Goodbye Midnight Garage…

Ahhh it seems like only yesterday that we were all at the Midnight Garage grand opening having a blast with great food and amazing people…Anyone that follows The Chronicles and my adventures through life know that Midnight Garage and The Chronicles go hand-in-hand. It’s been a place for me to hang out whenever I have free time, and everyone that I know that has been apart of the Honda community has been by there at least once to chill. It was just a couple weeks ago that the east coast/midwest guys came out and stopped by to hang out. S2kjay’s car was just chilling out back and we were snapping pics of it…

Ahh how quickly things change…I’ve taken you guys on a guided tour of the place from the moment it has opened its doors to the public, the ridiculous situation when Ross’s xB was vandalized, the rebuild of the Phaze2 NSX, and now today, I come to you with sad news…the end of Midnight Garage…

I woke up this morning (okay, it was like 2pm) to a phone call from Ross. Normally when he calls me it’s not really too important, maybe he just wanted to grab lunch or something. I as usual had been up until the earlier hours of the morning (7-ish cuz I was updating this site), so I didn’t answer. I was gonna call the dude back in 20 minutes once I collected myself and woke up. I call back to see what’s up and Ross tells me the news…

I’d tell you what he told me but I think a picture would express  it more appropriately…

This was the scene as I arrived…the whole street had been blocked off and traffic was being redirected so I had to pull into another lot and walk over…

What once looked like this when I rolled up to Midnight Garage…

…now looked like this…

It’s all gone. What we knew as Midnight Garage…no more. Just charred remains of what was once Ross’s everything…

My buddy Tony Lee had been passing by to get some stickers from Island Motorsports and saw smoke coming from the top of the building. He pulled up to the lot and noticed that the building next door’s rear door was turning brown…Apparently the owner of the shop next door had put something in his trashcan that wasn’t completely put out yet and the fire started up inside his shop and had somehow found an opening where the piping runs through both buildings and once the fire department pulled up, Midnight Garage just lit up and caught fire. Jimmy, who owns a metal fabrication shop a couple spots down, was close with Ross and wasn’t sure if anyone was inside so he went and tried to bust the doors down to no avail. The fire began to spread fast and luckily nobody was inside. Everyone had gone out to run errands not too long before that and the only part of the Midnight Garage family, Delilah the shop dog was still inside. We lost her. The shop dog that Ross and Sara so deeply loved…passed.

She had made her way to the bathroom to hide after the fire set off and she couldn’t handle the smoke inhalation. Firefighters took her out once the fire was out before Ross arrived back at the shop…

After the fire was completely out and the fire department was finishing up, we were finally able to take a look at the damage inside…

It didn’t look good at all…There was an Infiniti M35 that was inside as well and Ross had just left to go pick up some parts for the Universal Air system that he was gonna install this weekend…

I was speechless when I walked in…so much lost…it wasn’t even recognizable…From the outside, the M looked okay, we thought that there was just minor fire damage to the front end of it but once we got in there, that thing was toast…

All the tires and wheels that were inside had to be cleared out and was probably a major contributor in what made the fire so huge…

I kinda had a feeling it was gonna be unscathed even with the huge fire and I was right…

Underneath the burnt rubble against the shelf that had undoubtedly caught fire first, was my piece of shit Rota Slipstream wheel that I was intending to make into my Rotamaster Emo wheel…

Here’s a shot of the taillight on the M35 so you can get an idea of the extent of damages inside the shop…

The office was a bit better than the bay…mostly just smoke and water damage but it was just a mess. Surprisingly the most random things didn’t burn. The posters Ross had collected were just fine, as well as Tony’s NSX hood that he a bunch of import models sign and was keeping a memorabilia…

Here’s the ceiling of the office…the fire had begun to spread up there but firefighters were able to put it out. One of the guys that helps Ross out regularly had his custom kit for his xB sitting up on the ceiling area and it was so badly charred that he had wrapped itself around one of the metal ventilation tubes…

Since they were gonna board the place up and shut everything down, we had to empty out whatever was salvageable and move it to a storage unit. Surprisingly a lot of stuff in the office was straight…Laptop, computer, and all the important files and what not made it out fine…

Good thing Ross had great friends to come by and help out. Even Big Mike came down to lend a helping hand. By 10pm everything was almost out and a crew came by to begin boarding the shop up. The fire had started next door but Ross’s shop had so much more to burn and the fire hit Midnight Garage the hardest. It’s still unbelievable to look at the pictures now…

I mean, everything material is obviously replaceable but it’s just the time and blood, sweat, tears that were invested. That’s just stuff you can never get back. Plus there’s so much paperwork and stuff to deal with now and re-building is going to be quite a journey. I honestly don’t know what Ross is going to do next. It’s a shitty circumstance to deal with and I wouldn’t wish anything like this upon anyone….it’s gonna be fucking brutal the next couple months. My heart really goes out to Ross…man, just when he was starting to do really well and grow, shit like this hits the fan and we’re back to square one…and to lose another dog…man I can’t even begin to imagine what that’s like…

All we can really do right now and sit and wait, and face whatever will come in the future head on….I’ll try to keep you guys up to date on what’s to come. I can’t really say if Ross will rebuild or not, I was with him the majority of the day and he and Sara were just kinda going through the motions. I don’t even think it has really hit them yet…

This is probably the least important of all that has happened but I told you guys about a bumper that I had been searching a long time for. I called it my “unicorn” not thinking I would ever find it. It was a JDM Cima GT front bumper that’s super rare because of the OEM optional lip that it came with. Believe me, that thing was rare…..one day while I was going through Yahoo Japan auctions, crazy enough, I found that shit. I was willing to pay whatever they were asking for and even managed to bring it over. It was sitting in Ross’s shop awaiting paint and fuck man…

…no more…where it was sitting in the shop I’m sure it was the first to burn. I don’t even know where the lip is at, probably melted onto the floor. Good thing the fogs were boxed up in the bathroom where it only saw some light smoke damage. I was able to save that and it’s sitting in my 4Runner now making the whole inside of the car smell like a smoke…I’m sure I’ll be able to find another one, just sucks that we all lost a little something in there. Tony had just picked up a rare Blitz kit for his GS300 the same time I got my bumper and now his sideskirts are toast.

At the end of the day of course all that stuff can be replaced…

I sent a text to Ross after I left…

“You have your life and those who think the world of you and care about you. That alone will give you the strength to get through anything.”

That’s all that really matters. Everything else is material and unimportant in the broader spectrum of life. Things can always be worse… It just sucks to have to deal with this stuff but we will all get through it…

That’s all I got for today…I’m exhausted…

Thanks to everyone that came out to help, I’m sure Ross appreciates you guys to no end.

