a set of wheels to one lucky winner. I think they were giving out a set of MR5s or something. None of us won the wheels but Ojay with the Element won a Manny Pacuiao t-shirt…

…Shirt probably came straight from Norman’s closet…haha.

Nasif and his Civic…

Nasif’s Civic and some guy who randomly showed up and started taking pictures…
Weird thing happened during the meet. It was hot the whole day and then all of a sudden a huge gust of wind started blowing and it was so strong that it actually pulled a car cover into the sky along with an umbrella. It’s hard to see in the picture but it was like an entire fullsize car cover…

Again, I didn’t get a chance to get every car there because I was making an effort to stay cool and shoot the shit with the homies so the rest of the pics are just of some our cars. Non-Hondas yes but then again I’ve showed you pics of a car cover flying around in the sky too so I might as well show you guys some cars….

That’s a wrap. Overall a good turnout and good meet.
A Nostalgic Moment…Mike Chang’s DB Integra…

I’ll be honest, this was one of the few issues of Super Street that I used to own. Back then I had more issues of Import Tuner because it was the flashier magazine. And at that age, you’re all about the flash and wild stuff. Plus, there were girls in that publication and Super Street was more along the lines of a Sport Compact Car minus all the tech. Not exactly sure why I bought this particular issue but I’m thinking the car I’m gonna talk about had a little bit to do with it. In 2000, there wasn’t too many of these rolling around and the simple styling was just a nice change of pace. If this car were around today, set-up exactly like it did in 2000, it would still be very current…

This is Mike Chang’s Integra, or it was at the time anyway. This was back when Hybrid was in full force and basically on top of the import showcar game. Today, they’re still around, but not really near the prominence that the original group achieved…

This DB had it all, Mugen everything, B18C1, it was a U.S. Honda-owners dream Integra, and probably the closest people had seen to a 4-door Type R of it’s time. The car was eventually given to Mike’s girl, Julie Han. I’m sure many of you remember who she was because she received alot of attention and success after she complete redid the car….

I wish I had pics of it but I’m sure many of you have seen it. Especially if you used to peruse Onlineshowoff.com alot back in the day. She along with her car were on there alot. I actually didn’t even remember this feature until I glanced through the mag recently. I personally remember it when she had it but I did remember that it used to be Mike’s. I’m not too sure what happened to the car, maybe got sold and what not. Man, looking back at these features just reminds me how far photographers and features have come along in the past 9 years. Everything was just so simple then and the photos weren’t anywhere near the quality they are now….

Actually here’s a pic I found. The only pic I could find actually….Look at the car guys…come on…I think the two of them are actually married now…
The Fast & The Furious 5 set for Brazil…Blanka to star…

Okay I lied. But the next installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise was confirmed yesterday by Paul Walker on a radio station…

According to Jalopnik…
Paul Walker just confirmed in a radio interview that he and Vin Diesel are set to star in the fifth The Fast and the Furious, which will be set in Brazil. The fourth installment brought in over $75 million in the first weekend, so this isn’t really a huge surprise. The Brazil location should be interesting.

What do Hondas and other imports have to do with Brazil you ask? Well, absolutely nothing! With the way the most recent movie went and how it was more based on domestics, don’t be surprised to see an even smaller presence of imports in the next movie. Not really a surprise at all though considering Vin Diesel is producing the movies now. But oh well, I’m waiting for Blanka to show up and do a roll attack on Brian Spilner….
There’s another update coming, I just thought it was interesting and worth a mention…check back later for more stuff…
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday….

