Announcement time!…

Oh before we begin, how many of you remember this scene from Under Siege with Steven Segal? This was like one of the big action movies of the time and Erika Eleniak was the star of Baywatch and all that and she had this one scene where she jumped out of a cake and got all naked and shit. Then Steven Segal like rolls up on her and points a gun to her face, killing all boners of men of the early 90s. Of course only people who are 30 and above would probably remember this scene because it was probably the inspiration behind the onset of puberty. The movie overall wasn’t too bad, typical Segal movie where he like, dodges every bullet and does some akido move and kills everyone but it was a pretty successful movie. It lead to the sequel of course where basically the same storyline took place but on a fuckin train and there were no titties involved. This scene with Erika Eleniak jumping out of a cake and showing her goods is special to me because this was probably the first set of titties I seen EVER. Haha…

Yes, I know this is totally random but I bring this up because I was actually looking for a picture of a lady jumping out of a cake so I could post it up on here and tell you guys about the 2-year anniversary celebration meet that I will be throwing in October. October 2010 will mark the 2 year birth date of The Chronicles and I wanted to get everyone together to celebrate. It’ll be a meet with the homies, friends, Hondas of course, and hopefully all of you guys. I’m hoping it’ll be a big thing but even if it isn’t, I don’t really care because it’s celebrating all the work I and many of my friends have done to make this site successful. When I first started this whole thing with The Chronicles, I had no expectations. I didn’t know it was gonna last one year, 2 weeks, 3 years, whatever. I have been delightfully surprised by how big this place has gotten and I think it would be really cool to get everyone together to celebrate. Now the meet is still in it’s infancy so I have not really made any solid plans yet. I know it will be towards the end of October but I am currently looking for a location to have this meet at. When I figure everything out, I will let everyone know. It would be a pleasure to have all of you there so make plans to come party with The Chronicles for it’s 2-year anniversary!

In other news, I have a couple things going on this week so keep an eye out for that. I’m also heading up to Norcal once again this weekend because I told DPK*David I would go with him and hang out with some of the ATS Garage guys. Also, The Chronicles is bigger than it has ever been, thanks to you guys. With just a day or so left in the calender month, we are only a couple hits away from hitting the 100k mark for the first time ever! I think we might even hit it by the end of today. That’s crazy because the all-time best month previously was just a little over 85K. Just goes to show you how busy this place has been and how many new viewers we have garnered since the beginning in 2008. I used to be happy with like 40 hits per day, to hit the 100k mark in one month is amazing and I couldn’t be happier about it. Anyways, thanks everybody for their continued support and look out for details on The 2-year Chronicles Birthday extravaganza!…

A Nostalgic Moment…One of the Worst Shows EVER…

Ah man, I haven’t done one of these in awhile…For those of you who are somewhat new to the site, I used to do these segments quite often when content was kinda slow and I really didn’t even have a camera to shoot with yet. If you guys want to find some of the older posts, just go to the search box on the left and type in “A nostalgic moment” and the other posts should pop up. It’s kinda cool for you older guys who were around during that time and for the newer heads to see what stuff was like a couple years back…

Alright, so in my near decade of doing car shows (besides the ones I just attended when I had no car as a younger teen), I have experienced many different events. Some were great, some were even greater, and some were fucking awful. I remember doing a DUB car show one year and it was probably the worst and definitely the most ghetto car show I have ever attended. I don’t have pictures of that event because I wasn’t taking pictures back then nor did I have a camera. But let me tell you, it was fuckin hell. They had us parked on grass by this fuckin pond where the cars kinda just sank into the ground and then they had a whole concert thing where people just got fuckin wasted. I swear, one guy got so drunk that he was passed out next to the stage…and people were fucking robbing his ass. Like the dude was passed out laying on the floor and people would just walk over to him and took his wallet, ripped his chain off of him, took his watch, shit was terrible! I mean, I wasn’t about to do shit just because I don’t give a shit about the guy and he shouldn’t have been wasted to that point in the first place but shit was crazy…fights were happening, the most unattractive booty hopping contest of all time, you name it, shit went down that day. Females just had no shame at that show. I specifically remember after the show, one of the dudes I used to show followed me to the nearest Denny’s to grab a bite to eat with the rest of the homies and while we were waiting for them to show up in the parking-lot, this black chick just walked right by us, saw us, smiled, and then pulled her top down and showed us her titties. She didn’t say a fuckin word or anything. I mean, it’s always cool to see naked tits in public but that was just bizarre. I wanna say this happened around 2003 or 2004 but man, after that one experience, I told myself I would never do a DUB show again. I also told myself I would never go to one again either but with the random debauchery that I have grown accustomed to over the last year or so, I just might be down to see what kind of crazy shit happens again…

Anyways, I was looking through my hard drive for some older pictures the other day and found these pics from Hot Import Daze in San Diego. This was during the early summer of 2006. Things were very different then. I didn’t even have anyone to show with at the time cuz my old crew had broken up so I just showed my car just to be there because I was living in SD at the time. I had some friends going as well but they were parked with their respective car clubs. This show wasn’t bad in that people got robbed or whatever but what made it so terrible was that it was a Hot Import Daze event, and it fucking rained HARD all weekend. That shit was coming down super hard the night of roll-in the Friday before the show and it was hell. I had just washed my Accord and after I parked, it just started raining and the car looked like shit the next morning. What was even shittier was that I used to know this one guy who I thought was one of my best friends then and he had gave me his word that he would pick me up after I dropped off my car but when I gave him a call to come give me a ride, this motherfucker told me he was in LA shopping with his girlfriend or some shit. So I ended up having to call my mom of all people to come pick me up after she got out of work. So I pretty much stood in the pouring rain for over an hour until she could get out of work to come grab me…shit was brutal. The day of the show, it was actually sunny for like 1-2 hours and then the rain just came down like crazy again. Probably hailed too, who fucking knows…

Here are the only pictures I have from the show that day…It was already late by this time and I had borrowed my friends camera to take some pictures just so I could remember to start a site 2 years later so I could tell you about how fuckin horrible the rain was. Yeah, I’m a prophet and I knew this would come in useful some day…

They shoulda called the show “Hot Import RAINZE”…This was a couple months after my cover feature in Honda Tuning had come out. I was still on the Sprint Hart CP-Rs at the time and I didn’t think I would ever get different wheels because I was such a huge fan of CP-Rs. I had a Stark RC as a spare and I put it on display. It was raining so hard that the current that developed almost dragged it away…Oh and Yokohama Paradas in the rain? Not the business…fuckin car like hydroplaned all the way home…

What was cool about parking by myself that day was that I actually ended up parking in front of these two guys. They probably had no idea who I was back then, nor would they remember parking behind me that day but these two cars belonged to Gil and Wil Salazar of Circuit Hero fame. Back then Circuit Hero didn’t even exist yet…I still remember exactly how Wil’s EG sounded as it drove in and I swear to you, I fell in love with Civics that day. The car was a beast…Gil’s DC2 was sick back then too…if you don’t know who he is, he now had that black Circuit Hero DC2 Type R with the K-swap and all the ASC custom fabrication…

Man, I love this thing. I remember him having his plaque of one of his features that he had on display. It was on this fancy tripod thing and all but it was pouring so hard he put it away…This Civic is still around today actually. He did a K-swap awhile back and now he tracks the car regularly. He did the 2009 Super Street FF Battle and did pretty well…Not sure what he’s been up to lately but this car is also special to me because it was also the second car feature I ever wrote back when I first started out at Honda Tuning a couple years back. It was probably 2008 or so, it seems like it has been ages…

Gil aka Guillotine’s DC2…I almost forgot about this car because of how sick his black R is now. This was a much more mild build compared to that one but it just has a timeless look to it. If he brought this car out today to a meet or something, people would still be all over it. If you put his current car side by side with this one, nothing about either two would be similar at all…

This of course, is the Civic that once used to belong to Rodrez. Man, I can’t believe it’s already been over 4 years since I met this guy…I think I took a picture of his Civic because it was the first time I had seen it in person. I had many encounters with this car later on in the future. I even had to help him push it into a show once during roll-in for another show because he was having an issue with his ITBs, which strangely enough, are now on Phaze2 Arnel’s Civic. There was also another time when he had a fuel leak and I had to take a hose clamp off my car at one of the Nisei Showoffs just so he could get home. He loved this car on the SSRs but my personal favorite are these bronze TE37s. I had only met him one other time before this show and it was when he shot my car for HT in north county SD. Now the guy is not only the dude I answer to at Honda Tuning but also one of my closest personal friends…crazy how things work out in life…

I’m sure many of you remember this car. If not, it’s the R34 that was built by the Tjin brothers, who I have also had the pleasure of meeting. I think Gene sometimes drops in to check out the site and he’s a cool dude. This Skyline was pretty intense, even by today’s crazy standards. It had HREs, the bay was fully tucked, full custom cage, and even had air jacks. It was also unique because 4-door R34 Skylines in the US were unheard of. Shit, I don’t even think I’ve seen another one since this car that is in the states. This build was FUCKING AMAZING. I don’t know of too many cars that could touch it in terms of shear quality and detail…it was on some 2015 shit…

That’s pretty much it for today…just wanted to show you guys a little bit of the scene from a couple years back. Before I leave, here’s a pic of some creepin’ that I did even back in ’06. She wasn’t a famous import model or anything but if there’s anything I want to take away from this picture below, is that I hope she’s over 18 now….haha…just kidding…maybe….=X

I’m looking at this picture now and I am now wondering who decided to hang their fucking purse on my side mirror….

