SEMA 2010 Coverage…Part 4…

Today, we’re gonna be looking at the wheel/tire hall of the 2010 SEMA show. This section is usually the furthest one to get to but it always has some really nice cars…There should only be a couple more parts of the SEMA stuff before I go back to posting other stuff like the NSXPO and other random things that have been going on the last couple of weeks…

Nice R35 GTR that was right up front when we walked into the wheel/tire section. This place actually took us quite a bit of time to find because the show was so huge. I don’t remember it being in this building last year but it could be that we just went in from a different side so things looked different…

Falken came out with a similar display as the year before but the cars were obviously different….

Falken’s Mustang drift car that’s piloted by Vaughn Gitten Jr….

Always enjoy seeing the Falken livery on this Porsche…

Ford Focus RS on Volk TEG2 wheels…

The wheel/tire hall was filled with these Ferrari 458 Italias. It almost seemed as if every booth had one done up on some wheels…

HRE booth…

Mercedes S-Class with Carlsson Noble RS aero in the Vredestein booth…If I was a drug dealer and/or pornstar, this would probably be my car of choice with this exact Carlsson kit…The dude in the background of the second picture is probably thinking the same thing…

Kumho and their 15 series tire…yes…FIFTEEN SERIES. Nothing says let’s drive behind this guy than his like, 355/15-26 tire….Probably have to fill the tire up to like 5 psi to inflate the rubberband inside…

Just to show you how narrow the tire is, Big Mike stuck his head inside the wheel. I know, it’s a poor example…

It was cool to finally see a street-trim Lexus LF-A. I was wondering when one of these would pop up and I gotta say, it’s a beautiful car. In terms of style, it probably has the R35 beat…

Mercedes AMG SLS Gullwing…so sick. I know I said if I were a pornstar that sells drugs I’d drive that Carlsson Benz a couple pictures back but I’m sure that if I were into that Columbian powder and started doing some really sketchy porn, then I would probably drive this car…with the 15-series Kuhmo tire…just because….

Oh this is that one chick from that one Ray J reality TV show…For the Love of Ray J? I believe her name is Elle Navarro…and I also believe that she was the one that was on his show that “smashed the homie” or something. I don’t know, I usually watch that show on mute or with the least amount of attention…

ABT Audi R8 GTR…

Oh this was cool…So we were walking around after we saw Elle Navarro and I saw this LS tucked away on the other side of the huge Giovanni wheels area. It’s not that common to see Japanese VIP builds inside the halls at SEMA so I went over to check it out. It’s a pretty wild car and I could tell from the styling of it that it wasn’t just Japanese VIP-inspired, it was indeed a Toyota Celsior from Japan. The booth that it was in, Boom Craft X Team Crazy Boze, had a name that was also clear indication that it was not from the states. I talked to one of the guys in the booth and he confirmed that they shipped the car over from Japan. You can tell that it was built in Japan because of stuff like the floormats with the roll call, the crazy dash set-up, and the whole sound system business in the rear of the car. Also note that even with the custom dash and all the crazy shit going on inside the interior of the Celsior, including the plastic front seats, they still manage to retain the OEM climate control. You can see it built into the center console. It’s probably not the best looking VIP build there but it’s probably the craziest…

After that we walked up to the section where Jenny Chu was at. If you guys are familiar with The Chronicles, then you know that DPK David is a pretty big fan of her’s. He couldn’t make it out to Vegas with the rest of us because he was stuck at work so Big Mike decided to get a poster signed by her for David. He had talked to her a couple times before and I guess she showed him her secret handshake or something during the Spocom show…

The two expressions in this pic are priceless, haha. Right here is when Big Mike was like, “Do you remember when you were faded at the Spocom show in Long Beach?” and she’s all “teehee, when am I not faded at a car show…” It was a meaningful conversation, believe me…

The two of them exchanging their super secret Jenny Chu handshake…After that we had to explain to her what DPK meant and who DPK David was and she stopped smiling and told us to leave…

…then we ran into 7-foot 14 Donovan from Vibrant Performance. Big Mike and him have a good repoire and Big Mike’s Prelude is even in the Vibrant catalog. Donovan is a good dude and is always down to help us out with anything we need from Vibrant…

Big ass truck. I mean, this thing was fucking huge. Again, yes “that’s what she said” and yes, this truck probably belongs to Donovan because this is the only thing he would fit in…

A lot of people often ask me what kind of car this is. When I say “often”, I mean, only one person and that was Big Mike. For those of you who are also not inclined to use Google, this is a Gumpert Apollo from German supercar manufacturer, Gumper Sportwagenmanufaktur GMBH. Longest fucking name ever, butthatskoolwithme…

Across from the Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GMBH Apollo Orange German Super Car was this Porsche…

Porsche Panemera on Forgiato Superleggera Dito wheels. They’re aren’t the most attractive wheels I’ve seen ever but I actually went on their site to see what model wheels these were and came across a couple of other Superleggera wheels that aren’t too bad…

It’s funny because on their site, they had this huge flashing notice telling people to beware of fake Forgiato wheels, which leads us to….

…the ROTA booth, which is a company that has made it’s name and fortune off of manufacturing fake ass wheels. Their booth never changes because they’re too busy saving up money to buy wheels to copy but it’s always cool to check out the Rota section because they always give away….

…FREE HATS. This year, they came out with some new colors and they had this brown Rota hat that matched Big Mike’s one-off  brown Honda Tuning shirt…

They already have the latest Advan “D’ series wheels copied. These guys are really on it this year…

..they even have the new Volk TE G2 wheels copied. Sucks that they even knocked-off the classic Advan RG with the blue stripe and everything…

After seeing the Rota section, we headed out to go pick up the girls, who were having their day out on their own. Rodrez complained about how cold the A/C in the car was and then we dropped him off back at his hotel. We went back to our rooms after that and ate some dinner before heading out to our next industry party, which was at LAX inside Luxor…

It was actually quite an adventure because we tried to get into some other parties but by the time we got there, the parties were over. It’s not like we went out late or anything either. We stopped by LAX to get our hands stamped for re-entry, then we went to the Hardrock to check out the 0-60 party, which ended at like 11:30. Security looked at our I.D.s and then someone came out and said that there was no one left inside the club. Sounds like quite a party. Then we ran into some random people we knew along the way, had shots, and then eventually ended up at LAX again…

May with Tony and his crazy drunk face, Ejay, and Rywire inside LAX…

This was a cool group shot of the homies right before Danny almost got us into a altercation with some dude over some females…It made for an interesting night to say the least…

We laughed it off and then Ryan showed us his dance moves…

Gonna cut it off here for now. Back tomorrow with more pics from SEMA 2010…