Goodbye Midnight Garage and rest in peace to Delilah the puppy…

Well this is ANHteresting…

I sit here today, speaking to you proudly like a father with a newborn in his hands…oh man…it is going to be quite a month for Hondas in magazines. I mean, every month is great (obviously), because I and many others in the industry work our asses off month after month to bring you the best reading material on earth. We’re not slacking here, but this coming month…oh man..I can honestly say that I am excited about it. In Super Street, we have a dual cover feature with Ryan Der’s Civic and Anh Truong’s DC. Both of these guys are from ATS*Garage and couldn’t be happier sharing the cover with one another. Anh’s been following The Chronicles for a long time so it’s good to see him getting the spotlight. Not only has he followed my random ramblings here but I also had the pleasure of writing up his feature for Super Street. I also wrote Ryan’s of course, and it was cool to learn more about the build because other than running into it at events, I hadn’t really taken a close look at it. Both are deserving of the cover for Super Street’s annual “Honda Issue”. The magazine is completely loaded with Honda content so it’s definitely worth it to fork out the loot for it. I’m saying this purely as a fan of the magazine and Hondas in general. Super Street doesn’t pay me to say this stuff nor would I think that it would be in their budget for me to plug their shit, haha. It’s just a great issue. It also marks my debut as a feature photographer. Now I’ll be the first one to tell you that I am no pro and I don’t even consider myself to be a photographer. I just do that shit for fun. So when Jonathan Wong hit me up to go shoot Bisimoto’s Wagovan, I was kinda nervous about it. Well, after it’s all said and done, I’m still unsure on whether or not I’m happy with how the pics came out. I guess it’ll all depend on how it looks in the magazine. It either came out pretty decent or it’s an outstanding failure that will make you throw your copy of SS away. Either way, we already got your money so it’s okay…ha. Just check it out, if the pics are kinda whack, at least you can read the article on it. I’m not photographer but I like to think of myself as an okay writer. I mean, it’s been putting food on my table for the past 3 years so I must be doing something right…

Now of course, the Super Street Honda Issue is coming out and I am excited about it, but what makes this coming month EVEN BETTER, is that the new Honda Tuning that is coming out is also the shit. Not only is Rodrez doing an awesome job at the helm, but this coming issue will feature non-other then a very good buddy of mine and someone whose car has probably become quite familiar to you guys. The car I’m speaking of is the final Phaze2 car to make it into a mag and that is Tony Khamly’s Sorcery NSX. This completes our stable and I wouldn’t have it any other way than to close it out with the NSX. I had a chance to see the preview of the layouts last week at the Source Interlink office and it came out great. It’s got this whole central red/black look to the issue and it looks amazing. I was thoroughly impressed by it and I can’t wait for it to hit newstands. Rodrez himself said that he was gonna send some teaser shots over to me so I can get it up on the site here so you guys can get an early look at it. I’ll try to get that up for you guys this weekend.

So Super Street Honda Issue and Phaze2 NSX in Honda Tuning this coming month, pick that shit up and read for once in your life!! I lose sleep to make sure you guys have quality stuff to look and read through when you pick up your favorite automotive publications! Save the magazine industry and pick these up!

This shit is gonna be so great that I might even go buy some myself! Apparently they’re out in Norcal already but if you don’t see them, it’s probably because Anh bought every copy in existence up there…

Cop that shit!!!

Random Wednesdays…

No update yesterday because I spent the better part of my day re-arranging my room to accomodate my new desk. I’ve been needing a new one because the keyboard drawer on my old desk just kinda likes to collapse whenever it wants. Sometimes I’ll be typing and then that shit just collapses on me. Luckily thanks to you guys for purchasing all the Chronicles merchandise, I’ve finally made enough to get a new desk. Now I don’t have to stack two tv-dinner tables together and put a cutting board on top for me to cut stickers. Speaking of which, I know there are many of you who are awaiting orders, they will be going out in the next couple days once I finished it all up. I apologize for the delay but with work and barely finding time to fix my room, it has just been crazy hectic. I’m finishing them up now as I type and they will go out shortly. For the international guys, I know sometimes it may be hard to understand the translations from babelfish or whatever you’re using, but international orders need to inquire before orders can be placed. I’ve been getting a couple orders from overseas and I gotta hold them now until I get a response from the buyers…

Anyways, the pic above is from a photoshoot I did for Super Street. The Amuse S2000 pictured belongs to a guy by the name of Bobby Taylor. He’s a cool dude who actually takes this thing out and tracks it. It has all the gashes and chips to prove it too, haha. I’ve been working on the pictures the last couple nights as well so that’s why you haven’t heard much from here. Going a different direction with the processing this time around so we’ll see how it comes out…It’s always good to try new things…

Time for bed and then back to work. I’ll see if I can dig up some stuff for you guys. I’ve got some things laying around that I’ve been meaning to show you guys but there’s just been so many different things goin on lately…

R.I.P. Juan Lemus aka “del Slo SiR”

I had other stuff to bring you guys but I think today should be a time to have a moment of silence for one of our fellow enthusiasts. Juan Lemus aka “del Slo SiR” was involved in a car accident and tragically lost his life early Sunday morning of this past weekend. I didn’t know him personally but was familiar with his posts on NWP4Life and also share many mutual friends with him and I can’t even begin to imagine what they and his family are going through right now. It’s always a shame to lose someone within the community, especially consideirng all the lives they influenced and the smiles they put on other people’s faces everyday. It’s even harder to consider what his loved ones must endure losing someone special to them at such a young age. Over the years we’ve lost a couple of great people in this community and you never learn to accept the fact that someone is taken away from you so unexpectedly. What we can do however is pull together and give the friends and family of Juan Lemus strength to endure and remember the wonderful person that he was…

A moment of silence…

Rest in Peace… Juan Lemus “del Slo SiR” 12/12/1986 – 5/23/2010

Eibach 2010 Coverage…Part 4: The rest of it…

Well, this is it…the last of the Eibach 2010 coverage. As you can tell by the picture above, the crowd started to head out and I was finally able to get some better shots of some of the cars that I liked. This last part probably won’t contain anything you haven’t seen before. It’s just some of my favorite builds that I wanted to get a closer look at but was unable to because of the hoards of spectators. I kinda prefer to take pics towards the end, it’s just so much easier. That and I’m kind of a shitty photographer so the less things in front of me the better, haha….Anyways, let’s get on with it…

This DC belongs to none other than Autofashion Freddie. He just recently picked up another Honda too. I was wondering if he was over VIP stuff and have made the full fledge conversion back to Hondas and he said no. He said he’s just building Hondas now because he wants the best of both worlds. Must. Be. Nice…

Parked next to it was Autofashion Bobby’s Integra. I’m sure you’ve all seen it on here a couple times if you follow The Chronicles…

Words cannot describe how much better Ejay’s DA looks with these wheels. Oh man, it just changes the entire look of the car. It sits so much better and it’s probably the best DA out there right now with an airbrushed city on the hood and whose owner is named Ejay…Haha…

Peep all the new Skunk2 gear…

DPK David of course…Look out for him in a future issue of Import Tuner magazine…congrats homie…

I had to take another picture of this hatch because it’s so nice and this is a much better angle. Okay I’m lying, it’s basically the same picture but it moved up like 2 inches…The hatch next to it belongs to a buddy of David’s and it is one of the newest additions to the DPK line-up. Why I didn’t take a picture of it I don’t know…I kinda wish I did. I’m sure I’ll see and hear a lot more about it in the future though…

