Well, I’m currently spending most of my time packing up orders from the Chronicles merchandise store but I thought I’d let some of you in on what’s going on this weekend…

Tomorrow is the Formula D Tech Day event over at the Source Interlink offices in Irvine, CA. I went last year to hang out since I was in the area and had a pretty good time there. This year it seems like they’ve done a better job of promoting the event so the turn-out looks to be pretty good. Irvine is a nice area to cruise down to and the Source Interlink parking lot is pretty huge so it’ll be a good opportunity for you guys to get out and drive your cars for the day. The tech day is usually pretty interesting because you get a closer look at all the Formula D competitor cars before they hit the track in a couple of weeks. They have an inspection process where the cars have to meet a criteria to compete and the Source Interlink office is where it all goes down. The editors from some of the biggest tuner publications will also be there so who knows, maybe if you bring your car down there, it’ll get noticed and you might even get a magazine feature in our future. There are no guarantees of course but it doesn’t hurt to get out there and get seen. They call it a cover car search on the flyer but realistically, you’d better bring your “A” game if you think you’re gonna have a chance at landing a cover spread in Import Tuner magazine…

I’ll be out there to hang out since I’m in the Irvine area every weekend anyhow so it’d be cool to get some of the other car heads out there to chill…

In unrelated news, I was going to post up on here a day or so ago and tell everyone that I finally got some limited edition Chronicles hoodies made but they sold-out in less than two hours online so now I got nothing left…

If you guys attended the Year.IV event last year, then you probably got a hold of a Chronicles pull-over hoodie. For those that did, consider yourselves one of the lucky few because I doubt I’ll ever be making hoodies again. I mean, I personally love them cuz you can rock them anywhere, but after getting these new zip-up versions made, and realizing how much of a pain in the ass it is to ship them, I’ve decided to not print anymore hoodies at all. They are just to bulky and expensive to shop so I’d rather just stick to printing a new shirt design every year and running with that. Speaking of which, here is a preview of how the new shirts for 2013 are going to look…

I’ve been running with this “No Rival, No Equal” moniker for a long time now so I decided to finally do a shirt with it. Like last year’s, it’ll also feature some of The Chronicles’ biggest supporters over the years but I’ve included some updated artwork from some of my favorite car clubs, tuning shops, websites, etc. that have been consistent supporters of my work. They should be available in a couple of weeks so make sure to keep an eye out for them over at The Chronicles Storefront, http://www.NORIVALNOEQUAL.com. If they move anything like the hoodies did, you’d probably have to buy them right away before someone else jumps on the size that you want. I’ll have them available in Small-3XL but the more uncommon sizes like small and 3X are only going to come in very small quantities. I don’t want to be sitting on a bunch of small tees like I did awhile back…

I also have some other new gear up in the storefront like these diecut decals based on classic Japanese car club decals. I’ve always wanted to do a decal like this and since the Tactical Art guys wanted to put out a collabo decal together, it just made sense. I debuted these in the store on Monday and they’ve been doing very well. If you guys want quick, up-to-date news on the newest merchandise as soon as it hits the storefront, I suggest you follow me on Instagram @stickydiljoe. I usually throw up the latest news on there because it’s the fastest way to get information out when it happens. Otherwise you might miss out on cool stuff like the zip-up hoodies that are all gone now. Anyways, I gotta get back to work and finishing up my taxes and what not so I’ll see everyone Saturday.
