Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 Coverage…Part 2…

I’m literally typing this up while sitting at a kitchen counter in our AirBnB house in Hawaii while I’m here for the 2017 Wekfest Hawaii event. I wish I would have had the time to get this posted up earlier last week but I’ve just been super busy running around. Crazy because I have to fly out to Osaka right after my stay in Hawaii is over on Tuesday. There isn’t a whole lot of time for me to chat so let’s just jump right back into the 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon coverage. Enjoy!…

Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 Coverage…Part 1…

No matter how many years I go, I never get tired of going to Tokyo Auto Salon. I’ve had friends go with me for multiple years and they just get over the whole idea of attending. Maybe it is just too much for them to deal with the crazy crowd and hoards of old perverts running back and forth. I don’t know. The thing I often hear the most is that it is “always the same shit every year” but that’s honestly more SEMA than it is Tokyo Auto Salon. I like TAS because it gives the world a good glimpse of what is to come in Japan. So many new builds debut at Tokyo Auto Salon and you really get to see some amazingly well-done builds by tuning shops throughout Japan. It is everything I could ask for. I mean, these are cars that I would normally only see in magazines and Japanese bookstores are starting to get more and more rare out here in California. Now with the Japanese getting more involved with social media, you really have a good idea what cars are going to debut and as such, you don’t have to waste so much time looking hoping that there will be new stuff at the show. These companies know how to use social media and they literally tell you what is coming and where to look for them at the show. It’s great…

The Chronicles Vlog 2017 #1 (Part 3): Tokyo Auto Salon Day 1….

After driving around Japan to visit various shops and eat a shit-ton of food, it was finally time to get down to the reason why we were in Tokyo; the annual Tokyo Auto Salon event. I always compare this show to SEMA just based on terms of sheer size, but it is completely different in a way where it caters to basically everything I care about. You go to SEMA and you see like about maybe 20% of cars that interest you as an import automotive enthusiast. TAS, however, is more on the opposite end of the spectrum where 80-90% of it are cars that you would actually physically look at and enjoy because, well, it’s fucking Japan. And Japan, after all, is where this whole entire import community was developed and based off of worldwide. Tokyo Auto Salon is a fantastic show filled with a lot of history and a look at the shape of things to come in the future. Sit back and take in some of the fine vehicles with us as we walk through the show on Day 1…