Meanwhile, over in Ryan Der’s area, there was a guy with his shirt tucked into his dickies that was enjoying Anh’s Integra…

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a coincidence that these two parked together seeing as how they’re gonna both be on the cover of Super Street magazine next month. I know this not because I wrote the features for both of them but because I got 65 Facebook updates about it…thanks Anh!…

Super rare Billion hoses…

14th picture of the Rywire CR-X…I made up for last year because I almost forgot to get a picture of it…

The gold plated wheels and the blue are an interesting combination…Definitely not something you see often but I guess it works…It’s rare to see this coupes worked on in the first place so it’s refreshing to see it…

One more pic for the birthday boy…

“G’d up ass Chris” rolling around…

JDM Matter once again…

Can’t wait til Salem gets the rest of his J’s Racing stuff on and dials in the height…

No…

Noel showing Old Skool Shaun how manly it is to ride in a Del Sol together…

Notice that girl that’s walking away? Well this is totally random but I guess her and her man or whatever ALWAYS argue at events. I don’t know them nor do I know why, but it’s pretty fuckin dramatic. I first noticed this when I was in Norcal walking back to the Wek’Fest event after moving my car. I kinda randomly saw them yelling at eachother while crossing the street. I mean, I see people argue all the time and it’s none of my business, but the dude gets fucking heated!! Oh man, I never seen anyone yell like that. I mean I witnessed this while I wasn’t even close to them. I turned to whoever was with me and was like “what the fuck was that all about?” and then that was the end of it…so I thought…Come Eibach, I see these two bickering again, and it was even more crazy. Dude was nutso!! He needs anger management or something cuz this dude was like ripping into her and then he started punching the fucking concrete sidewalk!! Dude was maaaaaaaddddd…like I wanted to call the police or some shit. Man, I run into like literally thousands upon thousands of people at every event and I don’t even remember most of the people I come across (sorry) but this shit I cannot forget! Holy shit, it was borderline scary to watch!…

Great fitment…

J’s Racing lip on the Tank…

Shout-out to PlanB Mike…

Hybrid Racing…

Big Mike…

This is the Honda Tuning Magazine project car…Rodrez has been busy getting a bunch of stuff prototyped for it and it currently has Tein coilovers and 19-inch Advan RS-Ds. Future plans include some custom body pieces like a rear wing and front lip. I didn’t think these things would look good modified compared to the older more popular TSX but so far so good…

That’s all folks. After we loaded up the stuff from the booth, I headed home and showered and crashed out. I woke up around 10 at night and went to Long Beach to go chill with the east coast guys before they left the next day. Good times for sure. Eibach 2010 is a wrap. I’m happy to say that I was apart of the best Eibach Meet yet, can’t wait for next year….PEACE.

Eibach 2010 Coverage…Part 3: Aimlessly walking around…

You know what I noticed was all over Eibach this year? Besides all the Chargespeed fenders and low offset wheels, I saw a bunch of fake Sprint Hart CP-Rs with the stickers on them. I don’t mean Rotas that were blank, people were blatantly trying to front like they were the real shit. The saddest part about it was that the stickers weren’t even the right font or anything. Guys had like Times New Roman font and shit. It didn’t look anything like it. On top of that they also had the Honda centercaps on them. Why do people do that? It’s like a tranny trying to pose as a female but he has his dick out or something, it’s ridiculous. I was foaming at the mouth when I was parking these cars. Luckily I didn’t have my camera on me or this whole section of the coverage would have been covering purely fake CP-Rs.

Another thing I noticed was all the nice Accords out. There were a bunch of nice fifth generation Accords that were parked around the side of the building but I didn’t make it back there in time to capture them. Anyway, on with the coverage…

I see this RSX every year at Eibach, and it’s usually parked in the same spot too. Very nice build though I must admit the color of the bay still throws me off til this day. I mean, I wish it was just color matched. It would be so much cleaner. Especially with the candy red valve cover which also kinda throws me off. It’s like red, and then copper and the candy red…I don’t know. Not my car, it’s nice though don’t get me wrong, I’m just saying… The Top One aero looks great on it…

This of course is Bisimoto’s 700hp+ Civic Wagovan. I’ve had the pleasure of taking a up close look at it at Bisi’s shop and even shooting it and I’m glad I had the opportunity to do so. The thing is a beast…

This DB had some nice paint. It’s just in desperate need of a wetsand. I think it’s supposed to be like that chrome metallic looking paint. I could be wrong, it might just be like a candy green or something. Once the paint is finished it should look pretty impressive…

I had heard alot about this Accord over the years when I was deep in the CB7 community. This car is almost a stuff of legends to those guys. It’s remained relatively the same for the past 5 years or so I believe exterior-wise. The only thing that has changed is the K swap and turbo set-up. This thing is nuts and I’m glad I finally got to see it in person. The outside of the car is dated and pretty hideous looking but who cares, this Accord is fast as fuck. It’s like that epic beard man guy that was all over Youtube. He’s an old man but he’ll fuck shit up… you know what I mean?…

Haha, I can’t get over that guy’s expression on the right with the drink in his hand. Looks like he just saw a ghost or something. I guess Sheepey’s hatch has that affect on people…

I love and hate this picture. On one hand it’s a great representation of East meets West, where two of the best from each end are united in one place…on the other hand the colors remind me of Tropical Skittle which taste like total shit…That and Bonb is like in every fucking picture. Jesus, get outta the way!!…

I remembering asking Jay if his S2000 got a lot of looks that day and he was like “Nah man, I was parked next to Big Mike”….haha, that’s messed up…

It is pretty hard to ignore this build though, it has it all…

I believe this RSX belongs to Jose Guzman aka JDM Matter. He’s been a loyal follower of The Chronicles and it’s cool to see his car finally finished…

I wrote a feature on this DC a couple months back and it’s seen some changes since then. The bay has been redone and looks much better than before and it’s also rolling on some refinished “Mag Blue” wheels…

This guy must really dislike Neons…It’s kinda like being mad at the sandwich you dropped on the floor like 3 years ago. Clean DC though, really like the 949 wheels…

Speaking of 949 wheels, here’s a custom black chrome set. I don’t know why I didn’t take a picture of the hatch that these wheels were on but it was a pretty clean build. I gotta look through the rest of the pics because I’m pretty sure there’s a picture of it somewhere…

Travis came out to chill, cauliflower ear and all…

I was supposed to go set-up a shoot with this Civic awhile back but just never got a chance to follow through. It has to have one of the cleanest bays out there and the valve cover is truly one of a kind…

Another shot of Sam’s Civic…

Noel’s Spoon’d-out Del Sol…

Rywire CR-X needs no introduction…

I had the pleasure of writing a feature on this Del Sol from ATS Garage for Honda Tuning. Looks even better now with a front lip…

