Wekfest Texas 2012 Coverage…Part 2…

Back now with a quick update for part 2 of our Wekfest Texas 2012 coverage…I say “quick” because I want to devote this post to the remaining of the cars that I captured during the roll-in process the morning of that day. This makes it easier and separates the coverage from the roll-in to the actual show. That way the cars aren’t redundant and you don’t have to wonder why you’re seeing the same cars over and over again. The shots of the cars that you do see repeat shots of were either cars that I really liked or just positioned at a perfect moment in time that morning. I’m sorry to say that I don’t have a photo of every single car at the event. Time just did not allow that to happen and I typically don’t do that stuff anyways. I already take so many photos at every event where I would rather save the space for cars that I really liked or wanted to show you guys. In any case, I got a deadline for work I need to meet tomorrow morning so I’m just gonna go through the rest of the photos from that morning and then move onto the show in the following parts to come. Thanks for looking guys. I’ll try to tell you guys more about the show in length tomorrow, for now, sit back and enjoy these behind-the-scenes shots from Wekfest Texas…

If you missed Part 1, I encourage you to click the link below to check it out before you move on to today’s post…

Wekfest Texas 2012 Coverage…Part 1…

With that out of the way, here comes part deuce…

IMG_4340-Edit

Chris Young’s supercharged (authentic) Mugen RSX from Team Emotion…This DC5 had basically Mugen everything minus the gold Volk CE28s…

IMG_4339-Edit

Really liked the simplicity of Kevin Gerlach’s Nissan 370Z, also from Emotion…

IMG_4343-Edit

Work VS-XXs are everywhere now but it’s still cool to see them in different colors other than the more popular silver and gold finishes. Also, I don’t know if many people knew but this Z34 was also bagged…

IMG_4344-Edit

Bryan Bui’s C-West CR-Z was a very cool build. I was happy that I got a chance to judge the Honda Class at Wekfest because I got to see what all went into everyone’s builds. Bryan’s is unique because it is one of the few CR-Zs rocking the full bumper C-West aero and it also has a Top Secret CR-Z turbo kit. Can’t say I love the wheels on this car but I give him props for going with a central theme and sticking with it. It’s just one of those really well-rounded builds that we have all come to expect from the Emotion crew…

IMG_4409-Edit

Oh man, this Civic was a real gem… For you younger guys you probably don’t think much of it but for many of us, this represents a period-correct EG build from the early/mid 2000s. I loved that this thing was still intact with the full Wings West kit, turbocharged B-series, Denji projectors, and real Racing Hart C2 wheels… Props to the owner of this car for keeping his Civic the way it was and not having to live up to current trends. Owner had an awesome name too, I think it was Phuc Nguyen…

IMG_4347-Edit

I don’t know too much about this S13, but from what people told me that morning, it is a legit S13 Silvia that was once owned by Top Secret. The colorway and wheel selection isn’t indicative of how Top Secret typically builds cars but with the graphics and all that, it seems like a legit story… Cool car either way, also from the Emotion camp…

IMG_4326-Edit

As I stated in part 1, 350Zs were just fucking everywhere at Wekfest Texas. It had to have been the most popular chassis at the show and a bulk of the Z33s came from BRG, including this one on Work VS-KFs…

IMG_4330-Edit

These guys from BRG apparently are just down to drive their Zs as low as possible. Props for being down to just rub the floor everywhere you go…

IMG_4332-Edit

One of only two Mazda Speed 3s at Wekfest that day, this one looking good on Volk RE30s…

IMG_4335-Edit

Infiniti G37 on Work Schwert SC2s…

IMG_4349-Edit

Civic on aggressive CCW LM5s from car club, “Low-Weezy-Ana”…

IMG_4351-Edit

Nissan 370Z on what looks to be 20-inch Volk RE30s…

IMG_4358-Edit

Tom Syhachack’s S2000 from Team 5star being unloaded off of the trailer…

IMG_4361-Edit

While that was going on, I captured this Scion xB on chameleon JLine wheels…

IMG_4366-Edit

Unloaded…

IMG_4368-Edit

IMG_4376-Edit

Shout-out to the owner of this FA5 Civic for the custom “Gangnam Style” tape work…Pretty legit and way better than the typical jizzing penises people put on their cars, haha…

IMG_4370-Edit

Evo X on WEDsport SA55Ms with matching spoke windows from “Low-Weezy-Ana”…

IMG_4371-Edit

Saw Fernando Huerta cruising up to the staging area in his authentic Mugen del Sol…

IMG_4378-Edit

I totally forgot that he had brought his del Sol out to the Eibach Meet this year so it was cool to finally get a closer look at it in his home state of Texas…

IMG_4372-Edit

Another car that I had seen plenty of photos of online prior to Wekfest Texas was this Spoon-equipped S2000 on NSX-spec Regamaster EVOs owned by Christian Santiago from Team 5star…

IMG_4373-Edit

Always been a fan of how the more aggressive NSX-spec EVOs looked on S2Ks…

IMG_4381-Edit

Subaru WRX STi with a simple Chargespeed lip kit and Enkei NT03s…

IMG_4382-Edit

Rami Qasem’s dark teal pearl S2000 on gunmetal-faced Volk TE37SLs… You probably don’t recognize this S2K but it was actually featured in Import Tuner not too long ago. It didn’t have the hardtop when it was shot though and the car was also on white Work Emotion CR-Kais then…

IMG_4369-Edit

Another shot of Bryan Bui’s CR-Z…

IMG_4380-Edit

…and another of Gerlach’s 370Z…

IMG_4386-Edit

Beat and hammered Zenki S14 on Work Emitz…

IMG_4387-Edit

Friends watched on as Jorge Torres prepped his del Sol for the show…

IMG_4397-Edit

Thought this was a cool shot with Austin, Texas in the backdrop…

IMG_4394-Edit

View from behind of Syhachack’s S2000…

IMG_4403-Edit

The moment this Eclipse rolled-up it immediately caught my eye. Out here in Cali, you don’t see very many DSM Eclipses, Talons, etc. anymore but this one was bananas… Their were only two Eclipses at Wekfest Texas but this one was really impressive…

IMG_4405-Edit

I have another shot of Richard Cayetano’s Eclipse engine bay later on but this was the only shot I was able to capture that morning…

IMG_4407-Edit

Lexus IS300 flared to house SSR Viennas…

IMG_4412-Edit

MK5 GTI on bags with a set of gold-faced CCW Classics…

IMG_4400-Edit

Closing it out for the morning roll-in portion of our coverage with another shot of Tom Syhachack’s S2000 from Team 5star…

IMG_4401-Edit

…and a quick shot of his tucked bay…Nice build. Could still use some work in the engine bay but so far so good…

Thanks for looking, still much more to come!…

  1. Awesome pics and Coverage!! Cant wait to see more

  2. DOPE cars. That s14 on Emitz is raw as #@$%

  3. Too bad that Chris’ RSX wasn’t his to begin with. Buying someone elses car and claiming it’s yours is no props in my book.
