Most interesting, as judged by you…

Well it’s nearing the end of 2010 and like last year, I will be going over the most clicked on images, individual posts, and top referrers of the year. This is all based on stats provided by WordPress, who has been keeping track of everything that you guys click on when you come on The Chronicles. This is usually a bit skewed because most of the stuff you see on this page doesn’t usually require you clicking on anything of any sort except for images that I may have provided individual links to. This usually leads to stats regarding an image that is really interesting, or an image that has nothing to do with this site or with Hondas that I’ve provided merely for shits and giggles.

For the clicked on individual posts, this usually only represents pages that have been linked from an outside source in combination with pages that have been clicked on when someone logs onto The Chronicles. Top referrers are outside sites that have lead people over here to the site from another source.

This year was interesting because the image has nothing to do with Hondas and the referrers and clicked posts are vary different from one another, which is a good indication that there’s a pretty broad audience that reads this site. It’s cool but after reviewing the annual stats, it was a bit unexpected. The most talked about topics aren’t even anywhere near the top of the list, probably just because of what I said earlier where the stats are skewed because many posts did not require a click. Anyways, this stuff isn’t too exciting but it’s kinda cool to look back on the year and go over some of the stuff that was covered in 2010…

Most Clicked on Image of 2010 (because you’re all perverted)

This of course, was taken during the RPM event in Irvine, California during the summer. There weren’t many cars that day so we just ran around and took pictures of girls all day so I guess it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise that this image was popular. Running a close second was this image which is also from the same event. Last year’s most clicked on image was HBK Jon’s old purple EG hatchback that I took pictures of hours before his Import Tuner shoot, which strangely enough, barely ran this year. It’s actually still very popular and is still very high on the list of clicked on images. Funny thing about that image is that it’s linked 90% outside of the U.S. Most of the incoming links that direct to those images are from Europe and other parts of the world. I guess they haven’t caught wind that the car was sold ages ago and we really have no association with the car or the owner anymore…

This image (NWS) is also still extremely popular. If you don’t remember this it’s from one of the posts in early 2009 or something when I posted up these images of this old asian cougar laying all naked on top of some random dude’s Benz. Shit was weird and extremely perverted…which I guess makes it popular on the internet…

Most Clicked-on/Viewed Post of 2010

I kinda had a feeling it would be this post. The S2K community is very close so when something happened to an S2000 owner, the shit spread like wildfire. The most clicked-on/viewed post of 2010 is about Art Moridian’s yellow S2000, which was vandalized in front of his parents house one night. I think the thread about this car on S2Ki is still going on actually. I don’t keep track of it because it doesn’t really relate to me nor do I really care what random people say about Art’s S2000 and what happened to him. I am happy to see and hear that his car is now back to normal and damage free.

Coming a really close second is the post regarding the debut of Bisimoto’s CR-Z. It was quite an honor to be the first one to release official pictures of the Bisimoto CR-Z and the popularity of that car was undeniable. It may have started here but it was all over the web, even on sites and online publications that do not have Bisimoto or Honda as a part of their regular demographic. I have to thank Bisi for giving me the opportunity because it helped bring many, many new viewers to The Chronicles and hopefully many of them stuck around after seeing it…

Third and fourth were also very close and they were not related at all. One was about the whole debauchery regarding the fake ASR subframe braces being sold in shops and online, and the other post was about Sam’s 4-door Civic when a Jeep randomly hit it and then decided to roll over on it’s side. The ASR post was good because it helped spread the word all over the world and the accident with Sam’s Civic was pretty wild and unbelievable. People couldn’t help but talk about it…

I had really high hopes for the Civic but Sam just kept on running into bad luck with the car and he even totalled the car later this year. I was looking forward to doing a story on it too for a future magazine feature and now it’s gone…oh how quickly things change…

Top Referrer of 2010…

This wasn’t too much of a surprise. NWP4LIFE.com is one of the biggest Honda forums on the interwebz today and they are the top referrer to The Chronicles of 2010. Other sites that came close were Preludepower and Preludezone, thanks to Big Mike, who has been pushing the site since I covered his build on here and S2Ki and Facebook are right up there with those sites. I fully expect Facebook to be at the top of this list in 2011 because of the boom in Facebook users and I also tend to link any new post I do to the Chronicles’ Facebook page, so clicks automatically come from there. It’s great to have a social networking site at my disposal because there’s no better source of promotion than word of mouth…

Well that’s all for today, it’s getting a little word-heavy and I’m probably losing your attention. Stay tuned for more updates as the days follow. Top Ten Hondas of 2010 coming up this week as well…

  1. Art’s S2000 was an insurance job. Every panel that was hit was upgraded (fenders, doors, hardtop, etc…); all the panels that weren’t hit couldn’t have been upgraded (windows, quarter panel, etc…). The wing was replaced by Voltex Japan because it “broke on the track”. Go figure.

  2. Hey buddy, I was just wondering if you could do like a “top 10 car models of 2010”? ahha might be a bit of fun! PS keep up the great content!