Gary with the concave Christmas set-up…

Ryan Der’s J’s Racing wing…

…and bay…

DPK David bringing a Falken tire display for a meet!…

Ejay’s bay…

DC5*Brian…

Tank…

Autofashion Bobby…

Super blown out pic of Jeremy’s TSX…

Sea of people…

Mugen 4-door…

I decided to walk around to the side and rear of the event to see what was left. By this time a bunch of people had left already but it was still pretty crowded…

Seen It! crew S2000…this guys drove all the way out from Chicago to attend Eibach. Props to them for making the trip and then going to Vegas right after in their S2K…

K-swapped 4-door. There’s no engine shot because I was late but trust me, it’s in there…haha…

Clean EF…ran into the owner a couple times when I was parking the cars and he seems like a down to earth guy…

Hmm…

Anyways…This DC and Civic looked awesome…Really like the flares and front aero on the Civic…

Really liked this as well. Such a simple set-up but everything flows perfectly…

This Integra caught my eye while I was parking the cars in the back. Nice color and stance…made the long ass walk around back worth it…

Absolutely loves this car… The re-barreled BBR Comps are badass… Also got a chance to meet Chris too and he’s a nice dude…

Saw this Del Sols lined up on my way back up to the booth…

Clean ass bay…

ICB CR-X…

Random shots of the Infinit Wheels Civic. I think I just decided to take these because there wasn’t like 64 people crowded around it at the time…

Bisi again…

A couple more cars rolled through towards the end of the day…

Ryan’s wheels…

…and his mutant dog…

I took a break at the tent for awhile and sold some more stuff before I headed out again to take pics. I’m gonna cut it off here for today. Before I got though, here are a couple of pictures of Alexisthemovie’s homies S2000. Super aggressive fitment on the TE37s…

Back again with more tomorrow…thanks for looking…

Eibach 2010 Coverage…Part 2: Here we go…

Alright, here are the first set of pics from the Eibach event. How many parts we’re gonna end up with is still up in the air because I think I have about 170 pictures or something to put up. There was actually more but some of them are headed over to Super Street so I couldn’t use those here. They’re not in any particular order so pardon the mess, I was busy most of the day running around everywhere and catching up with people as well as meeting new ones so I just snapped whatever caught my eye at that particular moment. I’m gonna start off with about 50 shots so be patient with all of them loading. Hopefully they don’t brick your phone or anything but they look better on a computer screen anyway…enjoy…

This is a familiar sight. We usually tell people not to show up early because to clogs up the street but of course, kids don’t know how to listen and they show up as early as 6am or whatever to flood the streets. Most of them aren’t even parking inside the gates, they just show up and park their cars up front so they can SEE the other cars come in…people even set chairs up on the road and sit down to watch…

…as we can clearly see here in the pics. You can kind of see me in the shot here standing next to DPK David and Rodrez. I was trying to lend a helping hand so I had Phaze2 Tony take my camera and get some roll-in shots for me…

DPK JP rolling up…I didn’t get a chance to say what’s up or get a shot of his car inside, luckily Tony was there to get him coming in…

PG+K S2kjay…

DPK David and his stickers that are invading eachother’s personal space…

Kinda sad I didn’t get a chance to get a closer look at this thing inside the building. Luckily it was shot recently for Honda Tuning magazine so keep an eye out for that. Notice the Chargespeed front fenders, they seem to be the popular item at the moment and were present on many other Civics inside…

L*Con prepped EP…

Here is the NWP booth, right next to it was The Chronicles booth which as you all know from reading the first part of the coverage, May was in charge of. She had cookies and even made a nifty sign for it. I didn’t get a shot of it at the show but here is what people were looking at when they walked up to the booth…

I had spent a majority of the night before cutting Eibach Edition stickers and was totally regretting losing sleep over it. I didn’t think they were gonna sell but I had already started and it would have been a waste cutting them since I wouldn’t be selling them online anymore after Eibach. Luckily those shits moved like hot cakes and were sold out a couple hours into the event. Shirts did really well too and I ended up selling all of the large black shirts. It was cool to see everyone with their shirts and stickers on that day, I guess I’m doing something right afterall…haha…or maybe it was the cookies that did it for everyone…

Ryan’s EF has always been the subject of great praise as well as controversy. The styling cues were a bit ahead of it’s time when it was active at shows. Ryan has gotten a bit older and doesn’t really do as many events as he used to but always finds time to make it out to Eibach. He switched up a couple things and once again refreshed the look of his EF. It was parked right in front of our booths and helped bring a lot of people over to us…

SSR 265s (?) with custom center caps…

Rodrez’s engine bay on his S2000. I have shots of the whole cars somewhere in the mix. It’ll pop-up…

You all know this NSX by now I’m sure. Be ready to see a lot more of it in about 3 weeks on newstands everywhere…

Marouj’s hatch is pictured above and this S2000 is his younger brother’s…

Sheepey and Arn’s cars always draw crowds…

Phaze2 Salem and his new concave TE set-up. These wheels were in pretty bad shape but Mikeyyyy had them repaired and refinished and they look as good as new on Salem’s TSX…

Jared and OldmanJames’ S2000s…

James’ S2000 just came out of paint recently and it looks pretty good with the Spoon bumper…

Arn’s hydrogen-powered Integra…

Loved this hatch…

Arnel surprised everyone with some new additions to his hatch. I had no idea he was doing any of this and I stood there for a while just staring at all the new stuff…

First obvious change is the ITBs and you can see the new radiator lines here…

…a closer look reveals the relocated water neck…

…and the tucked radiator…

Here is what it all looks like from the side…

…and from a distance…

…Not really sure what was going on here…

Mike G’s triumphant return…I walked back a couple more times to get some pics of the Tank so keep an eye out for those…

Plan: B Motorsports custom b-series valve cover with removable timing cover…

Chargespeed fenders…

This is the worst possible picture ever of DPK Slappy but I forgot to include it in the first part that spotlighted all the people of Eibach. It was nice to meet him and talk to him for a bit and he also helped me take some pictures at Northwood Pizza. He’s super happy in this picture because he was looking at this…

S2kjay’s engine bay…

Very nice purple hatch from ATS Garage…

I stopped by to talk to Anh for a bit. He was showing me his new wheels that didn’t get finished in time and just talking to me about a bunch of other random stuff…

Teal everywhere…

…even his oil catch can and subframe at coated in teal…

I also asked Anh how it felt to be up in the front for a change and how far his build has come since last year’s Eibach. If you look at pics from 09, you can see his Integra parked in the back and it looked completely different from the Super Street cover car that it is now…

Morgan’s EK9…

Sam from As1 showed up with a new Spoon Sports front bumper…It’s pretty aggressive and changes the whole look of the car, thumbs up from me…

Frank from Downstar Inc. showing off his nuts…

This dude had a Chronicles sticker on his valve cover…thanks for representing…

Gonna stop the coverage here for today…keep an eye out tomorrow for the next set…