If Norman hasn’t already e-mailed you, texted you, called you, came to your house, or sent a smoke signal your way,…there’s a meet this weekend. There hasn’t been any gatherings or anything of late so definitely expect a pretty big turnout at this one. It’s gonna be held over at Rosewood Royale in Bellflower. If you guys haven’t heard of it before, it’s like a barbershop that has been at that location for over 4 decades or something and one day a couple of entrepreneurs took over the place and opened up a clothing store alongside it. The backstory on the place is pretty cool because it has alot of history behind it and it’s interesting to see it turned into a modern hip-hop clothing store. It gets it’s name from the two cross streets that it’s located at; Rosecrans Ave. and Woodruff. Anyways, everyone should definitely head down there. It’s a BBQ meet too so expect to see food there. If not, then there are also other food spots around that area. I’m actually only about 5 minutes away from the place so I’m familiar with the area. Okay I lied. It’ll probably take me about 30 minutes to get there because I have to drag my car out of my complex without getting my exhaust caught on the speedbumps. Speaking of hamburgers (what?), I actually ate at the Carl’s Jr. in that same shopping center when I was getting my catalytic converter replaced after some fuckface stole that shit over night from my truck. Yup, they just cut that shit right off and yanked it….
I will of course be there so if you want to come up to me and complain about random shit or tell me how much you hate this site, I’ll try to accomodate you. I’m usually pretty open to discussion but it helps if you bring food. If you want to purchase a sticker that might be a possibility also. I gotta run to my sticker guy and ask him to make some more….
What else you got going on? Might as well stop by and chill with some homies and stare at cars. Okay I’m down advertising for free now, just go to the damn thing. It’ll be fantastic. Imagine like 20 naked women huddled around you waiting for you to take advantage of them….yessss….and then squeeze one out and try to go to the meet. Alright I’m outta here. Thanks to all the recent new viewers coming in from all over the world reading this site. Japan, Sweden, Antarctica, Narnia, whaaaa? Crazy. Hope you enjoy what you see…if not, donate me like $40 grand and I’ll stop, I promise…

Cause: Does a reason need to be given for a Sunday BBQ? Having some good food with great friends at a chill spot is the perfect way to end a week and start your next. I think with the -Roots-, this is the way to do it. Without all the bells and whistles, this is where it all started. Cars, Clothes, and Chicks! The three c’s that go hand in hand with todays Japanese Import Auto Culture. You combine that with good music, free food, and a chill environment, it’s everything you could want all in one spot. Stay Fresh, Rosewoods, StreetGeekz, and the AS1 family would like to give you just that.
We believe that the old school roots and basics is what the import community need not forget. Do you remember going to old school shows and meets, where trophies and opinions didn’t matter.? Where if you had anything other than an American car, you were considered in the import scene? When it didn’t matter if you drove a Honda, Toyota, or whatever? That’s where we need to be.
So if you’ve had a hard week and just find the need to unwind, please stop by. If it’s a fresh line up, some new fits, or just a good time that you’re looking for, then we got you. This is where you need to be. We need to bring that sense of “Community” back in to full effect. Just like it was then and just like it should be now.

This meet is for anyone who’s not down with DRAMA OR BULL SHIT!
*THIS JUST IN: INFINIT WHEELS WILL BE DONATING WHEELS FOR THE RAFFLE! Nothing too specific yet, but I was informed that wheel brands such as SSR, Mugen, 5zigen, or BLITZ will be raffled off! Thanks Anthony and Danny!*
Fake wheels with real stickers…a follow-up…