That’s all for today folks…thanks for looking…Hoped you guys enjoyed the “JDM angle” pics…fuckin neck hurts now from looking at them…

Exclusive Content: Pics from Tony’s Feature that didn’t make the cut…

I’ve been sitting on these for a couple weeks now but I have had so much other stuff to post up that I hadn’t had the opportunity to get these out to you guys. These are the unused pics from Tony’s NSX feature that was on the cover of Honda Tuning a couple months back. It is pretty hard to take a bad picture of Tony’s NSX so these weren’t left out because of that, there probably were just too many GOOD pics of the car that the feature would have ran long. When Rodrez sent these over to me I was surprised that these weren’t used but then I pick up the copy of that particular issue of HT and the whole layout makes sense. All the better because now I can bring you the rest of the pics…Enjoy…

Photo credit of course goes to Rodrez…

Love this rear shot, makes the car look so meaty and aggressive…

This one is pretty cool…a rear rolling engine shot, haha…when was the last time you saw one of these?…

Wait until you guys see what Tony has planned next year…oh man…I can’t wait!…PEACE.

A visit to InlineFo’…

I’m actually pretty busy right now trying to knock out some mag work but I did stop by InlineFour today to hang out with Rodrez while he was getting some work done on his S2000. While I was there I walked around and just snapped pics of whatever I saw…enjoy…

Rodrez’s custom refinished gloss back lip/flat black face Blitz 01 wheels…

Going under the knife…

Spotted this EP3 sitting outside… I’m sure you guys have seen it before. Full cage done by L-Con Race Cars with the crazy pink interior. Not really sure what it was doing there, probably more stuff before the guy tracks it I guess…

Kinda dirty from sitting but it’s still a pretty cool car…especially for such an unpopular platform…

Pink on the inside…

Also saw the InlineFour time attack Civic, which Rodrez tells me will be in the upcoming issue of Honda Tuning. The car has a lot of unique touches to it I hear but it was covered up so I didn’t want to mess with it. Keep an eye out for the feature and see for yourself…

Alright, I gotta get back to work…laters….

Summer Weekend in Norcal…

Nisei Showoff 2010 was a blast and I couldn’t be happier with how everything went but one of the things I look forward to during Nisei weekend is the 12+ hours I get to catch up on sleep afterward. The only problem with that was of the ridiculous heatwave that hit the week following. I can’t even sleep comfortably because it’s so fuckin hot. Luckily we had planned a mini-vacation to head up to Norcal awhile back and it was a coincidence that the heatwave hit. It was good to get away from everything for a weekend and see some new spots in Norcal that we didn’t get to see when we were up there for Wek’Fest. The weather was in near-triple digits down in Socal but up where we were staying in San Francisco, it was barely 70 degrees. I didn’t bother bringing a jacket because I just wanted to enjoy the cold but it actually got so cold to the point where I had to borrow a hoodie from Rodrez, which I then decided to spill orange juice all over. Anyway, we left late Thursday night and got to Brisbane around 1am in the morning, got some rest, and then headed out to go eat breakfast…

We headed out in the Honda Tuning project TSX towards downtown SF to try-out this one spot. The girls love going to eat at places they either read about or see on TV so our meals are usually pretty good…

The first spot we hit up was Dottie’s Cafe. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall spot that is very old-fashioned and there was a line waiting outside to be seated. The place probably doesn’t hold more than 25-30 people so the wait was expected…

It was so small inside…the moment I walked inside I think I already tasted someone else’s food. Dottie’s is a real old school spot from the decor, to the style of cooking, to the people inside. There were some old ass people eating there…

The first thing we tried was the grilled corn bread and it was every bit as good as it looks…

May got the chorizo omelette…

…I ordered the 3 egg omelette with avocado and sausage…

…and Rodrez ordered enough to fill the whole table. Tes got pancakes with random stuff inside of it…

I “kilt” it…

After we finished eating, we took off to go look at sideways houses with garages that are impossible to put cars into…

…”Phuket”…

We parked in front of El Balazo mexican food spot and it looked pretty good. We had just finished eating so we actually didn’t make it back to this spot to try it out until the next night…

Parked on Haight St…

Ran across this spot that had some cool collectables…

Stussy store with a crazy white kid running down the street…

Shoe monster inside one of the shoe stores…

After walking up and down Haight St. for a bit, we went up the street to Upper Playground…

Walrus shooting lasers out of his fucking mouth…

Cool sidewalk art…

Tried on this sick japanese partyline/phone jerk/creep asian porn ad jacket inside Upper Playground. Shit was sick but May wouldn’t let me buy it. Fucking thing also smelled a little bit like melting barbies so it was probably a good idea that I didn’t. That and I don’t want to walk around and have random old Japanese men shark me and try to bust a nut on me unsuspectingly…

Crazy cable system they have on the streets of downtown SF…looks pretty sketchy actually…

Ran into this old black dude that came up to me and wanted me to take a picture of him with all his albums he was selling. Not really sure why he posed like that but dude was out of his mind. He told me he was gonna sign the release forms for me to use it or whatever…

Random asian Chevron we stopped at. We actually did a lot more that night and went out to eat and walk around but I didn’t bring my camera and I’m sure most of you are here to see the car shit that we did…

We went home a little bit earlier than usual because we had to be up by 5am to go meet up with Raul who was getting his Civic shot by Rodrez for Honda Tuning. Even though it was a mini vacation, it was also for work. Rodrez had two shoots set-up that weekend and it was important that we got those knocked-out before the trip was over…

It was cold as shit that morning…We were right by the pier so it was expected but damn, it was a complete 180 from the weather down in Socal…

Setting up the equipment…

The girls decided it was a good opportunity to go for a morning run and to go check out the farmer’s market nearby…

Running in 40 degree weather was probably interesting. I wouldn’t know because Black Pie one brain-washed me and told me that only guys with sugar in their tanks run. I don’t know what that means but the only time I run is when a dragon or a hobo with a knife is chasing me so I have no idea how their run went…

It got bright at just the right time and we got started right away as soon as Raul showed up. It was interesting that we shot out by the pier because we came all the way up from Socal and Raul drove out from Lake Tahoe to meet us…

There couldn’t have been a better spot to shoot at. There were no other cars nearby, plenty of space, and the bay bridge in the backdrop was perfect…

Interior shots…

While Rodrez was doing that, I was walking around snapping everything I saw. This of course is the Honda Tuning TSX project that Rodrez is dipping around in. Love the 19-inch Advan RS-D wheels…

The shoot went pretty smoothly and Rodrez knocked it out pretty quick…

Once we cleaned up, Rodrez let me play around with his lighting while we waited for the girls to come back from the work-out…

70-200mm..

10mm wide angle…

We had a couple hours to spare before we had to meet up with the guys from ATS Garage so we stopped by Pier 23 for lunch…By then, the sun had finally decided to show up but it was still pretty cold…

How courteous of them to welcome us with naked asses from the 1940s…

Iced-tea…

May’s clam chowder and garlic bread…

My shrimp and crab sandwich with fries…shit was bomb as hell!…

Fried calamari…

Tes’ seafood sliders with fries…

Rodrez’s fish and chips that he was waiting all week for…

After we finished eating, we decided to hit up Ghirardelli Square. They always give out free chocolate samples there and some of us bought chocolate to bring home for others…

By the time we finished waiting in line to pay for chocolate, it was time to head back to grab Rodrez’s gear and head down to Hayward to meet up with Chris Sakai and the ATS Garage homies…

We got there a little late because of the crazy traffic down by the Wharf but it was all good because all the ATS guys were down at the house just chillin’ anyway. Rodrez was shooting Chris Sakai’s EK that evening but EVERYBODY decided to come out to watch…

We normally don’t really like that many people around because it tends to cause a scene but that’s just how the ATS guys roll. When one of them goes to the ATM, all 40 of them have to come along, haha….It was cool though because they were really familiar with the area and nobody hassled us for being there…

Like I said at the beginning of the year, Chris Sakai and Ryan Der’s EKs are probably the best out there right now and it was good to see Chris finally get his time in the spotlight…These two cars are amazing builds. You really have to see them in person to truly appreciate all the details…

Sunny from Franklin Autobody broughtout his Insight on air…

Angel wasn’t there but Fred and the guys brought his S2000 out to catch some sunlight…

Jay from JDMEGO and I were just having a discussion over AIM about how awesome this S2000 is…everything about it is on point. Just to see it roll down the street with us with its wide stance is crazy…

Ken from Wek’Sos came out to chill…

Rodrez doing what he does best…

Ryan aka Rywire mid-sneeze…

Fred Chapman rockin’ his Chronicles steez…

Ryan Der sharing some laughs with the rest of the ATS guys…

Here’s some larger-sized pics of Angel’s S2000…just because. Click on the link below to see the larger version…

I don’t know what they were laughing about and I felt left out, so I jumped in and fake laughed to make it not awkward. I even busted out the belly-clincher which I have only had to use 3 times in 28 years…

Finishing it up with some interior shots…

Two more of the S2k just because…

After Rodrez completed the shoot, we cleared out and head back to our area. Then we went down to Haight Street again to go eat at El Balazo. Shit was pretty decent for Norcal mexican food but we went in with no expectations… it was time to go relax in the hotel room and watch TV after that…

We made a shopping run before we headed back to Socal and I spotted this Delorean that was parked right across from us…

…and whatever this was supposed to be…

That’s a wrap…back to Socal…thanks for looking…PEACE.

