What’s up all. As you’re reading this, I’m probably on a flight to Tokyo so as you can see, I don’t have a whole lot of time to chat. While I’m gone, here is the second half of the “Track and Show” event that recently took place at the famed Fuji Speedway. In Part 1, Shota Mori and I gave you a glimpse of the event from the “track” side of the event, and today, we’re going to look at the cars from the “show” section. Some of the cars from the track did migrate over to the show side eventually but for the most part, you’ll see a completely different set of vehicles from the latter. There’s a good variety of styles and builds in this post, so enjoy!…
Oh, as always, thanks to the mighty Shota Mori for coming through with the great photos once again! Love his work and as always, he is one of the few, if not THE ONLY other photographer whose work you’ll see spotlighted here on The Chronicles…
Beautiful black Lexus LS with very well-executed, streamlined fender flares that house a set of Work Gnosis wheels…
Oka’s FC3S Savanna RX07 on Rotiform wheels…
Mori and friends parked under the gloomy sky at Fuji Speedway…
Shota Mori’s CA Accord on Schmidt TH Line wheels…
Widened 180SX on American Rotiform wheels…
Arizona Ice Tea-inspired Mitsubishi Evolution. Even has the signature Arizona Green Tea flavor logo emblazoned on the rear trunk…
Work Meister M1
Some more of the Savanna FC…
Next to Mori’s Accord was the custom Honda CR-X that participated in the track portion of the event…
Quite a bit of extensive bodywork on this CR-X. Under the widened fenders and quarters are Japanese I.Force wheels. Note the center-exit exhaust coming out of the custom rear bumper…
Mori mentions that it was always one of his dreams to own a set of European Schmidt wheels…
Happy to be represented on the back window of his Accord with good company…
On the other side of Mori’s CA were a pair of wheels which name currently eludes me…
Another angle of the widebody CR-X…
Honda Shuttle on aggressive I.Force 11-SM 3-piece forged wheels…
A pair of the MX-5 Eunos Roadsters…
Arizona Green Tea Evolution VIII…
Craft-A EJ coupe and the yellow EG6 Civic also representing the tuning shop…
Really liked this red EK with TE37 wheels up front and Spoon SW388s in the rear. The thing with mismatched set-ups like this is that there is always a bit of symmetry to them. TEs up front are six spokes and the SWs are 5. Many of the cars that you see running mismatched wheels like this in Japan also follow a similar format…
Bronze Volk CE28 wheels in their 4-lug, 8-spoke configuration…
A trio of track-bred Civics from three different generations…
Side-profile view of the red EK. Love the rear bumper cut-outs…
Meaty Yokohama Advan A050s on the EK…
This yellow EG6 has definitely seen some wear and tear from circuit…
AutoStyle Custom EF9…
The DTM touring style spoiler has always been an interesting choice for the Craft-A coupe…
Huge rear wing on this AP1 S2000 on Advan RS…
Always really wanted to build a Toyota Crown Athlete…
Lexus IS-F featuring a Lexon Exclusive/Rocket Bunny collaborative aero kit. Also note the SARD rear spoiler…
Apparently there was more than just cars racing at the Track And Show event…
One of the best-looking Volkswagen Eos builds I’ve ever seen on COR Forged wheels…
Bagged and boosted widebody Volkswagen GTI seated on Airlift suspension….
The trio from LEVEL ONE Japan…
Shigeaki Hosoguchi’s Lexus IS on MAE Crown Jewels. He recently had an accidental blow-out on the front driver’s side tire and destroyed his front fender. He’s expected to be at Wekfest Japan this week so I wonder if it’ll be fixed by then…
Miyata’s S2000 and Kobayashi’s Accord Wagon…
Hosoguchi’s IS next to an old VW Beetle…
I know a lot of people may be getting a bit tired of all the Rocket Bunny craziness that has consumed us within the last two years but I have to say, the Rocket Bunny FD kit has to be the best-looking kit of them all. I love that the lines of the kit actually flow with the stock body-lines unlike some of the other kits that Miura produces. This gray Rocket Bunny FD on deep, DEEP, Work Meister S1 wheels just looks insane…
On that note, this wraps Part 2 of 3 of the Track And Show 2015 coverage. Make sure to head back over here for the third and concluding portion of our coverage. Thanks for looking!!…
Thank you
The RX7 with RB kit and those wheels. So damn impressive. Nice coverage.