Eibach 2010 Coverage…Part 1: The People…

I’m gonna start off the coverage of Eibach 2010 on a different type of vibe. Every year the Eibach event goes on and all we tend to see or care to see is the cars. Sure, the cars are important but many of the hardcore Honda heads from years past who have sort of grown up around other enthusiasts shift their attention away from the Hondas and care more about just showing up to see old friends. The people are the driving force behind the Eibach meet and without these special people, the events just aren’t the same. I know many of you who are still green will not recognize these people nor care for that matter but I think it’s important to showcase these individuals because they are the heart of soul of the Honda community. They don’t worry about what cars show up, who is parking where, what the cops are doing, or why whatever area isn’t open to the general public. These people show up, wake up early not to worry about where to park, but to come help out and to figure out the parking situation for others. Others come from opposite ends of the coast just to enjoy the Socal environment and to see what it’s like out here. I’m gonna start out today by highlighting the people that I have come to know who play a major role in my everyday life. If you’re mad about it and want to see cars, well come back tomorrow or don’t come back at all. The car pics are all over the web…today, we’re gonna people watch…

This is actually a shot of them in a rare moment when they could actually relax at the end of the day. The individual on the right is the one and only Rodrez. The Eibach Meet is made possible because of this man’s efforts. Ryan aka Vtecvoodoo is the other man behind the scenes that makes this happen. He unfortunately was busy the whole day and didn’t even have a chance to chill for a picture but These two deserve all the credit in the world. Tes of course is in the middle in the new NWP4Life shirt. She was running the NWP4Life booth and making sure everyone got their gear from the best Honda Enthusiasts forum on the web today. On the very left of course is May, she’s my inspiration everyday and did such a wonderful job this past weekend of running The Chronicles booth at Eibach. I was busy in the morning helping the staff park all the cars at the event and later on in the day I was running around doing coverage for this site and for work. Without her the booth would totally failed because I only had brief moments to go back and make sure Chronicles stuff went out to spectators. I can’t say enough about her and her efforts. I honestly felt bad that I wasn’t there enough to help…

She also spent the majority of her day pre-Eibach baking cookies to hand out to people. Everybody loves cookies and people who bought some stuff from me had cookies to snack on. That and our friends were stuck there the whole day helping out so cookies are always a delightful way of entertaining our growling stomachs. You’d be surprised by how many random people came by and ate cookies made by a total stranger. I could have dropped them on the floor and shit and people would have eaten them…haha…I couldn’t thank her enough. Who thinks of baking cookies for people at an event? May does….

These two of course are none other than Alex “Sheepey” Soto and Ryan “Rywire” Basseri. Two of the great minds involved in the Honda community today. You wanna talk about trendsetters and innovators of the “game”? Look no further than two guys…It’s a pleasure knowing you two…

You all know HeyMikeyyyy but the other two, you probably don’t have the slightest clue as to who they are. But they might know you. Takeshi and Tetsuya came all the way from Japan to attend the Eibach event. Takeshi comes out every year and even picked up a USDM ITR and imported it back to Japan. Takeshi runs TypeK Autosource in Japan and Tetsuya runs USDM Jam overseas. These guys are huge fans of the US Honda community and are a huge part in bringing our style of Hondas over to other Japanese enthusiasts who are fans of ours. It’s a rare opportunity when you meet enthusiasts from all the way out in Japan so it was cool to capture the moment. They were there from early morning all the way until the very end of the event. When I left they were still there looking at whatever cars were leftover. If that’s not a true enthusiast I don’t know what is…

Phaze2 family…love these guys to death, nothing really left to say about that…

Freddie from Autofashion brought out his crew and his equipment to make sure Eibach 2010 had music. Here he is showing love to NWP by putting a sticker on his own Integra. Imagine that, a VIP guy going back to his roots and building a Honda…

Much love to Autofashion for always coming out…

The Wek’Sos family came out to represent and eat Roscoe’s like every single day. Good to see these guys getting a chance to enjoy the environment for a change seeing as how crazy and hectic Wek’Fest was this year…

Chris aka The Blizzard Man came all the way from Chicago again this year to snap photos of the event. Good to see that he actually came out early and enjoyed life out here in Socal instead of just shooting pics, dying of heat stroke, and then going back home to Chi-town…

Speaking of which, Sean Bradford aka “23 dollar burger fuck my life” also came out across the country to enjoy Eibach 2010. Here he is with Big Mike. Big Mike was busy all day fielding questions from everyone in sight. There was a constant crowd around his Prelude all day and it was much deserved…

East coast and midwest heads from both Hybrid Racing and PG+K out to enjoy Eibach 2010. I hung out with the PG+K guys all week and they’re a bunch of chill guys who came out to have a good time. It was cool meeting all of them…

BonB and S2kJay chillin in the shade…

Rywire here getting interviewed by Brandon aka “Lost is Black” for his Autolife series of documentaries covering the Socal honda community…

I haven’t seen Opi in ages, probably a good 3 years I would say…a rare appearance for sure…

Fred Chapman aka ATS*Fred. Actually met this guy playing Street Fighter long before any car stuff…Can’t wait for him to finally get a legit XBox so I can smash on him again…haha…

The homies John, Murdock, and Doug. Can’t thank Doug and Salem enough for helping with the parking situation. They helped a great deal and didn’t have to and it is much appreciated…

Noah and Mike G from AM7 fame…Eibach marked the return of the Tank and it definitely was one of the highlights of this year…

Jeremy is also first to lend a helping hand every year at Eibach events and there were some guys that even threatend to fight him because he wouldn’t let them into the gates since the event was sold out. Real classy individuals…really guys, shit ain’t that serious…

Old Skooly Shaun and “DelSolSIR” Noel crusing around towards the end of the event in Noel’s Del Sol…

Jared was also a huge helping hand in getting the cars parked in the morning. He almost got ran over too because apparently, parking is too fucking hard for people to comprehend. Jared told the guy to back-up repeatedly and somehow the guy just kept stepping on the gas and the guy’s car hit Jared’s legs and pushed him forward…

Mike G was all smiles as he got ready to load his car back onto the trailer. He’s got little things to finish up before the car is fully operational but it was nice to see him and his car out in public for once. Most people haven’t seen Mike’s Tank in 4 years or so and many of them didn’t even know that the car still existed. It was a surprise just to see it in it’s new revamped form…

That’s all I got for today…still got a lot of processing ahead of me so keep on the look-out for that. Thanks for looking and thanks once again to everyone who contributed…

Recovery day…

Well, Eibach 2010 went off without a hitch…It was definitely a great event and may possibly be the best Eibach yet. Between parking all the cars in the morning and running around doing coverage all day, I am beat. My body is feeling it right now and I’m gonna chill and do the processing of all these photos so I can get them up for you guys. Thanks to everybody that helped and especially to May, Tina, Noel, etc. who helped me man The Chronicles booth. It was an amazing day and plenty of Chronicles merchandise was sold. I was seeing the shirts everywhere throughout the day and I can’t thank you guys enough! We even managed to sell out of the large black tees so if you need one of those, unfortunately they’re all gone for now. I’ll bring them back during the next batch of new shirts. Man, what a day…so many people all over the place. Time to recover…be back later…Peace.