Nisei Showoff 2010 Coverage…Part 5…The Finale…

Yes, this is it, the final installment of the Nisei Showoff 2010 coverage. It’s been quite a week, filled with coverage from one of the best car shows today. I’m gonna wrap the coverage up today with just a couple more pictures for you guys. I’m actually putting this together as I type in a hotel in Northern California. I decided to take a break and go 6 hours up north to chill for a bit and soak in the nice weather up here. It is hot as shit right now and heat and I just aren’t a very good mix. I wanted to finish this off and not skip a day so even though I’m away, I’m still updating. It’s the least I can do considering how crazy the traffic to this site has been lately. Anyways, enough with that, here are the rest of the pics….

I absolutely love the new look of Salem’s TSX…the J’s Racing front is definitely different but it gives the TSX such a menacing look…

The whole car is basically a moving J’s Racing catalog for the TSX…The white on white kind of gives it a much more subtle look but there is so much more lurking within…

Yes, I’m sure you guys have had thoughts that maybe he should go slightly lower and I must agree. I think the lower stance would give the car a much better look. I’ve talked to Salem a bunch of times about it already. The only thing is that it is already corner-weighted and balanced for his specific set-up. If he were to lower it some more he would have to go back and redo everything and that isn’t exactly cheap…

As the day was drawing near the close of the event, we began to take everything down. The award ceremony was going to start soon so we wanted to make sure to get up there and see who won…

While I was putting some stuff away in Salem’s TSX, we spotted this copy of Assparade #25 in his trunk. I guess his “friend” worked at a place that distributes that stuff so he got ahold of some copies…

…he also had this copy of a Brazzers DVD and I was like, “fuck it”, let’s see if anybody wants to buy this shit…What’s better than pornstars? Pornstars that like it big of course, this has to sell…

I walked over to the Praxis guys and they had a group nervous laughter about it, like when you want to buy some porn but your homies are around and everyone is trying to act like they don’t beat…

Then I asked Yee, who came all the way down to visit, and he thought hard about it, HARD….but then he said that it would disgrace his people who are from the “Hmong-tains” as he calls it. They traditionally can’t not beat off to any person who isn’t Asia Carrera and/or “likes it big”. I say Asia Carrera because his people are still stuck in mid-90s era pRon…haha…man that’s fucked up…

So I shouted out to Freddie from Autofashion, who was at the booth next to us, and I was like… “Yo, you want a copy of Pornstars Like it Big??”…

He was like…”What? Nah man…I actually already got that copy right here!” I guess it was a popular DVD…What are the odds?…

Okay, so it was awards time. Antonio from Motor Mavens did his usual routine of announcing the awards and I actually walked back to go make sure my stuff was all there still and to finally go take some pictures of cars. This was actually a perfect time to go because the lighting wasn’t so harsh and most of the people there would be up in the trophy area already…

Saw this Evo there wearing Voltex armor…this thing is dying for a wing. It just looks incomplete with the Voltex aero and no wing…

Another shot of Sam’s Spoon front…

Art’s S2000…

A couple of IS sedans and a Supra from the ItsJDMYo area…

The Autofashion line-up…

Why not another shot of Sam’s wheels and brakes…

Alexisthemovie was helping Antonio get some quick shots for his own personal blog…

Really clean, traditionally done-up DC2…

Really nice Accord wagon I always see…Heard he was getting a swap done soon too and he asked for Rywire for all the details on a harness and what not. Can’t wait to see that when it’s done…

Nice hatch on M7s…

Phil Robles’ track Civic…

This Lotus on Work RSZ-R wheels was badass. He has gunmetal ones on this side and on the other side he has the same Work wheels in white…

ATS*Ferd with his hood back on…

Milton’s 350Z…

LOVE THIS THING!…Oh man, this had to be one of the best cars at the show…Everything thing about it man, I love it…

Gotta give props to some of these guys who have been doing this for longer than any of us can remember…

Billy’s IS300 right before he won his “Showoff Auto” award, which is about the equivalent of a “best of show”…

Danny from Norcal’s Laguna Seca Blue 4-door…

I know one of you guys mentioned in one of the comments that I didn’t take any pictures of Juan Lemus’ del Sol. Well unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to go over to his area to take a good shot, but I did catch the car leaving…

One final shot of that sick ass TL that was in the Autofashion booth…

By this time, everyone was walking back over to their respective areas as awards came to an end. One dude that ran back in total shock was Sam. He was so excited that he won that he was running around hugging everyone. Guy acted like he just won the fucking lottery…haha. Or he won the NBA Championship or something. It was cool as shit to see him so excited. I guess we have all been a part of the culture so long that we’ve almost become kind of numb to the idea of winning. Sure it’s cool to win, but Sam truly appreciated it and took it for everything it was. The dude had his car plowed by a Jeep not too long ago on the street, and then the night before Nisei, someone rear ends him. And he still came out to show support and even won an award. It’s awesome man, congrats Sam. You really did deserve it…

Sam with his Best ES/FG award…

Tony won once again as well. I think he won “Sports Car Showoff” or something to that extent. Rack up another one for Tony, he’s had a great year…

Big Mike didn’t even expect to win anything and he came back with a Best Honda award. If anyone has had a good year, it would have to be Big Mike. Not only did he win Best Honda at Nisei 2010, he also won Best Honda at Wek’Fest. Both very prestigous awards that are terribly hard to win and Big Mike pulled it off. That speaks volumes for his build and the execution of his Prelude. It truly is one of the best around and he totally deserves the best that comes to him…

After that, people began to roll out and some of us stuck around to shoot the shit for a bit. We weren’t in any real rush to get home so we just decided to let all the other cars go first. After I got home, I knocked the fuck out and missed the festivities at DPK David’s house and the birthday party for Armando Flores Jr….

That’s all folks. I just want to thank everyone that has continued to show support for this site and those of you who came by the booth to either purchase some goods, or even just to pass a kind word in my direction. I spoke to so many people that day and it’s good to hear that so many of you enjoy the site. If I didn’t get a picture of your car, don’t take offense or be angry, I just had so much to do that day that I definitely know I missed out on a lot of cars. I would personally like to thank Salem, Big Mike, Tony Khamly, Arnel, Jared, and Sam for being in my booth and helping represent The Chronicles and The Top Ten Hondas of year’s past and present. Also would like to thank May, Doug, Travis, Ejay, Jenny, and everyone else that helped run the booth that day and help me set up and tear down. You guys are amazing and I am honored to have you in my life. Alright, time to go enjoy my mini-vacation in Norcal. Hope you guys enjoyed the coverage, I’m out….PEACE.

Remember…The Chronicles…Nobody does it better!

Nisei Showoff 2010 Coverage…Part 4…

Alright, back with part 4 of the Showoff coverage. Thanks to you guys we’ve had 3 consecutive record-breaking days for hits. I can’t thank you guys enough for showing your support for The Chronicles. With that said, let’s take a look at one of my nifty banners from the show and then let’s move on to more pics. Today will consist of more randomness and a couple of cars. Tomorrow will consist of more cars because I actually had more time to take pics of cars as the majority of the crowd remaining was over in the stage area for trophies….

A 201×13 -1954684 offset VS-XX wheel that Ralph had on display…I stuck my head into the barrel and I could see China on the other end…

A pair of S2000s from AS1. The top one belongs to some guy that I don’t know the name of and the one below is Alexisthemovie’s…

Alex is always pulling off some ridiculous fitment on his S2000…

Nice EM2 from AS1…

Haven’t seen a clean Civic from Hybrid in awhile…Notice the two-tone bay and the modified shock towers…

Was this the Civic that Yee brought down? Not sure…but it’s got potential…

This candy apple red paint job looked crazy on this DC…hope he garages this thing…

Ralph brought out these two Accord wagons with his custom re-barreled M7s…

Another shot of 20×13 VS-XX…

Really nice S2000 from Hybrid. I think this car may have been overlooked by a lot of the people at the show because it was burried in their display with all kinds of signs and blockades and shit…

Emerson taking some shots for his site…

Billy’s IS…

Linda’s Matrix, which ended up taking home an award…

People’s shadows getting into my shot…

Big Mike’s bay…not the greatest picture…

Salem’s J’s Racing wing…

Probably the most random combination ever…

Salem…

The Chronicles booth was busy all day…

…even though it was filled with people I already know…

Tony looking for the next great upskirt shot…

Me taking a picture of myself behind Big Mike and Salem…bam, mind-fucked….Actually, it looks like I’m a concierge at a hotel here looking up a room reservation for the two of them, who apparently are cuban drug lords trying to escape the policia. Yeah, pictures are worth a 1000 words and that’s the direction I went in…yuuup…

I don’t know what happened here. Apparently I walked into my own picture…

Mugen bolts on a the Ruckus…

…and Bride seats…

Billy’s HKS T51R turbo…

Matty trying to wash down those shit crackers he just ate…I tried one of those things and they’re like circles of cardboard death…

Perverts with cameras…

Maureen having some fun towards the end of the show…

The sun was starting to come down and the awards were coming up…I’m gonna stop here for today and then finish it up tomorrow with the final set of pics from Nisei Showoff 2010. Thanks for looking everybody and stayed tuned…

