M&M Honda Collection…
I’ve been on a real M&M Honda kick lately on Facebook and since I remembered that many of you aren’t on Facebook, I figured today would be as good of a day as any to just unload a bunch of photos from their Facebook page. I posted up a photo of the M&M FD2 over the weekend and I didn’t even know they followed The Chronicles. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t even know they had a Facebook page for their company so I was surprised when I clicked over and saw so many great shots of their cars on their page. They were full-size too so I took the liberty of downloading them and re-sizing them to fit the format of this page. If you are a member of Facebook and want to “Like” or follow them, I will include a link below of their page. Today, we are going to take a moment to check out their collection of builds produced in-house from their facilities. A lot of their aero components are from various other tuners but they do manufacture their own parts, be it performance or aero-related. I’ve been familiar with their shop for a couple of years now but they aren’t all that well-known worldwide compared to say, Mugen or Spoon Sports so some of you may very well have not heard of them before this. You’ve probably seen some photos of their cars here and there, but didn’t know that they came from this shop. The Japanese Honda scene is very different from our own. The majority of the more “built” Hondas over there are built with track or circuit racing in mind and aren’t driven very much on the streets or taken to local meets. Some of them are just pure-bred race vehicles so the only time you will ever see photos of them are on the track. In any case, check out the pics below. As for specs, I wish I had more information on the cars but I don’t. I am not all that familiar with their stable of cars and some of them I too am seeing for the first time. Many of the photos are also dated as well and pretty old. They are just an assortment of shots that they posted up and range from the early-mid 2000s to now…
This DC2 is probably a build that you have seen once or twice before if you regularly peruse Integra photo threads on your favorite Honda forums…
It’s one of my personal favorite Integras of all-time and I was pretty happy when I stumbled upon more photos of it…
I love how the front fenders are done as well as the rear fender flare. The C-West kit usually looks so bulky but with flares like this, it actually makes the car look more complete…
This thing is just all business…Cool to see Regamaster Evos being utilized too…
A couple shots of a more streetable version of their DC2…
M&M Honda EK9…
C-West aero just like the Integra…
Rocking some Altezza-style Civic taillights, haha….We will let it slide since the rest of the car looks on point…
M&M Honda CL7 is another one of my favorites…
Wish I had a better shot of the bay but it seems these guys have no problems mixing Spoon Sports and Mugen products on their race cars…
AP Racing brakes…
An older shot of it before the graphics and other additions….
Best shot of the bay that I could muster….
Another CL7, not sure if this is one of their customers or one of their other personal demo cars….this one sits on BBS LMs…
M&M DC5R….
Mugen front bumper with custom ventilation…
Some bigger photos, these are like HDR style or something…I didn’t do any of it so if you don’t like it, don’t blame me, haha…
Interior of the DC5R….
Weird how it has individual throttle bodies but the air box is still in place…maybe this was an unfinished shot…
Cool shot of the canards and the SSR Type-C wheels…there is also a glimpse of the AP Racing brakes as well…
Really liked this shot of the brakes and how you can see the wear and battle scars from abuse inside the wheel wells…
One more shot…Notice the front staggered set-up of the wheels…
M&M Honda Beat….
Sitting on Watanabe wheels… Notice the center exhaust even though it’s barely visible…
Drive in comfort with the fuel cell sitting next to you….haha…I like the over fender action too…
M&M FD2 Civic R…I think this one is their flagship vehicle now….Not a huge fan of the front bumper but it seems to flow pretty well with everything else…
One of my favorite parts on this FD2 is the front fenders….
The rear is pretty wild but it all comes together nicely. It’s good that they have these naked shots of it so you can see all the lines of the kit before all the graphics they put on it…
An overhead shot…
Here it is with the M&M graphical livery….
In the two shots above you can see the rear bumper and how the diffuser ties into it….Interesting that each end is vented….
Side profile shot in front of some Mayan temple, haha….
This is a pretty crazy shot…would have been perfect without the Toyota Corolla in the background….
A pair of M&M Honda S2000s…both wearing Spoon front bumpers….
Prodrive wheels…
You can get a sense of how small their shop is in this photo….
Pretty cool stuff right?… If you guys want to check out their official Facebook page for more photos, click on the link below. “Like” their page too….
The Official M&M Honda Facebook Page…
Oh before you go, they also have a collection of some really good videos of their cars in action. It’s mainly of the CL7 and the FD2 but it’s cool to see these things in action…
That’s a wrap…have a good one….
Exclusive Content…Phaze2 TSX…
Finally, an update…haha…I apologize in advance for my absence the last couple days. The Need For Speed Shift 2 event was this past weekend and I’ve been busy going through a couple hundred photos from that, as well as some personal photography work for a family member, and the update you’re about to see. The coverage of the NFS Shift 2 event is pretty good actually, even though it was a small event. I had to go snap some pics for Honda Tuning to cover that event for them so I was all about taking pictures that day.
Anyways, for today, we’re going to take a look at a car that you should all be familiar with by now. The owner is also a very close and dear friend of mine and that guy is known to many of you as Salem from Phaze2. His TSX graced the cover of Honda Tuning a couple years back and unlike many of the enthusiasts these days, he’s actually held onto his car and continued it’s evolution. I know the car well because Salem and I constantly talk about it and he brings the car out to almost every event. When it received it’s feature in Honda Tuning it was actually still in it’s beginning stages. Since then the car has taken on quite the transformation. It still carries the J’s Racing theme when it comes to engine modifications but now it also has the rare J’s Racing front fascia for the Accord Euro-R. It’s also seen a number of different sets of wheels because Salem has yet to find a wheel that he is truly satisfied with. The photos below show the TSX on polished BBS LM’s that were borrowed from our friend Sam from AS1, since Salem recently sold his white TE37s and was in need of a set of wheels to roll on for the Need For Speed Shift 2 event. Salem’s been looking for new wheels for a couple weeks now and we’ve been going through different sets and calling different places to see what is available. What’s made things increasingly difficult has been the tragic events that have happened in Japan. The earthquake and tsunami has really affected things coming in and out of Japan so we’re looking at much longer wait times if he decides to order something from overseas. When he finally decides on a new set of wheels we will go out and get some new photos for you guys but today, you guys will see the Phaze2 TSX on BBS LMs. It’s not a bad look, definitely different from what we’re used to seeing on his car but hey, it’s nice to switch things up every now and then to see what works and what doesn’t….
It was kind of an impromptu shoot since we didn’t really plan it out and shot it near an area by some random strip club by Salem’s place. It was also dark as shit too and basically pitch black when we shot so it was pretty sketchy. There aren’t too many shots because we didn’t spend too much time there being that it was an area we weren’t too familiar with…Enjoy. Same rules apply, click the links below for larger versions of the images…

