All that night cruising and spirited driving was fun and all, but it was time for us to head over to the Kanto region of Japan, more specifically, Tokyo. Our original plan was to attend both the Osaka Auto Messe event and the Attack race event at Tsukuba during our 12-day stay there. In-between, we’d have some free time to do just about anything so we decided to make a short trip out to Sendai to visit an old friend. I’ve known Takeshi Kobayashi for over a decade now and as many times as I’ve been to Japan, I’ve never had the time to make it over to his hometown. Takeshi is the ultimate USDM aficionado and not only owns an imported Acura Integra Type R, but also has a house built from the ground-up with blueprints from the USA! I’ve always wanted to see it in-person and just to visit him being he’s always been such a great supporter, and this trip provided that opportunity. While we were in Sendai, we also paid a visit to S.T.A., an old tuning shop that has worked closely with Spoon Sports in the past to develop some of their race cars.