Nisei Showoff 2010 Coverage…Part 3…

Damn, I still have so many pictures to post from Nisei 2010. I had no idea I even took that many pictures. I have even taken the liberty of getting rid of a couple that I thought would be better off not used. Traffic has been amazing on this site lately and I couldn’t be happier with the feedback from the event. The pics above is actually Loi posing in front of this old crackhead white guy that was dancing to hip-hop provided by the Autofashion booth. Nobody had any idea how he got in there or why for that matter, but he was taking all the free shit from various booths and was just acting a fool by himself. He looked like he was on a good trip. He even took Yee’s water from him…

Here’s another cosplayer from some other cartoon I don’t give a shit about…I showed May this picture and she said it’s the guy from Bleach. I don’t know or care so I’ll have to take her word for it…

Today’s portion of the coverage will be based more on the Hondas. Around this time of the meet I actually took some time to walk around and take a more indepth look at the builds along with Big Mike and Tony…Here’s another quick shot of Salem’s TSX…

Tony’s NSX and his engine bay…the sun hit pretty hard at this time so the pictures have been processed slightly differently so that the light doesn’t take away from the detail of the cars…Hope you guys enjoy it this way…

Big Mike’s Prelude…

Jared’s S2…

Arnel’s hatch…

Another random shot of Sam’s RE30…

CR-X that looks like it makes huge power…

Kane’s timeless coupe…

Mr. JDM Wong of Super Street fame finally got the Nisei win that he has longed for…I believe he won the equivalent of a “Best JDM-themed vehicle” award…

TL with some crazy fitment in the Autofashion booth…

Loved the brake and wheel set-up on this GS…

Beautifully-done drag Civic…

Anthony from Infinit Wheels owns this clean Toyota Corona…

Kingdingaling’s bay…Fucking thing was spotless…

Jorge’s Civic…I believe he won the Best EG Civic award later that day…

A quick look at Auto Concept Elite’s display and their award-winning cars…

Levin from Infinit Wheels…

Abe’s bay…

Ejay’s, now with the H back in it after he blew it up last time…

ATS*Ferd’s…

DPK David…

ATS*Ron I think…

DPK JP…

One of my favorites of all time…Airbag Club aka Ryan Der’s EK…

Another personal favorite, Chris Sakai’s EK… I think I’ll be seeing this EK in the near future…Between Ryan and Chris, it’s a toss-up for best EK build of 2010…

A closer look at Anh’s Integra and his new system with red stitching and all…From a pure car show perspective, in terms of points and overall build, Anh’s Integra is basically untouchable at this point. He’s got all the facets covered except for custom paint. There isn’t anyone out right now that would even come close to being competiton for him…yeah, you heard it correctly. Just overall theme, build, parts, system, everything…you can’t touch him right now…

Jason’s wife Integra…I did a feature on this car not too long ago and now it looks completely different once again. Bay has been redone entirely and it looks great…

Sunny from Franklin Autobody in Norcal came down with the ATS guys and he brought out his bagged Insight…

I couldn’t get enough of ATS*Angel’s S2000…this thing is absolutely amazing! So aggressive with the custom widebody, the concave mag blue CE28Ns, and ITBs. Can’t forget the J’s Racing pieces either, and the beauty washers on the fender…Amazing…They said he drove all the way down from Norcal with on those ITBs with no issues…I love this car, no joke. He ended up winning the Best S2000 of the show too. Antonio said he didn’t know which S2000 it was when he announced the award but seriously, how can you not miss this car?…

As I walked over to snap a shot of ATS AJ’s Integra, I ran into none other than Gene Tjin. Nice to see that a guy who has built so many great cars of all makes and models and still come out to Nisei and appreciate a nice Honda build…

AJ’s bay…

Can’t forget about Darryl from DPK…I didn’t even know he was showing but I guess he decided to show up and whore his Mugen…

That’s all for today, hope you enjoyed the actual car side of the show…haha. Make sure to look below too because there’s another post below with a couple of larger desktop-sized images of some cars from Nisei. These were the pics that kind of stood-out to me while I was processing them and decided to post these up for you guys in appreciation of 2 consecutive record-breaking days of hits. We shattered the mark the first day and then followed it up with even more hits. Thank you everybody and enjoy the larger pictures in the post below…

Back with more tomorrow. Still plenty more to come…and I mean PLENTY…

A couple desktop images for you guys from Nisei…

I can’t thank everyone enough for logging onto The Chronicles to check out my coverage from Nisei Showoff 2010. It’s been an amazing year so far and these past two months especially, have been really good for the site. Yesterday we broke the all-time record for hits (the number actually shattered the previous record) and today, once again, we broke the record from the previous day in hits. It really gives me joy that you guys tune in to see the community through my eyes. Before I continue with part 3 of the Nisei 2010 coverage, here are various images from the show in larger format for you guys that want to use them as desktops. If not, just click on them to enjoy them in a much larger size than the typical format that is fitted to the layout of the site. Again, thank you so much. I can’t believe how much this site has grown and things look to be on the upside for the rest of 2010…Enjoy folks…

Also make sure to check out the store that’s been re-opened with the Nisei Edition Chronicles sticker as well as restocked shirts (now in 2XL)… The Chronicles Storefront

Nisei Showoff 2010 Coverage…Part 2…

Part 2, back with more…here we look at a couple more cars in the area near my booth and then lunch time, and other randomness…Oh, the store is also back open now for you guys that want to get the Nisei Edition Chronicles stickers and 2XL tees…

So happy I got that mesh screen/wall thing for our canopy. It actually helped out a lot with ventilation and provided more shade for us in the heat…

There were some pretty nice Ruckuses a couple booths down from us…

Bobby 8oate talking to Jared…

I handed the camera off to Doug for a little bit while I ran the booth, and he walked around and snapped some pics of this custom re-barreled BBS wheel…

…and the NOS models…

…where Natalia Marie apparently was talking about some dude’s junk…

I saw this crazy orange Corolla Levin while I was rolling up to the show and I’m glad Doug got a picture of it because I didn’t see it while I was walking around. I didn’t even know it had an F20C in it, this thing is bad ass…especially with those TE37Vs in all bronze…

After Doug came back, I asked him to help me watch the booth with Tony and Salem while we went out to grab some food…On our way out, we ran into Rywire and he came along as well…

We walked over to where the Nisei festivities were going on and ended up at The Frying Fish. It’s this hole in the wall spot where they make you sushi and place it on a conveyor-type system and the food just revolves around you…

I’m not really sure what Big Mike ordered but it was either spicy, sour, or hilarious…

After finishing our sushi, we walked next door to grab some cold drinks and ice cream…The guy working behind the counter apparently doesn’t like to tell you which flavor is good or want to help anyone at all because he was acting like a total bitch to Jared. The sad and funny part is that people who work at food establishments often treat Jared like that, it’s a gift and a curse…haha…

We walked outside and spotted this Samurai guy doing some slow motion tai chi dancing with this cosplay lady who was dressed like some cat lady from a cartoon I don’t give a shit about. The Japanese dad in the corner was looking at his wife and looked fearful for the future of civilization…

As I walked to another spot to grab some food for Tony, we ran into this creepy black dude with blue hair and nipples so erect he was possibly lactating and ready to feed. We overheard him telling the Japanese school girl that he was going to give her a “digi-gasm”, which is awkward and filled with rape…

When we got back to the show, we ran into the PGK guys from the east coast. Big Mike was saying what’s up to PGK Moe and looked at me when he realized that it was actually PGK Marqious. Awkward much?…

Loi came out to enjoy the show…

Big Mike chatting with Fred and some of the other ATS guys…

:|

Freddie counting down how many more seconds he gave David to speak to him about his GS he’s never gonna start building…

The Autofashion line-up…

Crazy ass fitment on this TL. I saw this thing rolling and it looked nuts…

Natalia Marie…

Ryan Ordinario’s EF…

David, Jackie, and a friend wondering how Arnel drives with no fan…

Sam’s mag blue RE30s and Spoon combo…I’m happy to see that these wheels are on there now and not the Mugen wheels. This flows much better with the car, especially for someone going with a full Spoon theme…

Junior came by to drop off some stuff and hang out in the shade for a bit…

Love this car, I’m starting to see it more and more now that he constantly shows with Tony and ItsJDMYo. No complaints here…

Norcal heads…

I’ve seen this 4-door a couple times before but I finally had the opportunity to take a closer look at it and I like it. The black Weds are a nice touch…

Phil Robles came out to show at Nisei which was kind of a surprise being that he is usually just a dedicated track guy and doesn’t normally do shows. I love this build and it has all the right combination of parts on it. It also helps that Phil is a super cool guy to talk to and always happy to be out at events…

This is Kingdingaling’s Civic… I think I only met him briefly when he picked up a shirt from me but I guess he’s a big fan of The Chronicles. I love the engine bay set-up on his car. It first caught my eye at Eibach and I couldn’t stop staring at it when I saw it at Nisei…

I wish I got to chance to hear this thing fire up. I can’t wait to stand in front of his car when he turns it on so that shit can blow in my face…

Abe from Infinit Wheels with his newly airbrushed hood…

ATS*Ferd’s Del Sol always looking fresh…

I actually have a bunch more, more indepth shots of the ATS cars but that will come later. For now here are some random snaps as I walked by…