A “behind-the-scenes” shot I guess you can say…

Mikeyyyy is holding his iPhone up because that was pretty much the only source of light that we had since we shot late at night in complete darkness…
214 so far…

Salem recently went to go test out his new aftermarket throttle body by Skunk2. This particular piece is significant because it’s the first aftermarket throttle body for the K motors that are drive-by-wire. This of course means, that the throttle is controlled electronically and not by cable like most older Honda engines. I talked to him a couple days before that and he was telling me how responsive it is and how smoothly it responds. I’ve never dealt with anything drive-by-wire before so I couldn’t really tell you the differences with a stock and aftermarket throttle body but so far, Salem is pretty impressed by the low and mid range response. He dyno’d the car once before with the J’s Racing header and exhaust and you can see the number represented in the first line of the graph. The line below it is what the car is making currently with the Skunk2 “Black Series” throttle body, composite fuel rail, and intake manifold. 214HP on those motors isn’t too bad, with everything stock internally. Once he gets into the guts of the motor is when the real fun begins.
I normally wouldn’t post stuff like this because it almost seems like it’s blatant advertising but I thought I would just because of the whole drive-by-wire issue with those cars and now guys actually have options. I’m sure the product still needs some seat time to see how it does long term but it looks promising so far. I also thought I’d post it because I’m always happy to see Salem continue to work on his car. His car hit the cover of Honda Tuning a couple years back and he still continues to improve on his build. He doesn’t just sit back and just let his car sit or attempt to sell it to build something else. He’s my boy and has had to deal with alot of crazy stuff in his life the last year or so and I’m personally amazed to see that he’s still motivated everyday to improve on his car. He absolutely loves his car and he’s great for the TSX community because he’s always testing out new parts and making sure that their market is expanding. Most others would have just given up on the project long ago omce they got their magazine cover, but he continues to move forward. I’ve included some pictures below that were shot by DJ Murdock. Thanks for looking…
214HP/166TQ….and more to come…