I’m happy to see that everyone is enjoying the previous post about me ranting like an asshole about people who rock real stickers on fake wheels. I know many of you agree with me and some may not, but let me explain the method behind my madness. When I first started building cars back almost 10 years ago, my first set of wheels were a set of Racing Hart CP-035s…or so I thought. At that time I was still very green and didn’t really know too much about wheels and what not and the concept of Rotas and replica wheels was basically non-existent. I always thought there was something funny about the wheels though. When I saw other sets of the same wheels at shows and stuff, the wheels I had seemed a bit “off”. I began researching the wheels and went on the Racing Hart website to compare and what not. I originally purchased the wheels from Ebay so that made me wonder even more if that shit was legit. If you know CP-035 wheels, they’re a very simple design and the Rota Subzeros are basically on point as far as replication. You could probably only tell if they were side by side. The only thing I really noticed was that the color was a bit off from the real Racing Hart wheels. Again, at that point in time, I had no idea what Rotas were. I didn’t even think people made knockoff wheels. I was very naive. Oh I forgot to mention that my wheels even had the Racing Hart and “CP-035″ stickers on them…so they had to be real right? I began asking around and someone mentioned to me that I should look on the inside of the wheel for the correct labels and engravings. Sure enough, I look at the backside of the hub and what do I see? “R O T A”. Ever since that day, I have despised replica wheels. I hated them for a different reason back then though. More because I was ripped off and tricked into thinking that the wheels were real. I would hate for another guy who just got into fixing up cars to be ripped off like that or have the potential to get jacked. I never did find the person who sold those wheels to me. Once I found out they were fakes I took the stickers off and just kept them around as spares. I really didn’t even want to have anything to do with them because it always left a bad taste in my mouth getting jipped. Can you imagine the feeling for a young kid to get ripped off of his hard-earned money like that? It fucking sucks. That’s why I fucking hate people that try to justify using the real stickers on their fake ass wheels. If you want to roll on fake/replica wheels, so be it. But don’t try to act like you got the real shit by putting the decals on. That was the point of the post. I noticed some guys trying to defend Rotas and shit. I don’t care if people have that shit or not, it’s your car, but don’t front. Plain and simple.
In the previous post you’ll notice a pic of some low-offset TE37 fakes with the Volk stickers on them. That actually comes from a 350z forum where the owners tried to justify rocking the stickers because he had the authentic Rays valve stems. He said he was “supporting both companies” so that makes it okay for him to have the stickers on his Rotas. That’s…fucking…stupid. Not because of his feable attempt at an explanation,…but because he thinks that people would actually believe it…
With that said, here is some more poser gold….

Ehh…I’ve had a set of Work Meister S1s that I painstakingly refinished. I had to reorder the original Work stickers from Work Wheels Japan and that shit was fucking expensive. Probably about the price of a Rota wheel. So consider the wheel above of some value. Unless the sticker is fake too…

What’s really sad is that these wheels are on an R32 Skyline….yikes…
Thanks to everyone for reading and guys like Jay at JDM EGO for linking it on their sites.
Here’s an updated version of a gif I made awhile back….enjoy…

haha…
An indepth look at horrible ideas…Part 6…Fake wheels with authentic stickers…
Damn, sorry this update took so long. Believe it or not, I’ve actually been busy working. I had a couple Honda Tuning magazine features to finish up so I haven’t really been able to knock this out and get it up as quick as I wanted to. I’ve been writing alot the past couple days so excuse me if the following post has very well-spoken and understandable english. Anyways on with it….
….

Now let’s get one thing perfectly clear. It’s no secret that I don’t like fake/knock-off wheels….but if you have them, that’s your perogative and you do you. My major issue, is when people rock the fake wheels and put on the stickers of the real deal wheels and try to front like they’re legit. Nothing says “fakin’ the funk” more than when people try to fool people into thinking they got the real shit when they don’t. It’s almost like clothing and shoe collectors you know. I mean I personally don’t collect Bape stuff or Dunks or whatever but if you see someone rocking fake Bape shit, you’re gonna call them out on it. If you’re one of those guys with fake wheels rockin’ the real stickers, what makes you any better than that guy that has fake Jordans or knock-off Nike SBs? Shit just ain’t right. Some people call hardparkers “Hypebeasts” but these people who front are the biggest hypebeasts of them all. Obviously rockin the decals ain’t gonna make you feel any better about yourself. You’re doing it purely because of the fact that you just want to impress others…

Above is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. Obviously, these are not TE37s, they’re not Volks of any kind actually. A reader passed this along to me and I actually found the original Craigslist ad for it. The seller claims to have originally bought them for “$1000″ and added the typical “my loss is your gain” statement. It’s weird because he stated himself that they were replicas. I hope he really didn’t originally pay a grand for these wheels. If that really is the case then this dude got royally fucked. Speaking of Volks, they actually have manufacturers now that sell knock-off wheels with knock-off stickers…don’t know what I mean? See for yourself….

