Life As Seen Through A Manual NYC 35mm Reusable Film Camera…

A while back, I acquired this 35mm reusable film camera from @manual_nyc which I stumbled upon one random night. It’s like this ‘sustainable replacement’ for disposable cameras just made out of plastic with a built-in flash and manual wind. I don’t know why it seemed so interesting to me but I ordered it not realizing it was back ordered for months! It showed up at my office one day some time later and I only had one roll of film on my desk that hadn’t been used. It was totally the wrong type of film to throw into the camera but I figured I’d just shoot with it to get an idea of how the camera worked…

At one point early on, I think there was something wrong with the film-counter as it didn’t appear to be showing me how many shots I had left so I wasn’t sure if I should stop shooting with it even though the film was advancing normally. I didn’t want to ruin the roll and waste it so I just shot with it whenever I could, not trying to capture anything spectacular but just whatever was in front of me with the understanding that the camera might not be working as it should…

I finally finished the roll after like five months of randomly shooting with it and to my surprise, I was able to complete the roll and have it developed. These are all in random order, completely untouched and straight from the @manual_nyc camera with a roll of 50 ISO Fuji Velvia film…

This isn’t content you’d typically see on here, especially since I haven’t shot much film over the years but I thought I’d start populating the site again with content of all types since I do actually do a lot more than just event coverage. So, here we go…

Thanks for looking!!…