Wek’Fest 2010 Weekend…Part 1 – The Drive…
Finally, time to tell you guys about the trip up to Norcal for the 2010 Wek’Fest event. It was quite a weekend and I took a bunch of pictures of everything before and after the trip so be prepared to brick your phones. There are a bunch of sites out there that already have the pictures of the cars. As much as I would like to show you every single car that was at the show with detail shots and what not, I just can’t. I’ve always taken pride in being able to cover the lifestyle aspect of the shows more so than just the cars itself. This site is here to show you how we cars guys out west operate and how what we do, so if you’re here just for the cars, I’m gonna have to apologize to you beforehand because I honestly didn’t take that many pictures of the cars. I was busy running around like a fucking maniac the whole day of the show talking to people, looking for cars for work, and running into random people I haven’t had a chance to see in a long time. I did do coverage though so don’t worry about that. I was so busy I didn’t even get a chance to sell Chronicles merchandise. I was all over the place. I didn’t worry too much about covering all the cars at the show either because I just don’t have the equipment yet to do these cars justice inside this darker venue. If I was covering a Hot Import Nights or something, the pics would come out darker than 6 Wesley Snipes’…Anyways, on with the coverage…
So I was running around with my head cut off for most of the week. I was trying to get a bunch of stickers knocked out and to catch up on all the orders from the storefront. That and I had to cut stickers for Big Mike as well as picking up the new Chronicles shirts. I’m pretty happy with them and I hope you guys are too. Friday morning a bunch of us met up at the Denny’s off Magic Mountain Parkway at 10am. Of course, I never show up on time anywhere so I got there at around 10:30 or so…

They’re all smiles here but a couple of them were kinda pissed off that I was so late but oh well, what can you do haha…

Lost is Black Brandon, Big Mike, Jeremy scratching his nuts, and Teresa…

Jeremy’s Euro-R converted TSX wasn’t apart of the show but he decided to come up with us just to hang out in Norcal and to help out some of the guys with set-up…

Big Mike hadn’t really had enough seat-time in his Prelude yet and with the storm ready to come in, he didn’t really feel comfortable driving it so he had the car trailered as a precaution…

Salem and the Phaze2 TSX sitting on 24K Work VS-XX…

Everyone shot the shit for a little bit and then we headed out…

After a couple hours and probably 3 bottled waters and coffee later, May had to use the bathroom so I decided to take this one exit super late and somehow managed to lose Mikey in the process. Oh that and it was the sketchiest gas station EVER….

Jeremy wondering why there was a random lawnmower out front, along with an old oven with caution tape around it….yup, they all totally belong in front of a store…

Somewhere along the way, we randomly ran into the As1 Subaru Legacy on the road. As1 Bryan was riding along with him and they decided to caravan with us…

Bug massacre…

Jeremy and Salem aka Alternate Dimension Rodrez discussing TSXs…

Back on the road…

I’ve actually never seen this section of the 5 so green before. I guess the recent rain and what not helps. Sorry the pic is kinda blurry but I took this while I was driving and eating fried pork rinds and drinking an Amp energy drink. I multi-task…I was also driving both TSXs simultanesously too, wrap your brain around that one…
Somehow Salem got us lost and we missed the 152 exit so we had to turn around. We decided to stop for gas and more high volume peeing…

Salem was smart and decided to apply some Rain-X to his windows because the storm was definitely up ahead…

Hopefully the rain would help get rid of this mess…what’s blue tape?

Jeremy was heading a different direction because he had to head to Concord for some punk concert or something with Teresa so he stayed on the 5 while we turned around and went the other way…

…and we ran into this. The rain had come full force while we drove through garlic country. Shit got hairy for awhile and definitely made the drive interesting…

Here we are making our way through Gilroy and to the 101 freeway…

While Salem was leading the way and digging his car into the rain, I did what anyone would do in dangerous driving conditions…

…I ate a sandwich.

The rain began to calm down and we saw some blue in the sky as we neared our hotel. Chris from Chicago arrived in San Fran hours before and called me to tell me that the storm was so bad that our hotel actually had no power. Luckily everything was fine by the time we got there.
We checked in and took a break for a little bit until everyone else caught up and made it to the hotel. Once everyone arrived, it was already night time. We had such a bomb ass meal at Texas Roadhouse the last time we went to Norcal so we had to hit that spot up again. We met up with the Sean Bradford and Chi-town Chris and headed out once again…

Oh it was Big Mike’s birthday that day and he was all smiles about it…

Chris aka CRSFOTO aka The Blizzard Man aka My Ass is Haunted and The Sean Bradford breaking bread with us…
Of course the waitress forgot my order completely so I just sat there and watched everyone else eat. By the time my food came everyone was pretty much finished and I didn’t even feel like eating it. So I took most of it home and just ate it the next day…