Uhh….Vorks? Ravs Engineering? It’s unreal. I don’t really see why companies would go through the effort to alter the original decals. Almost seems like it were done for comedic relief or a direct slap in the face to the original manufacturers. Look at the “V” in “Ravs” and the “V” in “Volk”, it’s not even the same fucking font…

I wonder if there’s anyone out there who actually own these things. If so, what happens when people ask them what wheels they own? Do they actually tell people that they own Vorks?….

I guess Ray and Rav got their cousin Roy into the game also….

Here’s an image from stage-infinity.com of another fake ass wheel with a fake ass sticker. SSP Speedy Star Type C – cast from high quality Motor …Sport and Racing…Power?…

Anyways, back to the fake funkers. Here’s an owner of a set of low-offset Rota Grids who is proudly rocking his Volk stickers. Even went as far as to get the authentic Rays valve stems…Doubt those are real Neo-Chro lugs, if they were than they cost more than the wheels did haha…

This is perhaps the most popular wheel for posers to pass off as real. The wheel above also demonstrates another stupid trend that I can’t stand which is putting Honda centercaps on every fucking thing. If you’re really trying to pass those off as real CP-Rs, at least leave all the other random shit off of it. Fake CP-Rs with stickers are usually very easy to spot though. The originals have letters painted on, quality of metal is better which means the lips have a better finish, and OG CP-Rs are two-piece welded so the face isn’t seamless with the lip of the wheel. Oh and it doesn’t have the generic rubber valve stems on them either.

Another Sprint Hart wheel that has gotten the same treatment are the CPFs. I don’t have any pictures of it and even if I did it would be very hard to distinguish them from the Spun CPF-G copies. When these came out, posers around the nation began printing the original stickers and pasting them on their Spun wheels. They even put them on the 16-inch versions and real Hart CPFs didn’t even come in that sizing!
I also have to say something about the VIA/JWL marks and JAWA labels. Alot of people out there will tell you that knock-offs are “just as strong” and they go through the same rigourous testing as Japanese wheels. Uh…no the fuck they don’t. The companies that replicate these wheels simply take the mold of the original wheel and don’t bother removing the VIA marking. They then copy the JAWA test labels and apply them to their wheels. You can tell alot of the times when looking at the label inside the wheel that it’s fake because it’s just a bunch of japanese and no serial numbers are present. All legit JAWA labels have certification numbers for that particular brand of wheel. So if it’s numberless and just a bunch of japanese script, your ass just got ripped off. I’m sure knock-off wheel companies have figured out a way to replicate the serial numbers by now so it’s probably harder than ever to determine authenticity sometimes. The only way would be to judge by the quality of the wheel and the finish. The cheaper metals used to create a replica will never have that high polish that an authentic wheel would. That’s why you see more people trying to fake the funk nowadays with the Rota P45rs and Grids. Those wheels are all one-piece cast and usually coated a certain color. The only way to really differentiate those are to look closely at the spoke design and texture of the finish on the wheel.
With all that said, posers will be posers. Some will argue that they don’t want to spend money on the real thing because it’s overpriced. To them I say “that’s fine” but don’t go and put the authentic sticker and try to pass them off as the real thing. You say it’s overpriced and that’s your opinion but don’t try to fool people into thinking that you paid for the real thing. That’s called “hypocrisy”. How are you gonna bitch about the price of something and then try to act like you own that shit? There are also people out there that say “oh well I can’t afford the real thing and I like the look.” Okay, that’s cool too. But again, if you can’t afford it, don’t try to front like you can. That’s called “fakin’ the funk”.

I created this after I saw the pics of the Vorks. I still can’t get over that shit haha. Anybody down to rock some Rotamaster EMOs?
I’ll be returning to the regularly scheduled updates now so make sure to check back daily.
Seriously, it’s coming soon…