NWP4LIFE & The Chronicles gear for sale tomorrow at Eibach 2010…

You heard right guys, NWP4LIFE and The Chronicles will have a booth right by the front gate with merchandise for sale. NWP will be debuting their new shirts and stickers and I will have Chronicles t-shirts and Eibach Edition Chronicles stickers for sale. I will also have some regular chrome on black original Chronicles stickers on hand but in very limited quantity so if you want to pick up some stuff, make sure to do it early. It’s gonna be crazy tomorrow with all the Hondas and spectators and what not. Make sure to stay cool and be respectful of others. We’re working hard to get everyone into the show in a timely manner so please have patience.

Eibach 2010, see you guys there! Make sure to come by the booth and say what’s up!

California love…

Damn, decided to bring some of the PG+K guys out to the real NWP (Northwood Pizza) so that they can experience it for themselves and say that they really ate at NWP and it became a full on intercontinental summit. It was pretty crazy the amount of people that showed up. We ended up having dinner with guys from Chicago, Louisiana, Tennessee, Atlanta, Texas, and Norcal. Shit was crazy. A bunch of Socal heads came out too including DPK David, Big Mike, even Rodrez stopped by. I was busy having dinner so I didn’t want to take too many pics but thanks for everyone for coming out. Sometimes the best things are the ones that are never planned and this dinner tonight proved exactly that. Eibach 2010 is gonna be serious!…

Pizza heaven…

DPK in the house…

Great night, thanks again….

Ready to roll…

Spent most of the day cutting decals and going to the post office but in the evening I had a chance to meet up with the PG+K guys once again to go grab some dinner with them. Chris aka CRSfoto aka The Blizzard Man had just flown in earlier in the day so it was a good time to go eat and do some catching up. Jay brought the S2K down to my area and I got a chance to take some quick pics of it with the wheels finally on. I wasn’t too sure about the gold/Laguna Seca Blue combination but it actually looks really good…

Big Mike decided to come out and chill too since he hadn’t ever met the guys before…

Big Mike and Chris…

Chris was taking random pics as well while the other guys just drank some beers and chatted in the lot at Midnight Garage…

Conversations were had…

Ride height is money…They spent the majority of the afternoon putting the wheels on, dialing in the ride height as well as getting it washed…

Full frontal…

That’s it for today…gonna head out with PG+K, maybe David and a couple other homies to the original Northwood Pizza so they can get the full NWP experience…

PG+K is in the building…

A couple of the PG+K guys have been out here since Monday or so but it wasn’t until yesterday that I finally had a chance to meet up with them. They were over at Showstoppers USA waiting for S2KJay’s S2000 to arrive from the auto transport. I got there around 2:45 or so and just shot the shit with them while we were waiting for Mikeyyyy to show up from wherever he was at and for the S2k…

I forget what time it showed up but it arrived shortly after Mikeyyyy got there. The wheels aren’t on it yet because they didn’t come in on time to leave with the transport but they’ll be in Cali by today…

Looked kinda sketchy sitting under that big ass truck on the auto transport but everything was cool…

Unloading…

Random shot of Mikeyyyy’s xB…

After the car was unloaded and stored away in a safe place, we decided to go kill a little bit of time and wait for the traffic to die down so we went over to Wingstop for a quick snack…

A snack from Wingstop, as you all know, usually ends up looking like this…

I didn’t eat of course cuz I knew we were gonna grab more food later but man, that shit was tempting….

After that, the PG+K guys headed back down to where they were staying at so they could check-in at their hotel…There was a meet that Mikeyyyy told us to go to at night so it was just a matter of killing some time…

The meet was crackin’ but as usual with most meets with a bunch of random ass kids, dumb shit happens and people do burn-outs in the parking lot and shit and try to drive really fast when people are walking around…

East stands next to west and don’t talk to eachother…haha…just kidding, everyone was pretty chill with eachother. By Eibach I’m sure we’ll all be acquainted…

Random RSX at the meet…

Gary and his green wheels…

After the cops came and broke up the meet and told everyone to go home, we stood around the parking lot for awhile before we finally headed out to a thai spot to grab some late night dinner…

It was delicious as usual and after eating we just all headed back to our respective homes and got prepared for the next day when more east coast guys were rolling in…

I’m fucking exhausted, time for bed…If you try to get ahold of me today and I don’t respond, I guarantee you I’ll hit you back up in the afternoon. I won’t be functional in the morning. Just call or text, or whatever and I’ll get back to you guys ASAP….peace for now….

Countdown begins…

While the Lakers are on a week long break, the majority of us Socal guys are getting ready for the big event this weekend that is Eibach. I’m supposed to meet up with some of the PGK guys today and chat with them for a bit so that’ll be interesting. Some of these guys have been out here since Monday so we gotta go show them some west coast love…

Just a couple other random things today…

More stickers were shipped out today with the Eibach Edition stuff having priority so if you haven’t received anything yet, keep an eye out for it because it is coming very soon to your mailbox…

Parking is gonna be interesting at Eibach so I suggest you VIP guys show up on time and in an orderly fashion or else the streets will be flooded again and the cops will be pissed off. We want to keep things as orderly as possible to make parking simple. The guys who aren’t VIP, please show up at your designated time. Don’t go showing up super early when the VIP guys are supposed to roll in because it will just create extra clutter and crowd the streets even more.

Also, make sure to bring your Eibach paypal receipts with you. YOU NEED TO HAVE CONFIRMATION. We’re not gonna let people go on the basis that their cousin bought their spot or some shit or “homies took care of it”. It doesn’t work that way and it’s just gonna be a bigger mess than it has to be. If you don’t have a printer, just go to your friend’s house or something. It’s 2010 folks, printers are readily available. If you don’t have paperwork, you will not get in. Plan and simple. We will be working hard to accomodate everyone but don’t make our jobs even harder than it has to be. The guys that are helping out aren’t paid employees, we’re there to help move things along because we are out there to have a good time and enjoy the event also. Please be considerate of others…

NWP4Life will also be there with brand new shirts with a new design, so be on the lookout for that. The booth will be on the rightside of the gate when you come inside and you’re facing the building. It should be easy to find because the vendors are usually in the same spot every year. I will also have Chronicles stuff for sale at the booth too so the guys that want to pick up some gear will have an opportunity to do so…

That’s about it for today, I gotta run around town and meet up with a lot of the out of town folks. Tomorrow more people will be coming in as well so it’ll be cool to see some of the guys again. Can’t believe it has already been so many months removed from Wek’Fest. Oh how time flys….