ATS Anh’s DC…

Anh might be the only person out there that has a custom Chronicles sticker just for himself…haha. The guy loves teal…

He even has a touch of teal on his CE28Ns…

Soloman’s Accord…

Jason’s engine bay…this is random but he has the longest username on NWP…if you attempt to PM him your computer will explode…

Parnell’s DA…it’s rare to see this car out and about nowadays but you can always expect to see it at Import Showoff. I think he won Best DA 5 years in a row before the 2010 event…

Guys from 1320Racing…

Making sure the G35 has adequate tire pressure…

Hybrid hunny…

Gonna stop here for today with another shot of Sam’s Civic…I promise the pics get way better. I have so many to go through and the rest of it is mainly Honda stuff with more detail shots of engine bays and all that good shit…back tomorrow…

Store is back, Nisei Edition Chronicles stickers and 2XL T-shirts now available…

What’s up guys, just want to let everyone know that the Chronicles Nisei Edition sticker is now available. These were a huge hit at the Nisei Showoff and I couldn’t be happier with the stunning gold leaf material. They come in both gold leaf with black backing or white backing. Get them while you can because they are in limited supply…

Official Chronicles t-shirts are also now completely restocked and I also have 2XL available now for all you bigger peeps that wanted to rock a shirt but never could. I sold a bunch of these at Nisei so grab these while you can…

The Official Chronicles Storefront…

Nisei Showoff 2010 Coverage…Part 1…

So the 2010 Nisei Showoff has wrapped-up and I must say, everything went quite smoothly. Considering all the work that went into getting everything together for the booth and what not, things on show day went off without a hitch. Ken Myoshi and I had planned to do a special Chronicles booth where we would spotlight some of the previous Top Ten Hondas from the past year and the homies and I got together and we pulled it off. The hardest part was getting the cars together. Some were non-commital, some didn’t know if their cars would be done in time, and some didn’t even have their cars anymore. I had two cars drop out the last minute because they just couldn’t get their cars running right in time and I didn’t want them to drive a far distance and put themselves at risk so I had to look for replacements. I had a number of guys in mind but again, they either weren’t ready or they just couldn’t make it down. Luckily I had some good friends pull through and come day of show, I think the line-up looked great. I was up until about 5:30 or so the night before the show cutting stickers and making sure everyone had their stuff so I ended up oversleeping until about 7:15am. I was supposed to be there from 6:30-7 but like usual, I was late…Ken was looking for me and asking some of my booth cars where I was at and I hauled ass to get down there. By the time I made it there, it was probably 8:30 or so and we began to set up. Here’s a pic of our line-up that I snapped right after we finished…

Larger Version (1200×800)

…not the best picture in the world but I was occupied with other things. From left to right we have; Salem with his newly updated J’s Racing-themed TSX (2008 Top Ten Honda), Big Mike’s Prelude (2009 Top Ten Honda), Tony and his NSX (2009 Top Ten Honda), very special guest and very good friend of ours Jared and his S2000, Arnel’s Civic (2008-2009 Top Ten Honda), and Sam Ip’s Civic sedan from As1, who is well on his way to making the 2010 class of The Chronicles list. I had asked Sam to be a part of our line-up but he almost didn’t make the show. He was on PCH the night before and someone had actually rear-ended him. Unless you really walked around the car and looked at the rear bumper, you probably wouldn’t even have noticed it was damaged. We decided that he should come out regardless of the accident because he had worked so hard on getting it repaired after his other accident and it would be a shame if he let this minor accident prevent him from showing at Nisei…

A lot of time and effort went into putting this together and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the end result. The section looked to be a hit and we had heavy traffic all day with people buying Chronicles gear and checking out some of the best Honda builds in the country. I was busy manning the booth with May and the rest of the homies early on in the day so I really didn’t have a chance to walk around and take pictures, so the majority of the first part of the Nisei 2010 coverage will just be random stuff I caught and people shots, like I usually do. I didn’t go and look at most of the cars on the other side until later on in the day, so if I somehow missed you in the coverage, I apologize. I was busy throughout the day and just couldn’t capture everything that I wanted to…

Larger Version (1200×800)

Initial set-up, we were basically finished with the tent and tables and all that, just had to make sure Arnel got there…

A look inside our canopy. May made Munkey Munch, cookie brownies, and cookies for people that wanted to stop by and say what’s up or buy stuff…

Jonathan Wong from Super Street came by to chat and I snapped a shot of his shirt. For the younger cats out there, you probably don’t know what those logos represent but they are actually old school car crews that have been around long before you even knew how to drive or were into modified imports. These guys have been “down since day one” and Jonathan got them altogether to represent at what might be the last Nisei Showoff at this location…

Here is some of their line-up that day. Advan RGs, Fins, RnRs, and other timeless mods that keep their builds frozen in time back to their era when Hondas were clean and simple…

Bill’s award-winning IS300 and the ItsJDMYo booth right across from us…

Salem’s brand new J’s Racing front bumper… This bumper and the rear J’s wing changes the entire look of this car. Can’t wait to see more of Salem’s TSX at the track. I’m proud of this guy, one of the few that actually come through on every modification that they plan and don’t really let obstacles prevent him from reaching his goal…

Big Mike rockin’ the new 2XL Chronicles shirts, which will go up in the store very soon…If you’re a bigger dude, better jump on these while they’re available. I actually sold quite a few at Nisei…

DPK David biked over to say what’s up…When I say “what’s up”, I mean he kinda sat there and talked on the phone…=P

Billy…

The finalized line-up minus Salem’s TSX. There was a bunch of people staring at it and I couldn’t get it in the shot…You can see AutoFashion right next to us in the distance…

Norman, who I owe a big thanks to for helping me get ahold of Sam so that he could rep in the Top Ten Showoff section…The drinking at 11am is something I wonder about though..haha…

DPK Slappy aka Andrew was out and about all day snapping pics for MayDay Garage. I think he said he took like 1400 pictures or something…crazy…

Spotted a couple USDM Jam guys from Japan taking pics of the cars. I didn’t see Tetsuya around so I guess only a couple of the Japanese heads flew out…

Jimmy from Team Praxis looking all angry and shit…

Rywire helping Arnel put his stickers on…

Sam’s FD2 conversion and Spoon Sports bumper…

Hmmm…

Happy to see my homies represent…

The yellow tape was a little ghetto but we didn’t take into account that we had nothing to keep the banner up…haha…

Aaron Bonk from Skunk2 came by to chat…He gave us more details on the Skunk2 Unmeet that’s happening next month. I’ll probably post something up about it soon for you guys that want to come by and hang out…

Arnel’s bay is always a hit…

Thanks to Doug for always being helpful and taking scandalous pictures of models…

Jared with his original rear NSX-spec Mugen M7s on both the front and back of his S2000…

Matty chatting…

Haze from AS1…

DPK David’s cousin Chris’ little boy…

Big Mike…

Salem’s J’s Racing Edition Personal wheel…

Matty and Billy…

Everyone came out to check out Nisei, even Norman from N1 Concepts…

West coast hood poppers…

Art’s track-prepped S2000…

Not sure what they were talking about but ATS*Junior thought it was hilarious…

Maureen Chen was a special guest of Tony’s ItsJDMYo booth and even helped present the trophies at the end of the day…

More of Arnel’s car, including his -AN fitting into a Rockstar can…haha…

AS1 Sam…

Big Mike talking to a rep from Inline4…perhaps working on something for next year…

Gonna stop here for today…the chick that belongs to this ass was pretty irritating. She was running around passing out flyers all day for Asianmodelpalooza or some shit. Everytime she walked by she would try to hand me one of those fuckin things…I told her like 8 times I already got one and she still insisted on giving me one…

Anyways, that’s it for today. I promise it gets better when I actually start walking around later in the day. That and we ran into some random cosplay people during lunch that you gotta see, well if you’re into weird shit like that…A lot more Honda coverage this time around too….stay tuned…

Sneak peek…

Not many words can describe just how incredible the SS Work’s CR-X is…In fact, it’s probably one of the most sought after Hondas in the whole world. Not too many people know about the car, the owner, and the story behind the build but Honda Tuning finally got ahold of it and it’s coming to a newstands near you…Make sure to go out and get the “world” issue where Hondas from around the globe are spotlighted. Coming soon to a newstand near you…

It’s one of the best features I ever wrote and I say that because I say that about every feature I write…haha. This issue is so good you’ll churn the ghost of Abe Lincoln out of your peehole…Time to go save the world, PEACE…

RPM 2010: Irvine, CA coverage…Behind-the-Scenes…

As usual May was out there snapping pictures as well and she usually catches a lot of stuff that I may have missed or stuff that we’re doing that you guys don’t see because I’m busy doing coverage of cars and what not. Here’s her set of pictures. You’d be surprised by the types of things she captures…haha…

This is one of Tony’s ItsJDMYo banners…He’s got all kinds of shit on it, including model signatures and I think Natalia Marie or something has even kissed it and left her lipstick mark on it. He probably also has import model pubes stapled to it as well, I don’t know…

This is early in the morning when we were still setting up. Tony was filling out his tech sheet, Mikeyyyy was cleaning up David’s Civic, and Big Mike was talking to me about something on his car…

Sometimes when Big Mike is talking I kinda zone out and think about random shit. I think I was contemplating whether or not it was a good idea to park on soft ass grass and stand on mud all day…

David always uses this 3/8 socket extension to keep his hood open. Here we are trying to figure out how to do it and how to scratch up his paint as much as possible….

