SEMA 2012 Coverage…Part 4…

Finally, back with more updates….Sorry for the lack of updates the last four days but I’ve been trying to get a ton of work finished before the Thanksgiving holiday. I’ve been trying to develop content for a website for a project at work and it’s been taking up a bulk of my time. The site is set to go live a week from now so I’ve been scrambling to get things up and making sure everything is operational before the public sees it. I can’t go into much more detail about it because it’s work shit but all you need to know is that I will have updates coming the rest of the week, even leading through Thanksgiving and Black Friday…

Speaking of Black Friday, the official Chronicles storefront has been closed for over a month now because I just haven’t had time to process new orders but I’m thinking about re-opening it with a bunch of new merchandise that I’ve made or obtained recently. I know that there are a couple of you that want to get a hold of the new Chronicles hoodies but unfortunately, they were all sold-out at the Year.IV event and I haven’t restocked yet…

Anyways, today we’re gonna be taking a look at some more coverage from Day 2 of SEMA 2012. I know that we’re now on Part 4 and it doesn’t seem like it’s ever going to end but I actually only went to SEMA on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of that week so there’s only 3 days total of coverage. With that said, there is still a ton of good stuff on the way and, like the previous three parts, a ton of variety. I wasn’t really happy with how the photos came out from this particular portion of coverage but the content is good enough where I’m willing to keep it for the coverage just so I could show you guys some really good cars…

Here are the links to the previous three parts of SEMA 2012 coverage so far. You should have had plenty of time to look through it but if you did manage to miss it, check out the links below…

Enjoy…

The first build we are going to be taking a close look at today is the Lovefab Acura NSX Unlimited Class Pikes Peak car. It was built by Lovefab to compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb…

One thing you’ll notice right away is that this NSX is pretty hideous, haha. Is it fucking rad? YES. Attractive? NO….When I first saw it at SEMA 2012, I thought it was a life-sized model car made out of cardboard…

Stack cluster mounted to a metal sheet where the dashboard once stood with exposed wires everywhere… All business here, with no unnecessary aesthetic modficiations…

The awesome thing about this Pikes Peak challenger is that it weighs a total of only 2200lbs with over 6000lbs of available downforce. The motor makes over 1000 horsepower and the full carbon body features 4, yes, 4 wings. It also has extra suspension components to support the downforce and to supplement tuning for the low-speed cornering that is very important at Pikes Peak…

The Lovefab NSX is capable of a top speed of 175mph…

Can’t forget the massive, bright red HRE wheels either…

Here are some wider shots of the right-hand drive converted Acura RSX built be Crolls Customs…

Turbocharged K20…

Custom sheet metal trunk cover with fuel cell…

Stripped and caged interior with a mix of OEM interior pieces and custom sheet metal door panels…

A couple more of Chris Basselgia’s “Minty Fresh” Scion FR-S, which ended-up as the winner of the Scion Tuner Challenge…

Nice custom billet intake manifold on Basselgia’s FR-S Boxer engine…The motor is also supercharged via a Roots-type supercharger put together by IAG Performance…

19-inch Rotiform SNA wheels and Neo Motorsports big brake kit…

Clean custom center-exhaust set-up…

My favorite FR-S build at SEMA 2012, was undoubtedly the HKS supercharged FR-S from Evasive Motorsports…

Love the custom widebody kit and aero…

The custom aero includes a new hood, front splitter, front/rear fenders, carbon sideskirts, and carbon rear diffuser…

Additionally, the Evasive FR-S also has custom wing quill mounts mated to a Voltex Type 7 GT wing…

18-inch Volk TE37SL Black Edition wheels with matching SL spoke decal matched to the graphical livery on the body…

The entire car is wrapped in 3M ScotchPrint 1080-M230 matte grey aluminum film with yellow-tinted headlights…

The hood wasn’t popped but the motor is boosted via an HKS GT Supercharger…

Interesting rear fender treatment…

…as well as on the front…

Sparco steering wheel with HKS Kansai horn button, as soon through the custom Lexan window…

One of the coolest features about the Evasive FR-S is the air jack system. The hole in the bumper you see here is where air is fed into the system to instantly raise the car…

Here the system is being demonstrated with the line connected to the air valve on the rear bumper…

Nice engine bay set-up on this Mustang with ducts diverting air into the individual throttles…

Lamborghini Aventador at the HRE wheels booth…

Great touch with the two tone paint in the engine bay with the red pin striping…very subtle color addition to match the red on the 427 SOHC “Cammer” motor…

The Speedbyrd Engineering LSx-powered E30 BMW M3 that you probably remember from last year’s SEMA coverage…great car…

Super Street/Import Tuner/Modified magazines’ British Racing Green Rocket Bunny Scion FR-S on BBS E88 wheels…

Ringbrothers’ Ford Mustang “Producer” build…I don’t know if many of you follow domestic custom car builds but if you do, you have to check out the Ringsbrothers cars…

Scion FR-S at the Vortech booth on Rotiform BLQs, featuring their new supercharger system…

TapouT brand’s turbocharged Chevrolet Nova Wagon…

Loved how clean this Camaro was…

Subaru BR-Z at the Motul booth on Work Emotion CR-Kiwami…

Rene from R-Rydes’ Subaru BR-Z with INGS+1 aero and SSR Professor MS3s…

Time attack-prepped Subaru STi at the Garrett Turbo booth…

’65 Chevy Nova with modern GM LSx swap…

Zenki S14 240SX rocking a 6666 Customs/Tra Kyoto Rocket Bunny kit…

Tucked KA-turbo set-up with battleship grey engine bay… Note the -AN cooling lines and AEM pencil coils…

Rare R33 Nissan GT-R parked opposite of the Rocket Bunny S14…Been awhile since I’ve had a chance to see an R33 in person…

Walked over to the Wheel/Tire Hall to see what was going on over there and stopped to say what’s up to Julie Mai, who was there on behalf of Aeolus Tires…If you’ve never heard of them before, don’t worry, you’re not the only one…

While Takeshi and I were at the Aeolus booth waiting for DPK David and the two Ryans to catch-up, the Car Fax “Car Fox” walked-by and Julie stopped him for a photo…

After we met up, we headed over to the Nitto Tires booth where I discovered one of my favorite builds from SEMA 2012, this 1973 Mercedes coupe on VIP Modular VXS210s… While it may just look like a pristine 70’s Benz on modern wheels, the best part about it is what’s under the hood…

…a Toyota 2JZ-GTE engine swap from a JZA80 Supra…

The interior has also been customized and has what looks to be a 3rd generation Lexus GS dash wrapped in black suede with red stitching…

Such a unique build…probably fucking rips too… Anyways, that’s all for today, thanks for looking! Stay tuned for more!…