Really, it’s coming…sorry for the delay guys. It’s been busy as all hell lately on this site too…Hit a milestone in hits the last couple days or so. Thank you everyone for visiting by the way. But I’ll have this up very soon. I’ve been having some issues collecting all the pics for the write-up…
Formula D is this weekend so if you’re a motorsports fan, make sure to go out and check it out…
Remember: “Rotas make James Van Der Beek Cry.”
Getting back on track…
Well, a bit of upsetting news yesterday but let’s get back on track to what we’re used to seeing here. Photobucket is being a total bitch right now and decided not to work the whole night so I couldn’t get part 6 of “An indepth look at horrible ideas” completed and up for you guys. I don’t like to do shit half ass so I usually sit on the bowl longer, and I also don’t like to do shit half ass so I’m not gonna get the update up until I complete it with images…With that said, I’m just gonna give you guys a bunch of random shit to look at today…
For those of you who haven’t seen the pictures from the photoshoot we did last weekend, then allow me to direct you to those images. I really don’t want to start filling this site up with pics of my own car and what not because I really do want to keep this place Honda-dedicated. You guys already saw the pics we shot of the Element the other day but if you really want to see the pics of Tony’s GS as well as my car, please check out the Hot Stuff International Myspace page, or go here.
For those of you that ordered stickers within the end of last week to this week, they are going out very soon. Stickers have been selling really well lately actually and are going fast so if you want one or two or maybe even 8, please purchase them now before they’re all gone and I have to get another batch made. For information about purchasing stickers, click the “Support the Chronicles…” link above… or just click the link I just typed in.
Most of you probably want something to gawk at while you’re here so here’s a picture from a video that was passed along to me. It’s a porno, yes. I forget the title of it but I also remember seeing it a couple years back and found it to be hilarious. It was a movie featuring Carmen Luvana and other big name stars from a couple years back and it’s notable because it featured alot of Hondas and imports from the Socal show scene. Girls were getting railed on the hoods and doing all kinds of nasty shit on the cars. Guys were spraying their goo everywhere and sweating all over the seats and shit. Definitely funny to see this kind of stuff done on cars that possibly belong to your homies or people that you know….
To make it more “work safe” (not that it really isn’t already), I went ahead and disguised the guy as M. Bison from Street Fighter. I mean, it’s still pretty obvious that the dude is being blown in front of an Integra from Team Hybrid. If your boss manages to walk by and see you staring at this, it won’t really be a problem because the dude is M. Bison, and everybody respects that guy. The owner of the Integra’s name eludes me right now but I’m sure you all recognize the car…Enjoy…

Boss: “What in the wor….Oh is that M. Bison?”
You: “Uhh..yes sir. He’s doing his flying head stomp (Charge Down 2 seconds, then Up + any kick button) and she reversed it with a squatting uhh…midsection grab…”
Boss: “Wasn’t that Integra from Team Hybrid?”
You: “Yessir…”
Boss: “Oh okay, carry on.”
The Chronicles Motherfucker. “Never been afraid to say what’s on my mind at any given time or day…”
Hate at it’s worst…A truly tragic event…
I know often times I try to be light-hearted and keep things on a more comedic side on this site. For the most part, people come here to see what kind of shit I’ll say to get a good laugh. This is not one of those moments…. Brian from AS1 passed this along to me and I couldn’t help but mention it here. I think it’s a shame when people resort to vandalism or keying someone’s car just because they don’t like them or hate on them for what they’ve been able to do to their cars. It’s almost as bad as outright theft. Either way, the owner is losing out and has to spend time to repair what was messed up or stolen. You’ll hear stories here and there about someone getting vandalized and you might just let it go one ear and out the other because it’s such a common event. In this instance, I really hope you take this to heart and understand the true utter tasteless behavior that was present when this occurred. To hate on someone, is inevitable just because that’s what haters do…they hate. They say if you’ve never been hated on, then you probably haven’t done anything with your life. But to hate someone because of their ethnic background or religious beliefs and upbringings, is completely unacceptable. I don’t care who you are or where you’re from. We have wars because of this kind of shit. What we do to our cars is supposed to be something enjoyable, it’s a hobby. No one should ever feel in danger of their lives or disrespected to a point where they don’t want to be involved in any hobby…
I must warn you that the pictures below are indeed offensive to some and are very hard to look at if you love cars…

The owner of the car had recently brought his car home from paint and was excited to have his S2000 back. Two days later he woke up to see his car like this…