May and Tina walked off to go see what food they had and to use the restroom. Of course May wanted to show us how shitty it looked and here you go…

I think May was trying to take a picture of this truck but I found an opportunity to take a creep shot and I got in her shot…haha…

They Mikeyyyys…

Here’s Big Mike and I in Hawaii…

Big Mike in the Philipines…

Tina at the San Diego Zoo…

Thinking about what to eat…

Big Mike attempting to sit in Tony’s small ass Recaro seat…

Big Mike in creep mode while on the phone…

Hanging out in the shade…

David trying to look Puerto Rican as possible with glasses that don’t even fit on his head…

All of us talking to the Tjin brothers…

Here’s that guy that I was talking about in part 2 with the fanny pack doing the full-on prom pose…haha…

Tony and his videographer Daizo…

Shirts on sale this weekend!…

Some intense conversations going on here…

David ordering the girl to do the sketchiest poses possible on his car…

She obliged and May creeped the shot…

Not sure what I said here but Big Mike thought it was funny…

At work…

Random ass shots…

Creepin while David is in my ear saying “yeah get that shit…” haha…

Creep mode…

Black Pie farting on David’s cousin while he was sleeping…

Jumping starting my car with Tony’s because my shit was busted…=P

That’s all for today guys, and that’s REALLY a wrap on the RPM show. Make sure to come by the Chronicles booth this weekend at Nisei for the Top Ten display and to get exclusive Nisei edition goods…PEACE.

RPM 2010: Irvine, CA coverage…Part 3…The finale…

Okay, this is the last of it. Time to put RPM behind as and to look foward to this weekend’s Nisei Showoff event. Today I got the last bit of pictures from me as well and the pictures that May took of us running around doing dumb shit…Let’s roll…

Natalia Marie was doing some video segment for something or other, I don’t know. This is when DPk David, Big Mike, his cousin, and I were tryin to creep but at this point the show was so empty we couldn’t even hide anywhere. We ended up just standing in the middle of the field trying to snap pictures and the girls were staring right at us…

This girl, who looks a lot like Amy Reid (google her), was in particular uncreepable. Everytime I took a picture of her, she automatically knew where I was and always smiled at the camera. And sometimes I would be behind like 6 dudes and she would still spot me…GG lady, GG…

Then I walked over to the baseball field (yes you read correctly), where the Platinum VIP cars were parked. This Supra that was parked with them is also Super Street’s choice for the Castrol Syntec Top Car Challenge. Keep an eye out to see just how it did in the competition….

Clean GS on Junction Produce wheels…

No idea why they had a Direct TV booth there…

Milton’s 350Z that won the “Sittin’ Flush” award…if you were there and heard some guy yell out “bullshit!” when it was announced, yeah it was me…haha…

They had this dumbass machine there all fuckin day where people could pay $20 to get on this motorcycle and do a wheelie and get your picture taken or something. Fucking dumb. It was loud as shit and the same guy was on it the same day. You can tell how much fun it is by looking at this girl’s face. She was either fuckin terrified or just annoyed by the noise it was making the whole day….

Kt-So doin the “Oh no, an imaginary invisible bear is biting my neck” pose…

Enjoying the A/C…

The show was moving slowly so people began to clean up and take their displays down fairly early…Here is West Coast putting away their two door Charger…

Big Mike taking the larger banner stickers off for his drive home…

Okay, so at this point the wind was kind of picking up and there were little sand tornados forming randomly throughout the show. The Platinum VIP canopy was pulled up by the wind and actually flew over their motorhome that they had brought out and another one in a Honda dealerships booth had also flown up and hit one of their cars. That wasn’t even the worst of it. Directly next to us, one of the canopies caught air and flew over my car hit the Farmville car, a car behind it, and hit a small section of Mikeyyyy’s xB. Shit was crazy. When it was coming at us, I was like “fuck, if it hits my car then it hits it” but thank goodness it flew over. Big Mike saw the tent coming near his car and he fuckin teleported to the spot to stop it. Shit was wild. The Accord got scratched up pretty badly and the TC behind it had it’s mirror broken and front fender damaged…I wish I would have caught it while it happened but I was in shock and just saw it all unfold, literally…

While we were walking to the stage for awards, I snapped a pic of both Matty’s xB…

…as well as Goldmembers…

Misa Campo didn’t show up so Corissa Furr took over the duties of announcing the awards…

This is when David won his award and she butchered his last name and called him “David Android” and we started yelling it out as he walked to the stage…

Big Mike ended up winning “Best Daily Driver”…haha…

David looking like a proud 5 year-old with his Best Honda award. I could have sworn he won Best Civic but who knows…Phaze2 Tony also won Best Acura that day but I didn’t know where he was for me to snap a picture of it…

We were all registered as “Its JDM Yo!!” because Tony helped us get our spots at the show and we ended up winning for Best Team participation…Tony ended up taking $500 home and treating us all to Northwood Pizza after the show, it was awesome…

Auto Concept Elite ended up taking home a majority of the awards that day including Best Team overall…Everyone one of their guys had two trophies in their hands…

This guy won too, I think it was for Best Display or something like that…

Special shout-out to this guy…I had left my car on early in the morning and I kinda had a feeling my battery might be dead and it sure was. I ran around like chicken with it’s head cut off looking for jumper cables and this dude came out of nowhere and saved the day and had some cables I could use. Whoever you are, thanks again man…

That’s about it…Overall it wasn’t a terrible show. It didn’t matter really, whenever we’re all together with good friends there is always bound to be some good times…I have some behind the scenes stuff with May so make sure to peep that.

RPM 2010: Irvine, CA coverage…Part 2…

Back with more…again, a couple not safe for work pics so be forewarned…

Tony’s shirts were quite popular that day. In hindsight I should have worn the one he gave me but I’m an asshole…

Auto Concept BMW…

Mikeyyyy’s CCWs…

This thing was a blast from the past…even had the original Import Showoff sticker on the windshield still…Dual angled GReddy exhausts, all white vinyl interior, Black Widow rear and sides, R33-style front end (I think the company Sinsei was making them back then), and real deal Racing Hart C5 wheels. Kind of a shame he did that shitty graffiti work to it or else it could have been almost spot on with how many Integras looked back in the early 2000s…

Chillin’ in the shade…

Weds Kranze Vishunus…always thought it was “vishnu” but I went on the Weds site and it is indeed “Vishunu”…

Maybelyn…who was out creepin as well and took some good shots for you guys. I’ll get those up after I go through them…

Okay, so I was taking random shots like this, which frankly didn’t come out very good, and then I look up at the AngelsnBabes booth next to us and I see this…

…I was like…”Whaaaat…I think I can see what that girl had for lunch…”…

I stood there a little bit longer just to make sure that her butt actually closes and yes, it does… thank goodness…who knows what would have fallen outta there…

Professional creepers have the most elaborate equipment for taking pics. You can see the guy here has some flash that had a retractable cord and everything…that shit would do me no good because it’s a widely known fact that I have the uncontrollable shakes and I can’t take a picture with one hand. I would need some sort of aparatus that strapped to my head or something…

This dude had a big ass flash attached to his little ass camera…

…to take a picture of these big ass titties on this little ass female…

Here’s that shirtless asian dude again with the Euro Projektz model…

All bad…

Okay, so we got hungry and thirsty again so we headed back to the food area again…

On the way there, I spotted this IS-F in the GReddy booth…

This dude was so huge that he made that big ass turkey leg look small…

Was tryin’ to creep on Christine Mendoza…

…but she caught me…

We got some food from the Hawaiian BBQ spot there and sat at the tables again where we saw that one model putting lotion all over herself. This time, DPK David, Black Pie, and David’s cousin was with us and they decided to go talk to the girls. I handed the camera over to David and he did a bit of creepin while Pie and Chris distracted the models…

Not sure what was going on but she started shoving things into Pie’s pocket…

Look at this guy…shaking hands and being all polite and shit…haha…

The dude behind Chris looks like a character from Tekken or something…haha…

…………………..tits………………………..

