The Chronicles Vlog #16 documents one of the busiest months of my calendar year. It almost seems like every day in October is occupied with work or some type of event to go to. I take you on a journey throughout my month leading up to Year 7, which is The Chronicles/Stickydiljoe.com’s 7-year anniversary event. The annual SEMA Show is fast approaching but I usually like to have my anniversary event the weekend prior. Many of my friends from Japan are in town so they can attend both events and because SEMA is such a big deal, there are usually a ton of new cars being unveiled for the show. Since Year 7 is a few days before SEMA set-up, a lot of the enthusiasts like to debut their cars at my event first before heading to Las Vegas, NV. Prepping for my own event is very time-consuming since I like to do everything myself but the month just seems to fly by because there is so much going on in October…
In Part 1, we visit the final Formula D event of the season in Irwindale, CA. This is the one that closes out the year for FD and pro-drifters are jockeying for the podium. Many of you who have seen my Vlogs will notice that I rarely cover the actual drifting that goes on at FD events. I support some of the drivers and the event itself, but I honestly find little interest in the actual competition. I just go to hang out with friends and look at cars. For this particular event, I was hired on as a photographer to shoot model Amy Fay throughout the event. A marketing company that contracts me for gigs needed some images of Amy for their client and I was totally down. I was already at the event so why not get paid for it, right? That and I’d already worked with Amy before numerous times so it would be an easy job. The only problem was the heat that day but we shot a little bit more towards the end of the day and everything worked out in the end. I explain more of how my month plays out in the introduction of this episode, but you guys will get to see how everything goes on as it happens pretty much, because I’m editing the video pieces as I capture them so it feels like you’re with me. Obviously all the editing takes time in-between everything else that is happening so you guys will only be a couple days behind from what actually happens throughout my October. Make sure to come back because this is one of those multi-part episodes with tons of content.
*I am not a videographer and this wasn’t meant to be a visual masterpiece of any sort. I am merely capturing bits and pieces of my life for you guys to see.