This is the list of damages done to the S2000 from the owner…
if anyone knows anything about this i am offering $5000 for the name of the person/s who committed this hate crime against me…
thanks guys,
i will no longer be an s2000 owner after thursday, its been a great 3 years with her..Damage list…

I can’t even imagine the amount of anger that I would feel if something like this happened to me. It’s fucking sad that in today’s day and age that bullshit like this is happening to people. If anyone knows about this and who did this, please pass this along to the owner. He’s kind enough to even offer a reward after all that’s happened to him. My heart goes out to the guy. That’s possibly the worst thing that could ever happen to a car owner. At least when your car is stolen you know they just want it for the parts. What happened to this S2000 was done purely out of hatred over someone’s religious beliefs and who they are. That’s horrible. Kinda makes you wonder what kind of world we live in where bullshit like this can occur without any sort of justice.
The last I saw on the forum it was originally posted at, the FBI was involved and viewed the case as a hate crime and total destruction of personal property. They’re headed over for prints and what not but it’s basically out of their hands if they don’t find anything. Other than that, they gotta hope for someone to come forward and tell them who was behind it.
That’s some bullshit though. Just seeing that shit makes me angry. I can’t imagine how the owner is feeling right now….
If anyone out there knows anything about this, be a respectful human being and come forward. No one deserves this kind of punishment. We gotta step outside the realm of cars and see it more as a vandalized Honda S2000. This is a personal attack on someone’s well being.
If you’re the owner and you’re reading this….Sorry man, I hope you find whoever did this and they get what’s coming to them. Good luck.
Ojay’s Gold Brick…

(There are two updates today so make sure to check out the one after this also…)
As you all know from yesterday’s post, we set out to take some pics and I figure I should probably put them to use by spotlighting one of our cars that usually doesn’t get seen as much as the others. For avid readers of Honda Tuning Magazine, you may remember seeing this Element from the winter 2008 issue. Since then, Ojay’s been doing little things here and there to keep himself occupied and ready for this years show season…

He picked up this one-off set of front and rear Rotora big brakes as well as replacing some OEM parts that had begun to show some wear and tear from all the snowboarding trips. Ojay also installed the OE option rear wing today but didn’t get it done in time for the shoot so it’s not present in the pictures. I think he said he was planning on removing the rack up top to to give the E a more sleek look…

He’s also got some other stuff laying around he needs to install too. Hopefully everything is ready in time for Eibach. I mean, he really doesn’t do anything other than eat hamburgers and sleep but hopefully he’ll find time out of his Naruto schedule to get off his ass and finish it up…

If you wanna see older pics of this car, check out the Hot Stuff International Myspace page. It’s also in the Wek’Fest 2009 coverage as well as other trips we’ve taken. That’s about it for today, I’m out…see you tomorrow.
Fast and Furious from an insider’s perspective…

I’m sure many of you have seen the film already, but many of you might not know that there was actually alot more imports involved than one might have thought. Ben from Bulletproof Automotive actually built two S2000s for this film and Mine’s also let them use their R35 GTR demo car for over 5 months and it didn’t even see any screen time. Ben elaborated on it and how he felt about the whole situation over on his blog and it’s a very interesting read. Even if you don’t care for the movie and don’t want anything to do with it, it’s still a good read because it gives people a look from behind the scenes of major production.
Another weekend over…

Didn’t really have much planned this weekend…I never really do anyway but I did go out with some of the Phaze2/Doods!/HotStuff homies this past weekend to shoot some random pictures. It’s been awhile since we’ve had new pics so we went out to Fullerton to shoot. You can see Tony shooting in the image above. No his NSX still isn’t finished and we’re shooting for Nisei but who knows…
I’m still busy editing some of the pics but here’s a couple shots for now. I’ll post the rest if people wanna see them, but again, alot of them aren’t Honda-related…

I’m sure everyone is familiar with this Element by now. He recently added a bunch of new parts to it so keep an eye out for it the next time you see it. He only had his Rotora big brake kit on but there’s definitely more goodies coming…
Ah fuck it, here’s some other random shots…I gotta finish editing the rest of them and maybe I’ll post them up if it generates enough interest…

Everyone knows this car by now…nothing special, just more bird shit on it lately…

This is Tony with the NSX’s other project, which is his daily. It’s on air suspension and Auto Couture Magnifiques and it will soon be kitted and repainted. For now this is how it sits. I can’t wait to get air suspension, my car looks all fucking high next to his….