GReddy booth…

Tina got some shaved ice and we headed back to the booth…

Mikeyyyy’s ridiculous wheel fitment…

We got back just in time for Big Mike’s car to get judged…

More Big Mike…

Jose Romo’s Audi…

Oh man, speaking of creepin’, this guy was straight CREEEEEPY. He was around our area the whole day and pretty much stalked this girl that was at the booth next to us. I wish I would have taken the picture like a second earlier but he had his arms around her like a straight up prom picture. It was WEIRD! Dude was rockin’ the fanny pack like it was 1987. I didn’t wanna say anything cuz the dude might have a gun in there or some shit…You just never know with these dudes…

Tony from itsjdmyo taking a much needed break…the guy didn’t even sleep the night before because they were stuck there so long trying to set-up for the show…

Finally got to meet Gene Tjin after all this time and here is an awful picture of him talking to Black Pie…

Widebody Civic…Justin Fong I think is his name…not the car but the owner I mean…

Oh okay, so by this time, that model that we took all those pictures of from part 1 came by our area. Of course David wanted pictures of her on his car so they got her to climb all over it…I didn’t really care to include David’s car in the pictures but it’s in there somewhere…haha…

You can see that creepy fanny pack guy in the background…

I wish she would have been there when I shot David’s car a couple months back, maybe she could have aligned his bumper for him…haha…

I finally decided to switch lenses and take pictures of cars…

Love this IS…

Tony and the rest of our line-up that day…

A shot of Tony’s interior…

Farmville Accord with the fake cheese and all…

S2000 that I showed you guys in part 1…Big Mike was like “What’s up tire shine?”…haha…what an asshole…

Team Praxis TL…

Ran into her again…

Girl climbing all over the BMW…

Wild CB7 from Swift. I think he ended up winning an award but I don’t remember what…Definitely not my style but I can respect it…

We went back to our tent and got bored again so decided to go creep one more time before the day was over, but we’ll continue tomorrow with part 3…

=O

Thanks for looking…Remember Nisei is this weekend, and I’m sure the coverage will be more Honda-oriented…

Store news…

Ah just a quick announcement for you guys, I’m gonna close up the store for the rest of the week to catch up on all the orders as well as work on stickers for this weekend. Make sure to come out and buy some because it’s going to be a little cheaper and easier for me because I don’t have to package it and ship it to you guys. That and I’m generally lazy. I’m also sticking this in here just to break up the coverage from today and what’s coming later today, so it doesn’t try to load up both pages which would mean like over 100+ pictures…so yeah, I’m outta here. Stay tuned for coverage in a bit…

RPM 2010: Irvine, CA coverage…Part 1…

Oh man…let’s see, where do I begin with this show…Uhh..I guess roll-in was a bit of a pain in the ass. We were supposed to roll into the venue on Friday night but I couldn’t make it and it turned out to be for the better. They scheduled roll-in from 8-9pm but I heard that the majority of the people didn’t get to leave until around 2am in the morning. After I heard about that, I slept comfortably knowing I didn’t have to go through that but expected there to be a shitload of cars there. I mean, if roll-in took 4-5 hours longer than expected, that must mean that there were so many cars that they didn’t know where to put them right? So I get up the next morning, bright and early, and head down to Irvine to bring my car in. From doing this show, I have learned that I never want to do another show on grass and mud. Shit was not the business…Anyway, so with the mess that was roll-in the night before I get inside the venue and a majority of it was empty. I mean, it’s a pretty decent sized lot and the event was completely undersold. There was literally a gigantic portion of the grass area that wasn’t used. There was also patches of mud where people would get stuck too (I’m foreshadowing Tony being stuck in the mud)…

Cars overall were pretty weak. Aside from Auto Concept, Euro Projektz, our group, and a few vendors, there was absolutely nothing to look at or snap pics of. They also had a very large group of motorcycle guys showing, which was weird. I’m not just talking about like street bikes and crouch rockets. Not even Ruckus’, even though they showed as well. I’m talking like big ass Harley’s and custom choppers. Shit was weird. I felt like I was at a NOPI event in the midwest or some shit. The whole show was just a little odd for my tastes. I guess because I’m used to being on concrete and not having to hear guys with choppers revving their motors every 10 fuckin minutes…

I also heard from Tony that the RPM spokesmodel, Misa Campo, didn’t even bother to show up to the event because she had been out late the night before or something. You know there is something wrong with your show when your own spokesmodel doesn’t even want to show up for it. I don’t know her nor claim to know anything about her, but I spoke to another promoter who has also had issues with booking her and dealing with her attitude or something. I don’t wanna elaborate on it any further but I guess she’s not the easiest person to get ahold of. That may or may not be RPM’s fault. Funkmaster Flex was supposed to be there as well as stated on the official website and he also didn’t show up. That’s a real issue when people you book for your event don’t show up. I mean, come on…

Overall, I don’t think I would do a show like this again. I was supposed to do coverage for Super Street as well and I honestly couldn’t give them anything that they could really use because there just wasn’t anything out there. No matter what though, whenever we are together with the homies, there is always some crazy shenanigans that occur and it ends up being a good time. There was definitely some firsts though that I experienced at RPM that I didn’t see before…There was like, mini sandstorms throughout the day and I saw a couple canopies go up in the air and land on cars and fly over motorhomes, shit was ridiculous. I’ll get more into it as the pics go up…

Since there wasn’t really any cars other than the ones you usually see on here, there won’t be much car stuff. They did put us near a model booth though, which is never a good idea for us. Because we get bored and we go creep and just take pictures of models at the show. This makes The Chronicles a very NSFW environment. Haha…make sure to be ready to see some stuff that you shouldn’t be viewing from work. Even with the small amount of cars there, I still managed to get a shit load of random pictures, so be prepared for the onslaught of pictures…Anyways, enough talking…enjoy…

DPK David’s bay…before tanned ass found it’s way onto his intake manifold…

Milton aka CamberSC hawkin me in the background…what a weirdo…

Tony from It’s JDM Yo putting stickers on DPK David’s car. This guy was the one responsible for getting our spots at the show so we gotta give it up for Tony…he was pretty worn out that day so I took on the responsibility of creepin’ for him…

Big Mike fulfilling his sponsorship duties…

This dude had a pretty elaborate display. Strange, but yes, elaborate. I guess since he was parked on grass, he decided to do a “Farmville” theme with fake wooden fence, fake bricks of cheese made out of wood, and a Got Milk sign. He was parked next to us so we were watching him and like 14 other people assemble the thing, it was crazy. Not a bad looking car though…I could do without the fake Recaros and the green cage that looks to be made for another vehicle but overall, it’s a clean street car….

Plenty of custom Ruckus’s were there. I wish I would have taken more pictures of them but I honestly don’t now what I’m looking at…

Nice S2000 with a CR front bumper on it. I haven’t really encountered too many of these with the fender and CR bumper combo…not sure how it’s supposed to fit because it looks like there are some issues in the corner. For the most part it looks pretty good. Love the wheels too…

West Coast Customs was there on display and they brought out their 2-door Charger…this thing is baaaaadddd…

Travis was there but I didn’t see him much that day. He was probably running around showing his cauliflower ear to models and threatening to suplex small children…

Phaze2 Tony thinking about what to do to his NSX for the next show season…

Make sure to remember this moment…because all the later pictures of her is her withouth much clothes on…*creepy wink*…I honestly had to go back and check because I didn’t recognize her with clothes on…

This is Tommy’s M45 with his new Accu-air suspension done by Midnight Garage. You don’t know him and he doesn’t keep up with this site because he’s too cool, but his M was the car that was inside Midnight Garage when it burned down. This isn’t the same car of course because the other one was destroyed but he went out and got another one and this one probably ended up coming out better than the other one did…I mean, without the fire…

We went to grab some food and that was one thing they did have a lot of. It looked like a mini fair with turkey legs, bbq, shaved ice, etc…

HeyTinaaaa…

Big Mike got a “chicken burrito” that ended up being more of a lettuce wrap because there was no chicken to be found…

I saw this model applying lotion all over herself so I agreed to watch her do it…She was very thorough…

…then her friend next to her was like, “go stand really far away and eat chili cheese fries with May and take pictures of me signing stuff and I’ll pretend not to notice.”…I agreed…

GReddy 350Z…

Goldmember’s new fender flares…

Matty’s xB…

BJ Jaraba’s Fit…I really wish he would have kept it the way it was after his cover in Honda Tuning magazine. It was perfect then…

We were at the main ItsJDMYo tent throughout the day and this one was on the opposite end of the 25 cars that parked with us…All those guys in that tent were the guys from Team Praxis…

Caught Brian from Auto Concept spitting game at this girl…I waited for the long conversation to end before I showed him this pic…

…of the same homegirl pickin’ her teeth HARD…haha…

1st Place Best Engineered Haircut at RPM…

Big bikes…

My good buddy “Guy with Dickies shirt on” posing with “I think I’ve seen her asshole online” and “girl I thought was Maureen Chen”…

That AngelsnBabes booth was right next to ours so I would always walk over there to see what randoms hit I could find… Eagles were spread…

Clean CR-X from Praxis…

Went with Big Mike to go creep…

She was probably the most active throughout the day…walking around and taking pictures with whoever asked…like how “models” are supposed to be before they get too big headed and don’t pose with cars any longer. Yeah, some are actually like that…

Euro Projektz had this whole like summer beach theme going on so their models were all in bikinis and stuff… it was a good idea except that the members themselves thought it would be a good idea to play along as well, which lead to a lot of pale asian dudes walking around with no shirts on… =P

They made this girl do everything…while she was wiping cars down, the shorter asian one was climbing all over people’s cars and shit…

Black Pie enjoyed the view…

Auto Concept Supra… Everytime I took a picture of a car, I turned around and saw this…

There’s more…

…Auto Concept RX-7…

I think she caught me creepin’ right here…either that or she found the topless asian male to be funny…

Auto Concept STi…

Still putting in work…

G37 sedan on R35 wheels…

Auto Concept G37…as wild as it gets…

This was the clickable picture from yesterday so if you guys want to see the larger version of it, go back to yesterday’s post…

Auto Concept K-powered titanium everything Mini…this car consistently wins Best of Show at car shows over here, and deservingly so…

Auto Concept Top Secret Supra again…

Really clean TSX parked in the Platinum VIP section…

Linda’s Matrix from Praxis…

Jimmy’s FJ Cruiser from Praxis with 5 6-lug Gram Lights…

Be cr-ack tomorrow with more pics…yay puns…

Thanks for looking…

RPM Car Show *Instant Bonus Creeper Shots*…

Hmm…well that was an interesting show. I’ve got quite a bit to say about the show but there’s just so many pics to finish up and what not and on top of that, some of them might be headed to print. Once I get confirmation on that then I will post up part 1 of the coverage. For now, here is a preview shot of what we did the majority of the time at RPM…which was just blatant creepin’…so enjoy…

Oh…this is probably not really all that safe for work…Click on the link for a larger pic. I’ve also included an additional picture. I don’t really like teasers all that much so think of this not as teasers, but as a “bonus”… The two pics are pretty large too so wait for it like old school AOL days when you used to look at pron. Shit took so long you probably squeezed one out before the picture even finished loading…anyways, enjoy…

Thank me later…

Oh and HUGE shout-out to Tony from It’s JDM Yo!! for taking care of us at RPM and inspiring me and the rest of the homies to creep into unparalleled levels of perversity…Tony is the “T” in TnA…

…and the “A” is for Android, which apparently is David’s last name, according to Corissa Furr who announced the awards at RPM. David Android is always the first one to volunteer his Civic for half-naked women to climb all over.

