Wekfest Los Angeles 2011 Coverage…Part 4…

Back now with Part 4 of the Wekfest Los Angeles 2011 coverage. Today we’re going to continue looking at random ass pictures that I took throughout the day…Enjoy and have a great weekend…

A shot of the historical Queen Mary in the distance…

First gen. Toyota Celica with a Honda S2000 F20C swap…

ATS Anh helped provide a bit of shade for me throughout the day, which was very much appreciated…

DPK Slappy came all the way out from Texas to visit us and to chill at Wekfest. Here he is talking to Jimmy from San Diego and some major creepo guy behind them. Either that guy doesn’t like Slappy or he’s not a very big fan of Mayday Garage, who Slappy shoots for…

ATS Anh-gine bay…

Chivas’ Sprint Hart CP-Rs…

A couple more detail shots of Sheepey’s turbo S2K bay…

Custom fab’d catch can and engine breather set-up…

HeyMikeyyyy’s Sunkist Orange CCWs…

Really wanted to get a shot of the new vinyl stickers that I did for DPK David but the glitter effect on the vinyl was so crazy in the sunlight that I couldn’t get a solid pic of it…

Slap doing work…

Anh and Norman from As1 discussing child-rearing and fatherhood…

Adam from Weksos was working so hard that day that he somehow managed to lose his shirt…

Tina and Mikeyyyy…

Ryan Der’s engine bay was so nice that butterflys were landing on it…

ATS Angel…

…and another one…

Junction Produce big brakes….

Mastermind’s Spirit Rei Odyvia…

At this point the girls were pretty hungry so we took off on a free bus ride to Famous Dave’s BBQ…

It’s a pretty good spot, we usually eat there every time we’re out in Long Beach…

After lunch it was time to head back to the show to get more coverage. There were others that went with us but Mikeyyyy, Tina, May, and I grabbed a separate table so that we could leave at our own time and not have to wait for everyone. The thing with these free bus rides is that it takes us from the Queen Mary to all over Long Beach. We had no idea exactly what route the bus was on but we ended up stuck on this bus, seriously, for like almost an hour. Shit was fucking ridiculous…

Just when we thought we were going in the right direction back to the Queen Mary, it turns and starts like another whole new long ass route along downtown Long Beach. Shit was awful. It took such a long time to get back that Mikeyyyy even fell asleep. I honestly was a little irritated because I didn’t want to miss out on good photography time and being on that bus felt like we were fucking frozen in time or some shit. Longest bus ride, EVER. When we finally got back to the Queen Mary, I quickly hopped off to go switch lenses so that I could get more coverage for you guys….it was almost award-announcement time as well so I wanted to knock out all the car shots before moving onto the awards…

Meanwhile, in Anh’s Integra….I spotted Antonio from Motormavens getting shots of this model from Wheelflip so I jumped in and took some of my own…

I thought these pics came out pretty good so I’ve attached a Larger Version (1200×800) …….

Larger Desktop Version (1920×1080)

I liked these shots so much that I’ve even taken the liberty of turning the one above into a full 1080P desktop image for you guys…link above this sentence….

A couple of S2000s…

…including Nitty Beat’s purple S2000…

Track-prepped, K-swapped 4-door Civic…

EM2 on CCWs…

Really liked this G35…

Wild TSX…

This yellow FD3S immediately caught my eye and is one of my favorites of the day…

Next to the RX-7 was Ka Wong’s F20C-swapped AE86 Corolla…

A couple more S2000s…

Alexisthemovie’s homie’s Lexus LS…

Love the combination of the Weds Kranze Bazreia wheels and Project Mu big brake kit…

Tony and Keith from ItsJDMYo!!! made an appearance…

300C on VIP Modular wheels…

Jeremy Duarte’s DB8 engine bay…

…and the bay of his homie’s K-swapped EG…

Another shot of the 1st gen. Toyota Celica…

…and the F20C S2000 swap under the hood of the Celica…

Larger Version (1400×933)

Gonna close it out today with this sick ass Mazda RX-4….It ended up winning Best of Show I believe and is very much deserving of the honor…I’ve also included a larger version of the above pic and the link to it is beneath the image…

The bay of the RX-4 with the Toyota 2JZ-GE swap…It even has a complete Toyota Altezza dash in it as well…

Rear shot…

That’s all for today…thanks for looking guys. If some of the comments don’t make any fucking sense to you, it’s because I am literally falling asleep as I am typing this, haha. I wanted to get an update up for you guys before I take off for the weekend. My apologies if some of it doesn’t make sense….

  1. does sheepy have any numbers for this setup yet?

  2. What’s up with the logo on the hood of Celica on the first pic? Is that a car club or something? Completely ruins the car IMHO.

    • That’s the Heavy Hitters logo. It’s a magazine that feature rich people with more money than taste who modify cars because they need a ego trip.

BTW what’s up with those knockoff Rays umbrellas?

  3. Thanks again for The Awesome coverage!
It’s nice to see some oversea-stuff, especially when it’s as nicely done as this and with all those close-up shots and funny+informative comments attached.

  4. Great stuff Joey, always good commentary and keeps it entertaining.

  5. The umbrellas were sold at Mackin, so you might want to talk to them why they were selling knock offs….
