Exclusive Content…Henry from DPK’s Real Deal EG6 Civic…

You guys all saw Jared’s S2000 a couple days back and all the comments have been overwhelmingly positive, and now here is the other Honda that I shot two weekends ago. I really wanted to get some shots of a car that generally hasn’t been heard of yet or “whored out” so to speak, and Henry’s EG6 was perfect. It’s still a work in progress but aesthetically, it’s complete. Ryan and Rywire did the work on the bay and David and the DPK guys lended a helping hand in putting the car back together. It’s a legit Japanese Domestic Market  Civic EG6 and one of the rare, true authentic RHD Civics that are registered and road legal out here in California. It still retains a B-series and also the complete OEM JDM interior, which was really cool to see. I hadn’t really been exposed to one up close in a long time and definitely not one complete as this one. The exterior is very simple and straight to the point with the only add-on being the J’s Racing front lip. One of the cool things about the Japanese market Civics was that they all came in varying trim levels where the moldings outside would be different colors, unlike the ones in the U.S. where it was either black or painted to match the body. This particular one had a silver body molding and when Henry had the car resprayed the original color, he made sure to do the proper research and get the correct paint code to repaint the molding it’s original silver hue as well. It also has a original bronze glass which I didn’t even notice until the sun hit it. It’s just cool to see something from overseas still be completely intact after years in the states. I’ve always been a fan of Sprint Hart CP-Rs and it was even the first set of wheels I ever owned for my own Honda when I had it so I can always appreciate a set everytime I see one. It flows well with the rest of the car and it helps the car retain it’s timeless feel. Being that it’s already 2011, you would expect to see a K-swap under the hood and who knows, maybe that’s in the future eventually but for now, it’s still has the motor that we’ve been acustomed to seeing after all these years. The whole car just has a cool, almost nostalgic feel to it, even though it’s a bit weird to call an EG6 “nostalgic” by any means. The bay still needs some work here and there but overall, it’s a cool build. I can dig it…and I hope you guys enjoy seeing it as much as I do. It’s totally different from Jared’s S2000 shoot on very differing levels but both were shot on the same day. Same deal applies, I really shouldn’t have to explain it to you guys. Links to larger pics are provided below each picture and I’ve even gone and attached a 1920×1080 sized desktop image for you guys that like to always swap different backgrounds. Have a good one, and thanks for looking…