Blurry onion contraption…

Tina with her steak…

Salmon seemed to be a popular item that night…

Yay. Birthday…
After that we all went home for such much needed sleep. I watched some TV and KO’d for the rest of the night. Tomorrow we were heading off to Wek’Sos to talk and chill with the guys that were running the event. And that’s where we’re gonna leave off for today….
Back tomorrow for more…
J’s Racing TSX front bumper released…

Well, after all the hoopla about whether or not the grille with the gigantic Acura/Honda logo was ugly, J’s Racing officially releases it’s new front aero bumper for the TSX/Accord Euro-R. Their solution to everyone’s bitching? It was simple. Release the grille as an option. Leave it to the Japanese to come up with such a brilliant idea….I mean, it’s not like people weren’t gonna buy it and just take the grille off anyway, but the guys over at J’s Racing came up with an idea to charge you for that extra piece….

I personally prefer it without the grille. After staring at it and pre-production pics of it for the last couple months, I must say that I’ve grown used to staring at the big ass emblem. I guess it doesn’t look that bad…

I must say though, the overall car is a bit of a letdown. With all the other J’s demo cars rocking all kinds of crazy graphics and vinyl art, I was a little disappointed to see that this TSX was so plain. I expected to see like a gigantic camel breathing fire into some metal knives with cherry blossom pedals sprinkled down from the top….oh well. Maybe they’re working on it… =P
“The Chronicles…” Exclusive! J’s Racing TSX Front…
So I was hanging out with the homie Salem, who has the A&J Racing-sponsored TSX, and the subject of the new J’s Racing bumper came up. I remember he said he changed his mind on getting it a couple months back because he was disappointed in the grille design. I guess they went kind of wild on the design and tried to implement the Acura logo in it and it came out kind of hideous. Well he happened to mention today that he had been communicating with Ben Leung about it and they finally decided to modify it and ditch the grille. This is the first picture of the updated front on the internet and it comes directly from A&J Racing…

…It looks ALOT better than the initial pics with the big ass Acura emblem. Guess they listened to all the TSX owners on the net that were bitching about the design. I don’t know what other planned changes they have for it but it looks good as is. I’ll give word on release details as soon as I find out… Remember you saw it here first!
…On a sidenote, what’s the deal with parking the cars so damn close…shit, those cars look like they’re rubbing up on eachother at club….
J’s Racing TSX (CL9) front part 2…

I accidently stumbled onto a thread over on Acurazine about the prototype J’s Racing CL9 front bumper and alot of the people (as expected) were complaining about the look of it and how the grille looks funny. People generally love to complain about stuff so I guess J’s caught wind of this thread and decided to make TSX fanboys happy by modifying the grille…..or maybe the Acura emblem just fell off…haha…
Previous pic…

I mean if it really bothers you that much, just have the bodyshop cut the grille off….Or don’t buy it? Possibly?
J’s Racing TSX (CL9) front….

I say “TSX” because J’s seems to be developing this new front end for the US-Spec Accord Euro R judging by the “A” emblem up front. Not a bad looking bumper at all but some will probably complain about the fact that it has a Pontiac-like front grille and the big “A” emblem…Looks good to me. The bottom section resembles the FD2 front bumper also. Oh looks like they incorporated the OE foglights too, a nice touch….

Looks like Heeltoe is the first place to be able to get these and even they are informing people to hold off until they can get some more info on it…..
Salem’s 2006 CL9 TSX…

This is my boy Salem’s 06 CL9. I first met Salem at J’s Gathering up in Norcal in January and he was a pretty quiet guy at first. Almost too quiet, like serial killer quiet…We ran into some Evo-owners that were trying to get crazy at the show and thats when I realized that this dood was pretty down. Turns out he’s a pretty nice guy, and he’s got a pretty nice ride too….

When I first saw this TSX, it wasn’t near what it is in these pics but I knew it was special. After a couple months, I was informed that Salem would be getting a feature in Honda Tuning magazine. I actually had the opportunity to go to the actual shoot for the mag over in downtown Los Angeles and even had the pleasure of writing the feature.

This is one of the most impressive TSX builds I have ever seen. I’m not just saying that cuz I’m friends with the guy either because I probably have never even told him. The pure subtlety of it and functionality of the parts equipped make it a timeless build. Many years from now we are all gonna look back at this CL9 and it’ll still make sense, you know what I mean? If you get the chance, please pick up a copy of the mag as it’s currently out in circulation right now. Just look for the white TSX on the cover….