This was also the first time I actually drove my car anywhere with the new wheels and suspension adjustments….Everything was fine except that I noticed how much noisier Nankang tires were compared to Falkens. No big deal really because I usually have music on or whatever but it’s just something I noticed. The ride was definitely better though but these tires are new and my old Azenis ST115s were so fucked they were literally splitting at the seams…
I also watched Fast and Furious this weekend too, strangely enough, I didn’t walk out of their disappointed. It was actually a pretty decent film. Storyline was pretty obvious but I mean, what do you expect. The fact that Bow Wow and Tyrese weren’t around or some other rapper attempting to act wasn’t in it was good enough for me. Didn’t really have two many imports in it other than in some shorter scenes. If you guys got nothing to do and go to the movies, go ahead and check it out. There aren’t too many scenes that are so embarassing that it’s laughable like F&F2…A couple Hondas show up in the film; a white Integra is always sitting on the driveway at Torretto’s house, Jordana Brewster drives a black NSX, there’s a yellow EG and what looks to be Duke’s old blue NSX in a funeral scene, and Vin Diesel slams some dude onto Ben from Bulletproof Automotive’s gold S2000. That’s about it…Go watch it, or download it, whatever…
The Importance of Stance…

I’m sure everyone has seen these pictures by now…TJ’s S2000 is right up there with the best S2000s stateside and it’s badassery (word?) is based purely on wheel selection and suspension set-up. Now I believe all of you know that everything in life involves a right and a wrong. Call it a “Yin” and “Yang” of sorts. One one end of the spectrum, you have TJ, the good…
…And on the other end of the spectrum, you have this…

…This is not how you do it. I’m all for low offsets and wheel fitment. But you have to make your wheels fit. These…do…not…fit. Definitely an extraordinary amount of fender modification involved in getting these um…I think Rotas, to fit. They still do not fit. Sad really. If they are indeed Rotas. Someone took the time to hack up their fenders just to get Rotas to fit. Almost makes baby Jesus cry…

Rear looks awesome, very snug fitment, aggressive height…Everything you can want in a perfect stance for a S2k…

Fenders are hurting bad right here. For the owners sake, I hope he’s doing this clearly for fitment testing and will eventually fix the jagged fenders. It looks like it’d be a pretty nice car with the right stance….

Winner.
That’s all for today folks. Gotta pee out all this hate…. =P
An indepth look at horrible ideas…Part 5…Tow Hook “Charms”…
Let me start off by saying that this isn’t a totally bad idea in general. Like if you actually know the original meaning behind why this trend exists, then this doesn’t concern you. For an explanation, let’s have Antonio Alvendia from Cipher Garage explain…
“For some reason, it has become some sort of trend for people to hang toys or other items of thier cars’ rear tow hook, but the origination of this trend came from the Bosozoku (street gangsters with fixed up cars) in Japan. It was a Bosozoku trend to hang a small tin bucket from thier rear tow hook to show off how low thier cars were- they got the idea from seeing cement trucks in Japan, wich always had a bucket hanging off the rear of the truck. The cement trucks used the bucket as a “catch can” of sorts, so that excess cement from the truck would’nt spill onto the pavement. Inspired by this, the bosozoku trend setters attached small buckets to thier rear tow hooks to show how low thier bucket could hang- if your car was so low that the bucket could scrape on things as you were driving , they thought it was cool as hell.”
Pretty cool right? I know it may be a bit alarming, but people do things for other reasons other than to be trendy. There are original meanings and purpose besides doing things. For those guys, it’s all fine and dandy. The problem exists because of those kids nowadays that hang shit on their cars just because they see someone else, who also saw someone else, do it. It’s gone the way of the Wakaba/new driver badge. It’s become a stupid trend that has lost all meaning….

