Air Runner Open House 2011 Coverage…

Spent the early Saturday afternoon at the Air Runner facility for their open house event this past weekend… The turn-out was probably less than stellar since it was planned and advertised everywhere but it was a good time for me because it gave me the opportunity to talk to some of the homies that I usually don’t get to see often. I think this event wasn’t as successful as it could have been because I feel that the general consensus from enthusiasts is that you have to have like a super VIP’d out ride on Air Runner suspension to attend this event…and that certainly wasn’t the case. I mean, they threw this event in the hopes that all kinds of enthusiasts would show up, not just luxury VIP guys. I guess maybe it should have been stated when the event was advertised but I think that the Air Runner guys just automatically assumed that that was the case. I didn’t arrived until a couple hours into the event and I was told there were more people and cars in attendance earlier but it didn’t matter, I stuck around, did coverage and hung out. My main reason for going and supporting Air Runner is because I’ve worked personally with Shin Okamoto before. I shot the 5Axis GS460 on Air Runner suspension a year ago and Shin was kind enough to pay me with some Air Runner gauges and switches for my Infiniti Q45. I have them on my Q now and I couldn’t be happier with them. Since that time I shot the car, I’ve run into Shin at a number of events and we’ve always taken the time to chat so I felt that it was the right thing to do to go and support his event, regardless of how the turnout was. At the open house, I asked him how he felt about the turnout and he seemed a little down about it, but I explained to him that the main reason was enthusiasts’ mindset that it was probably only tailored to VIP luxury car owners. I told him that once people see the event coverage online, maybe they will understand that it’s an event for everyone and next year’s will be much bigger and better…

Below are a couple shots from the open house. I captured basically whatever was there that caught my eye and then hung out for a couple hours before taking off to go eat lunch and spend the rest of the evening with May and friends… Thanks for looking and if you guys want high quality air suspension components, please make sure to consider Air Runner…

Big Steve decided to stumble out of bed and bring his LS out for the event…

White-on-white S2000 on BBS LMs….definitely not a VIP platform but it was on hand for the event…

It’s JDM Yo!!! model Holly Lee was there to show her support, posing in front of Big Steve’s LS…

A couple more shots of Holly…

Pancakes aka Oscar’s Q45 posted up next to a Junction Produce GS…

GS with a Job Design kit…

VIP Modular had a booth set-up…

F50 Q45 on VIP Modular wheels…

2nd gen. Lexus IS on Junction Produce Scara wheels…

Saw this GS with really extreme, ridiculous camber pull up to the meet…

Lexus IS on 5Axis wheels…

5Axis GS460 on Air Runner suspension…

Really liked this IS on SSR Professors… just a simple lip kit and great wheel fitment…

The overall stance on this GS was a bit overwhelming for me…I mean, I’m more into the traditional VIP look and it seems guys are more willing to make sacrifices like having haggared-up fenders to achieve a certain look…It is definitely an extreme look, especially since he drove with half the tires not even making contact with the pavement…

Infiniti M on some Work Varianzas…

Really liked this Lexus RX..this cars look so awkward in stock form but when you take the time to do some proper modifications to them, they look great…

Scion xB with a Gulf livery that belongs to Mike Ma and M2 Motoring…

Another shot of JonJon’s IS350…

Lexus LS430 rolling up to the meet…

Make sure to visit the official Air Runner site for all your air suspension goods…

One more shot of Holly Lee holding up a limited edition “It’s VIP Yo!!!” decal…

That’s all folks, thanks for looking…

  1. Du Ma, It’s JDM Yo! – fob accent

  2. What a hack job on that GS. Ive seen plenty of VIP cars with that much camber or more without having the fenders that f’d up. That guy lost. Anyway, i’m adding this site to my blog.

  3. Pictures are amazing what camera and lens do you use?