Even LARGER Creeper Shot (1000×1500)…

Double Bonus FAP shot for the dudes with weaker forearms (1000×1500)

This…is…AMAZING…

The video below will change how many of you view the CR-Z and it’s potential to be a build-worthy Honda…It’s 16 seconds of awesome. I know the CR-Z looks like a woman’s shaver and is a bit quirky looking but with some many big companies involved in developing parts for it, the CR-Z market will definitely grow. It’s pretty popular in Japan and it should only be a matter of time before these things make waves stateside…

I would say the video is “pure sex” but I don’t like to use that term because I’ve watched too many adult videos to have any inclination to even know what “pure sex” is… You gotta watch the video though, it’s not sexy in any way but the sound of it is almost like a rhinocerous getting mounted by a mutant giraffe who only eats kimchee quesadillas from the Kogi truck…now imagine Diddy saying…”take that, take that…” with a toothpick in his mouth…yah picture that…

Enjoy…

Oh, remember to turn the speakers up…

Extras…

Just a couple of extra shots from Sheepey’s HT shoot a couple months back. Now that the issue has hit the stands and is going to be replaced with the latest issue, I figure I’d throw these up. Kinda gives you guys an idea how it looks when they shoot these cars in a studio environment…

That’s about it for today, RPM show tomorrow in Irvine, CA so make sure and come hang out if you got the time…

Setting up for the cover shot. You can see here that the cars are rolled in and pushed instead of driven around because of all the white floors and walls…Driving things in and out would just cause a mess…This is also where other mags like Hot Rod shoot as well…

Bumper removal and what not for detail shots…

Rodrez at work…

Here you guys can get an idea of how the room actually looks and the gigantic lighting apparatus… I think this whole studio was priced somewhere near like a nice home or more…It was cool to see it because it moves around however you like it too. Shit is serious…

Post-shoot, rolling the car back out onto the trailer…

The bay…

Big ass Bullseye turbine…

Rywire harness with AEM EMS, ignition box, and custom enclosed relay box…

You can tell from the last two shots that only one side of the wheels were color-matched. At that time Sheepey was still unsure of whether or not he was gonna keep it that way so he just did one side…

That’s all for today, have a good weekend everyone…

NISEI.SHOWOFFxTHE.CHRONICLES revealed…

I’ll be honest, I should have done a better job of getting the word out there maybe a couple weeks ago but both Ken Myoshi and I have been so busy that it’s just been hard to do so. I’m pretty sure I brought this up once or twice before but for those of you who don’t know, Ken hit me up a while back when he announced that it was going to be possible to do Nisei Showoff again. Big Mike had been posting up randomly on the NWP forums about maybe doing something big for The Chronicles for Nisei and Ken liked the idea. It was just a matter of getting a hold of eachother to iron out the details. I was flattered when he hit me up, afterall, this is a rather small operation in the bigger spectrum of what Import Showoff has done the last decade. He told me he wanted to do a spotlight section where I would have a booth and I would highlight the previous Top Ten Hondas of years past. It sounded like a good idea and I told him I was down, we just needed the Hondas. The last two years have presented some great builds to the site but there are maybe half of them that either don’t exist anymore or the cars have been parted or sold. I hit up some of the guys who I knew were still going strong and have even changed their set-ups to make their cars even better. These guys were cool enough to agree to do it and I think I have a pretty solid line-up for you guys, maybe even some surprises…

Of course you will have to wait until Nisei to see them but if you guys could help me spread the word about this, it would be much appreciated. It is only a week away and I’m sure everyone is already excited. Doing the “Top Ten Showoff” would only add to the excitement. I still have a bunch of stuff to figure out before then but here’s a breakdown of what The Chronicles will be offering at Nisei Showoff 2010…

-We’re looking at 4-5 of the Top Ten Hondas from year’s past. Some making a return from hiatus, some with new set-ups to surprise the crowd

-I will have a booth there along with the usual suspects and like Eibach, May might be making some cookies…haha.

-By popular demand, I will finally have XXL Chronicles shirts for the big boys. Everytime I’m at an event someone has been asking me when I’m gonna make some bigger shirts and it’s finally happening. I will also have the usual sizes as well so if you guys want a Chronicles tee, make sure to stop by the booth and grab one while they last.

-A limited Nisei Showoff edition Chronicles decal. Everyone knows I’ve been making limited cuts and colors of the Chronicles stickers for every major event and the tradition will continue. The “Championship Edition” stickers are gonna be taken down soon to make way for the Nisei Showoff Edition sticker. I’m debating on whether or not I want to release these before the show or just make these available to showgoers first before putting them up online.

-Of course I will be providing event coverage as only The Chronicles can provide. I’m sure all of you who are showing will have your best on display and I can’t wait to see it all.

-Possibly some “Special Guests”…you never know ;)

I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty stoked for this event. Nisei Showoff is an event I always get hyped for but being able to do this collaboration with Ken Myoshi and Showoff makes it that much better. I hope to see you guys out there. I know a couple east coast/mid-west  peeps will be coming out too so it’s just gonna be a blast. NISEI.SHOWOFFxTHE.CHRONICLES 2010

Super Street FF Battle 2010…Day 3…

Back for more…this is the last batch of pics from the FF Battle. I didn’t stay very long because I had a prior engagement and had no idea what other cars came out. If you’re not pictured, sorry, I wasn’t around…

The competitors at FF Battle minus the Hasport Civic, white coupe, and Morgan’s CTR. The playing field was level and much more interesting from last year. Runs were close…

Jared finally put all four of his wheels back on and decided to come hang out…

Big Mike’s Prelude of course…

Morgan’s CTR…

Everyone was interested in the J32 swapped Civic from Hasport…

Henry Dekuyper and the SS crew were doing bay shots for the FF Battle spread that’s going to be in a future issue of Super Street…

Circuit Hero DC2…and my cousin came all the way from San Diego to check things out and probably snap pictures for his site…

949 wheels up front, Mugen in the rear…

Circuit Hero tent…

DPK David decided to roll up along with…

…Darryl from DPK…kinda rare to see his car out because he usually riding along with Carlos aka Mugen Boy…

The two of them looking at something…probably listening to Sheepey talk about how confused he was with the concept of racing where cars turn…

Sheepey…

Jared…

Ryan aka Rywire…

Whatever Ryan was saying, Morgan apparently was entertained…

More Circuit Hero DC2…

Still looking pretty good after battle…

Parked for a photo…

Just one more wouldn’t hurt…Can’t get enough of this thing. Can’t wait until he gets his Chargespeed fenders on and new wheels…

Random shot…

Another one…

David meets Phil…

As I was leaving, I saw this yellow hatch roll up… Pretty nice car, just needs a front lip to really set it off…

That’s about it. The event wrapped up later that day and the official layout and results should be available in a couple months to everyone. Then you guys can find out who won and what car ran what and how they performed out there. I honestly don’t even know but from what I saw I think I had a fairly good idea of who eventually took the whole thing. I could be wrong though. All I know is that this years was much closer than last year and overall the cars were a lot more competitive. I talked to Charles Trieu for a little bit and asked him how he felt about the event overall and he felt that the cars were “much cooler” than the year before. I gotta agree with that. This is just the second year and it looks to be on the rise. It’s gonna be cool to see what kind of Hondas come out for 2011…

Super Street FF Battle 2010…Day 2…

Ahhh, finally caught up on sleep. Now we can finally get to day 2 of the FF Battle. Again, I’m not gonna release any kind of results or who was winning, or generally any numbers because those are kept under wraps until it all goes to print but this is just the stuff I caught from FF Battle. Day 1 was the dyno sessions and 2 was the official race day at Autoclub Speedway…Exclusive shit, only seen on The Chronicles…Let’s roll…

Raceline FA…

Hasport J32 Civic and an FA5 turbo…

This coupe belongs to Kane and was built and stayed in pretty much the exact same condition (aesthetically) long before many of you probably even knew how to drive…

Very simple on the outside but the car made very good power…

Not sure whose car this was but it was clean…good fitment on the Enkeis too…

After that run, it was getting a little too hot on the track and it was near the end of the day so we took off to Skunk2 for awhile to go hang out…

Salem and Aaron Bonk…possibly talking about plans for Salem to run at next year’s FF Battle…

Random shots of Salem’s ride while I was chillin…

That’s it for today, back with a couple more from Day 3 tomorrow…