Nothing says “I don’t have any direction as to where my car is going”, then having a doll or stuffed animal of some sort hanging from a tow hook of a Honda. Some people even do it in an attempt to be more “JDM”…These people are easy to spot. They usually have a car that’s basically stock, kinda beat-up, possibly on Rotas or something of the sort, angled Wakaba badge, generic fart can muffler, super angled stickers, and something hanging from a stock tow hook, or a Datum 1 hook…Oh and when they take the pictures of their cars it’s angled sideways and you hurt your neck having to look at them…

All arguments about this are null and void really…You can’t say “Oh well, I’m trying to be Boso too…” Homie, no you the fuck are not. You are everything that Boso doesn’t want to be. If the Boso guys woke up from a nightmare of what they were scared of becoming, it would be you. “I wanna be like the drifters…” Umm, where do you think they got the idea from? And you want to be like a drifter in your FWD stock suspension Civic? It’d be easier to believe that you did it just because you saw your friend do it or you saw it at a meet…

I really don’t understand how this caught on. I guess it’s the kid with no money’s way of doing a “mod” to his/her car. These are like the simple trendy things you can do to “set yourself apart from the rest” even though all you’re really doing is following someone else. I believe it’s called a “paradox”. Someone can say “Oh I’m just doing it to be different, and I like it so fuck you.” Okay that’s cool, but if I rolled up to a Tea Station in San Gabriel or some shit, I’ll see 80% of these motherfuckers rocking the exact same shit. So who the fuck are you differentiating yourself from? People with creativity?…

Again, let me reiterate that I’m not saying anything to those of you whose tow hooks serve a purpose or guys who actually understand where this idea originates from. It’s for those individuals who do nothing but every pseudo-JDM trend to their cars just to claim to be “JDM”. Some say that hanging something from your hook is a drifter thing and they do it for good luck…Okay, I’ll take that. But for you Honda heads, what do you guys need that shit for? Luck so that no one tries to jack your shit? If that’s the case you probably shouldnt deliberately draw attention to yourself by hanging some gay shit on your car. You’re better off trying to hang a thing of seasoning on your tow hook…..for good taste. (Uhh, okay that was stupid…)
Take the dolls off and give it to the children.
Tow hooks are for towing.
Ehh…
So my internet was down for the majority of the night and I wasn’t able to get the update up like I wanted to. Once I finish it, I’ll throw it up ASAP…meanwhile, enjoy this McGangbang…

Interesting tidbits from the Redline Time Attack…

So I was perusing the times from the most recent Redline Time Attack and the results yielded some interesting facts…

1. The Sportcar Motion Civic was actually the fastest FF competitor overall…
2. The time of 1:55.809 was better than the Modified RWD-class winner, which was a Corvette Z06 that ran a 1:56.421…
3. The unlimited FF-class winner, the HPS Integra, ran a final time that was almost 3-seconds slower than the Modified FF-class winning Sportcar Civic…
4. Modified AWD-class winning AMS Evo X was only faster than Sportcar by 6-tenths of a second with a time of 1:55.221
Not bad for a Civic with a gigantic splitter made of wood, a K-swap, and an immensely talented driver….
Other than those random facts, not much going on today…
My buddy Chris aka jspeccb4 aka jdmspecacc aka The Blizzard Man from Chicago finally got around to putting on his Chronicles sticker and even took a picture of it…

As you can see, he took so long to put it on that he still has the first version of the sticker. Nonetheless, thanks for repping, even though you never drive your car and just leave it in the garage because there’s snow like 363 days out of the year in Chi-town…
This is his CB7. Apparently he bought it for like 400 dollars or something back in the day and actually made it look pretty clean…

It’s also one of the first wire-tucked CB7s that I have seen besides the shitty half-tuck that I did on mine. He also did his during a blizzard…
If you guys have pics of the stickers you got from me and are reppin them, please feel free and send me over a pic. I’d love to see what you guys did with them…Rodrez had one on his car but he took it off so he could put his 42-inch Rodrezshot sticker on his back window.
