Flagship Society Grand Opening…

Damn, it’s been fucking crazy lately with all this rain. I’m starting to forget what it feels like to have sunlight. If I had planned an event and taken time/money out of my life to throw something together, I would be fucking pissed if the weather was like this. It seriously was pouring down like non-stop. Louie had wanted to do a grand opening for his new shop location for awhile now but with so much going on, December looked like the only good time to do it. I’m pretty sure he didn’t anticipate the weather being like this and was probably pretty bummed that morning when he woke up and saw that nothing had changed. With so much time and effort put into getting the shop ready though, he decided that it was best to do it anyway and it worked out great. There were definitely a bunch of cars that showed up, mainly S2000s but being that the weather was the way it was, people hung out inside mostly and the whole event turned into a big party. There was alcohol on hand, food, music,…everything just came together and it turned into a great event. I had a blast and it was probably one of the best gatherings of the year in terms of just being able to be around good people and enjoy good company…I have to give it up to Louie for being able to put something like this together and then follow through on it and not let the weather ruin it. The coverage today is mostly just people and the shop. Cars were everywhere but it was hard enough to walk around in the rain let alone walk up and down the street with a camera. I just got what I could. Many of the cars were S2000s and mostly the same ones from the Norm Reeves event so you get the idea….

A shot at part of the shop from the bar…Normally this area is filled with cars but they were all moved to accomodate the crowd…

The outside had a couple of tents for people to stand under and to get out of the rain…it was pouring so hard to the point that some of the water was getting through the tents but people didn’t care…

I’m sure you guys are all familiar with this N/A 2JZ-GE Supra. It’s been all over the internet this year…

Spoon Fit that they recently picked-up from Norcal…Not sure what the plans are for this thing but the guys from Ballade Sports, who work out of the L*Con facility, are probably gonna put it back together and get it up and running again…

It says: “A winner is someone who recognizes their god give talents, works their ass off to develop into skills and uses these skills to accomplish their goals.”

2nd Gen. Scion xB on some concave ARK wheels…

K3ychain from ItsJDMYo!!!’s Accord…

My Q45 sitting out front with all kinds of leaves and shit stuck to it…

Here you can’t get an idea of how many cars were there. This is the main street to leads to the shop and it was filled with cars all the way down the block. The lot across the street eventually filled up too…

The front of Flagship Society. If you guys look at my older posts you can see the evolution of this shop. When I first visited Louie, he had just moved in not too long ago and the front was pretty bare…

…now it’s a full on DTA clothing store, and probably the only DTA-exclusive store around…

The walls are even filled with various art pieces now…

…some of which are probably NWS for you guys at work, but I’ve done the JDM porn mosaic so your co-workers can ask what you’re looking at and then figure it out for themselves…

Another section of the shop is for “Suicide Machine” where they build custom bikes…The DJ booth is not always there of course and was only set-up there for DJ A1 to entertain the crowd with music…

Ryan and Tony talking NSXs or whatever…

Ketel One vodka to help people forget about the rain…

Big Mike talking to our old buddy Adam, whose doing big things now outside of the car world…

Alex Doan’s Spoon S2000…

A client’s acid-dipped S2000 that Louise’s been stitch-welding. The owner has huge plans for this thing so I’ll try to keep you guys update on it whenever I get a chance to cruise down there…

Louie’s personal tube-chassis Honda CVCC with S2000 motor that he’s never going to finish. As long as I’ve known Louie he’s had this car and it has never changed, haha. He’s just got too much other shit going on and this car just isn’t a priority to him. It would be awesome if he finished it but I’m not gonna hold my breath…

I wanted to get away for a little bit and clear my head of all the loud music that was going on so we headed over to Ryan’s shop to chill for a little bit. Most of the homies hadn’t had a chance to check it out yet so it was also their first time seeing Rywire’s new home…

May saw this old armoire that Ryan had and apparently it leads to Narnia…if Narnia was old and dusty and dark…

On the way back over to the party, I spotted this Nissan Cefiro. Definitely not something you see everyday and the first time I have ever seen one in person. If you’re not aware of this car, don’t be surprised, it was never available in America and is originally meant only for the Japanese domestic market…

It’s in pretty decent shape considering the age and after importing it over to the states and what not. The Sparco wheels are absolutely horrendous though… I forgot who mentioned it but someone told me that this Cefiro actually belongs to Ross Petty from Garage Boso. I looked around on the net and it is indeed from there…

A closer look at the N/A Supra on ITBs…Pretty cool looking car and of course it’s unique. Doesn’t make much power compared to a turbo Supra but I doubt the owner cares…

Sheepy and Big Mike sharing a moment…

Another area of the shop, inbetween the DTA store and the bay, is a room where Spidersilk Tattoo operates out of…You can see the cool, prison-like door that Louie had put in…

This was my attempt to start taking pictures of the cars down the street and then it started pouring so I said “fuck it” and ran back inside, haha…

Cool Flagship Society stickers that were printed on USPS shipping labels…

Big Mike and Ryan talking…you can see Bisi Ezerioha and Hedi in the background…

They had bacon-wrapped hot dogs and tacos on hand for everybody. It smelled delicious but the line was too long and I didn’t want to wait. Luckily Jared did stand in line and he gave up his tacos…

Sheepey also waited in line…

…and he decided to share some of his food with Big Mike’s sleeve…

Tony and K3ychain eating…

Jared can’t stand the rain in his Missy Elliot jacket…

Black Pie playing with a dog…

One more shot of the Supra…

The guys getting their drink on…

DJ A1…

That’s about it. The rain really put a damper on things as far as photos went but everything else was crackin’. I had a good time just hanging out with everyone and sitting back and watching Louie’s grand opening turn into a huge celebration. I had to bring my Q45 home and it was starting to get kinda late so I took off. When I was leaving the party was still going strong though so I have no idea when it ended. Congrats once again to Louie and Flagship Society…I’m excited for what the new year will bring and wish for continued success for Louie…