Today we remember…

It’s exactly a year ago today when we lost our friend Armando Flores Jr. 365 days later, I still find it hard to muster up the right words to say to truly do this man justice. I can’t sit here and tell you that he and I were very close or that we were the best of friends but the times I had with him, I will never forget. I have a connection with him in that we both share the same wonderful group of people that we both consider our dearest friends. I will never know Armando the way they knew him but for me, he continues to live everyday in their eyes. I have been fortunate enough to know these people and have them tell me the stories of this man who they cherished so deeply. Since his passing, I have had the great pleasure of meeting his father and simply talking to him and feeling his positive energy is a reminder of the influence his son left on everyone that cared about him. It warms my heart to see that he is living life through his son’s eyes and experiencing everything as if his son were still with us. If anything, I have only grown closer to my friends and realize that every moment we spend together is every bit as important and the best memories I have of them. Thank you Armando Flores Jr., for living your life the only way you knew how and leaving your best moments in the hearts and minds of the people you loved. Today we not only live life in your memory but we celebrate the life that you have lived…

A son, a brother, and a true friend to all…

May 11th, 2009, we will never forget.

Armando Flores Jr.

Rest in Peace.

Eibach week!!…

Let the mayhem begin!…oh man, so much to do this week with Eibach this weekend. Honestly I didn’t even expect it. Shit has been hectic the last couple months and Eibach kinda just creeped up on all of us. I’m pretty excited about this event as I’m sure all of you are as well. This might be the biggest and best of all time so be prepared to see some of the best Hondas in the country in one place at one time. Usually when events like this happen we got a lot of guys from all over coming out to visit so it’ll be good to meet new faces and get reacquainted with the old. I’m gonna try my best to capture even more pics of the people involved in the community and not just the cars. Hopefully everyone lets me know when they’re gonna be out here so I can adjust accordingly and make time to hang out with everyone. I’m pretty loaded up with actual work for the next day or so as well as cutting the rest of the stickers for everyone so if you don’t hear from me, just trust that I’m working hard and getting everything ready.

Also have to talk to Ken Myoshi this week about Nisei Import Showoff. He wanted to work on something special for The Chronicles for the event in August so we’ll see how that goes once I figure everything out….busy busy….but time for bed for a change. Been driving all over Socal this weekend…Happy Mother’s Day to all your mothers, and of course to mine….belated but it’s the thought that counts, not that I think you guys want me to get to know your mothers or anything. Time to knock the fuck out….

In the making…

Work in progress, everyone that ordered should be receiving their’s shortly!…

The finished products…

Red mirror chrome on black lettering…

Eibach 2010 Limited Edition Chronicles stickers coming real soon!…

Just another quick update….I went outside today and at my front door was the red mirror chrome that I’ve been waiting to come in. The material looks awesome and cutting of the Eibach Edition Chronicles stickers will begin this weekend. If you haven’t got your’s yet make sure to grab them now, it’s all first come first serve basis like the Wek’Fest Edition ones and when they’re gone, they’re gone! Go to the store now if you’re interested in picking some up!!

Don’t mind the Kimbo sticker on the bottom, haha….

Hondas at the Revue…

Now that everything over at NWP4LIFE is seemingly back in order, we can turn our focus back on the cars. “The Revue” event at 5Axis happened over the weekend but I was unable to attend due to a friend’s birthday celebration in Las Vegas. Friends and family come first so I had to make the decision to go spend the weekend in Vegas. I know, it was a hard choice, haha….Luckily Tony Lee from the “It’s JDM Yo!!” blog was kind enough to get some extra shots of the Hondas at Revue. Nothing really new, just the usual suspects that we’ve all come to know but it’s always good to see them. I can’t really tell you how the show went because I wasn’t there but from Tony’s pictures, it looked like a good time. I gotta get back to work so here are the pics…

Big Mike of course…

Travis aka CamoTrav…

Autofashion Bobby in his street-trim wheel set-up…

Nilo’s NSX…you probably recognize him more as the guy who owns the xB with the digital camo vinyl wrapped exterior. You can spot it in the background here and as you can see, the car has been rewrapped…

Tjin Edition Fit…haven’t really seen this thing in awhile, probably over a year but I guess it’s still around…

The birthday boy’s NSX. While he was in Las Vegas partying, Ross from Midnight Garage was driving his NSX around…

That’s all for today…thanks again to Tony Lee for the shots…

Update to The Chronicles Official Storefront…

The Chronicles Official storefront has been updated. There are a couple new items in the store so check it out and see if you like anything. Red mirror chrome vinyly should be in by tomorrow and I will begin cutting the Eibach Edition stickers as well as completing the other orders that have been placed since late last week. Thanks for the support guys, it means a lot that people rep this shit on their cars. You people are amazing…

Click on fapping Robocop to get to the store or simply look to your right for the link to it…. thanks again…

For those of you that didn’t notice, the post before this is news on the return of NWP4Life. If you guys have been waiting for news, it’s the next post below. Hopefully you guys know how to scroll down and shit…cool, laters….

Back for the first time…

Well it was a fairly quick transition and we’re still working out all the kinks but NWP4LIFE is now officially back. Thanks to Dustin for getting everything up and running again….

Allow Rodrez to re-introduce you to the forum…

“We’re back. Not at 100% yet, but we’re working on it. A big thank you to everyone that’s supported the site, thank you to Dustin for his hard work, and a huge middle finger to those that tried to bash the site through it’s short lived tough time. We’re back.”

A majority of the old data amd threads should resurface fairly soon so please try to take it easy with the thread creating and posting. If your thread is gone or you haven’t been able to find stuff, well it should be obvious to you by now that there’s a chance it’s getting moved over or it wasn’t carried over because other more important data had to be saved. There is still much that needs to be done but for now, head over there and enjoy the new place. I’m sure most of you have had withdrawals by now…

The BRAND NEW NWP4LIFE forum…

The future of NWP4LIFE and clearing the air on some misconceptions…

Site traffic has been crazy today and I’m pretty sure that it has to do with NWP4Life going down. When you try and attempt to log on, you’ll probably end up seeing this…

Yup, definitely not the NWP you’re used to seeing. That’s because the old forum is long gone…wiped-out, non-existent. Before we go into a widespread panic, don’t worry, NWP is definitely coming back. They’re actually in the process of transferring the data over a new server. How much actually makes it is left to be determined but from what I’ve heard, all the important stuff will make it. By important stuff, I’m talking about the 1600+ thread-jacking thread, haha. Honestly, I don’t know what’s gonna make it but I know they tried to keep the most important things. Obviously there will be some differences and some changes, but it’ll definitely be the NWP that we have all come to know and the transition to the new forum should be a smooth one. Give it a couple more days and it’ll be back in business. All that data takes time to transfer over and NWP is just something they do for fun, which means that people have real jobs too. They’re doing everything in their power to get everything operational, so please be patient. Meanwhile you guys can head over to the NWP Facebook page and chat it up. Once the new NWP forum is running, there will be an announcement made there as well as over here on The Chronicles. I have a vested interest in NWP because I’ve called it my internet home for a couple years now, back before the Honda-Tech guys jumped over and I also act as a moderator on there to help maintain order. I’m just as anxious as all of you are about the future of NWP. When I originally heard about the possibility of it being shut down a couple weeks ago, I was just as shocked as all of you were.

Now to clear some misconceptions and misinformation. I know there’s been heavy traffic to this site today because people want to know what’s going on but it’s also because there are some individuals on other forums who have absolutely no idea what happened but like to make shit up because they’re bored and misinformed. I’m sure there are alot of Honda-techers talking shit right now about the site going down and celebrating. I looked through some of the forum posts from other sites that have linked back over here and there is a lot of misinformed people out there. I also looked through the search section and saw someone had searched this…

You can see above that people have searched for NWP as well as “get a boner”, but there is also one where apparently someone thought that NWP got shut down because they were sued by Honda-Tech. NOOOOO…completely untrue. Only way NWP is linked to that whole Dustin Adler/Honda-Tech lawsuit is because it was running on Zeroforum software. Somebody on another forum explained it best…

“H-T used to run on the message board software called, ZeroForum. A simplistic software that was written from scratch by a man named Dustin. He and a guy named Mike worked together to build H-T years back. Back when it was called something other than Honda-Tech.com.

A dispute happened between them, what seemed like money was the ’cause. Dustin got dropped by Mike, even though Dustin written all the codes and such. At this point, Mike owned Honda-Tech.

After a little while, Mike sold H-T to IB/Internet Brands for some funds. Which IB then transitioned H-T to run from ZeroForum to vBulletin software.

Since there were people who hated the new H-T and whatever, thinking it’s a nazi forum and what not. Some moved onto NWP, which runs on ZeroForum, ’cause they love that ‘simplistic’ feeling of a forum.

With that said, Dustin has sued Mike. And there has been a conclusion to their case, which affects the RelyNet/ZeroForum software and its use.

Which should explain some stuff. And that’s about all that should be known.

Get it? What needed to happen was that NWP had to find a new server and new software to run and that’s the transition period that we’re all experiencing right now. Many of you visit NWP but often times don’t venture over to the lounge section. There was an announcement made about everything last week by Rodrez but I guess a bunch of you missed out. This was what was said…

“It’s with great regret that I post this. Anyone that knows me personally, knows how much I care about this site and the people that have helped to make it grow into such a comfortable place.
By now I’m sure that everyone has heard about the court case that took place between the creators of Honda-Tech, Zeroforums, and Rely net. Due to the outcome of the case, there’s a very good chance NWP will be shut down. Some of the other forums using the same software have already been deleted.
We’re doing our best to find a solution, but at this point, it’s not looking good. This post isn’t to stir up panic, but rather to inform our loyal users about what’s going on. Before the haters and naysayers try spreading rumors about NWP, I wanted to get the truth out. This has nothing to do with anything we didn’t do right, the site has been growing rapidly over the past few years and we couldn’t be happier. This site was never about making money, never about trying to be the biggest or most visited, it was more about having a relaxed atmosphere for enthusiasts to gather and share.

The zeroforums system, IMO, is the absolute best ever created for an automotive forum. It’s ease of use, user friendly interface, and simple moderating options are second to none. If we do in fact get shut down, just know that we’re doing everything we can to get back up and running. Look toward the NWP facebook account and The Chronicles http://www.stickydiljoe.com for updates.
Please don’t PM with any questions, as I don’t have the answers to give you at this time.”

Now that that has been explained, let me comment on another post that someone made that is very misinformed. I’m not gonna post pictures of his car on here because I honestly don’t care for it, and the guy has already whored himself out all over the internet messageboards. He’s the owner of the orange EK Civic with all that random ass diffusers and shit on it. Anyways, he was banned almost a month ago because, well to put it best, he doesn’t know how to follow rules…

NWP has never been about making money. There are advertisers and such but that basically helps keep the site up and maintained. We (as the moderators) don’t really have a problem with people selling stuff. But there are simple rules to follow. SIMPLE RULES. You can’t be a business or small shop advertising on the classifieds without being a site “sponsor” because 1…it would clutter up the forums with shop posts, 2…businesses would basically be making money off the site by using it as an advertising tool for absolutely nothing, and that’s not what the site is about,  and 3)To keep the classifieds as clean and easy to navigate as possible, there was a specific rule where people should make ONE classified thread for all the items they were selling. If you posted multiple links when you could have just done one, it was deleted.

“SpecialK” was banned because he’s slow and has no concept of how to follow rules. And apparently he can’t fuckin read either. To say that NWP wanted to charge him $600+ dollars per year is ridiculous. He’s a small business even though he swears he isn’t, and the only time he ever posted on NWP was to sell his shit. Either that or it was to post “event coverage” where he basically posted 100s of pictures of his own car. If he didn’t want to be a site sponsor because he couldn’t afford it or didn’t want to, then it’s simple,…don’t sell shit and don’t post in the classifieds. Not only did he NOT follow directions, he continually posted his dumbass classified threads on multiple occassions. That bullshit was deleted and he was reminded to follow the rules. Like I mentioned earlier, he doesn’t know how to read. And he kept coming back after he was told specifically not to post his whackass shit for sale. I’m not saying he was warned just once or twice. Not even 5-6 times, not even 10 times but 14 FUCKING TIMES. You need to reevalutate your education when you get warned 14 times and then still attempt to post another 10 classified threads. The guy is clearly on some other world shit where he thinks he can do whatever he wants. So he was hit with the ban hammer and removed from the site. I mean, after 14 times, if you still don’t comprehend, you gotta go. Oh it didn’t end there either. Because as soon as he was banned, he went and signed up for another account right after he got notification that he got banned and the reason why he did. Hello? Are you fucking dense man?

I’m sure he’s gonna read this and the message is simple; you were banned because you don’t know how to read or follow rules. Don’t sell your shit on NWP. Before you try to pass on some misinformed bullshit, make sure you know who’s reading it. Go back to your Honda-Tech thread where nobody respects you and people just post up pictures of bitches and punk you when you post pictures of car in your own thread.

Shit is ridiculous man…it’s not that hard to follow simple instructions.

NWP was never about making money and it will continue to be that way. That’s the whole reason why the site has such a following and loyal members.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. NWP4LIFE is not dead, it’s just getting a makeover…it’ll be back in no time.

This is interesting…

The first Spocom event in Norcal happend this past weekend. I wasn’t there of course because I was in Las Vegas celebrating a birthday so I’ll hand it off to JSJbrothers to take care of the coverage for you guys. Looked like a good show considering it’s been a while since they’ve had a big indoor car show up there. Gonna cut it short today and just toss you guys the link. The Mayweather fight in Vegas really fucked up the traffic on the way home so I ended up being on the road for 5+ hours…. Check out JSJBROTHERS for Norcal Spocom Coverage

This was kinda cool…Haven’t seen this EP in awhile but I heard it was over at L*Con Race Fab getting a full cage and I guess it’s all done. Shout-out to Louie over that at L*Con. Anybody that wants some serious metal work done make sure to head over to Louie’s shop. The man knows what he’s doing…

Once upon a time this Civic was in Honda Tuning as you can see on the plaques in front of the car. It was a much different, more subtle look then…Now it’s yellow, flared out, and all pink inside…

Definitely different…

Speaking of different…
