Back when I decided to buy this thing, I had nothing. No job, no direction, no money. I had sold my Accord and I just thought I really wanted to get a Q45. It was a dream car oddly enough. I didn’t even have any resources to build one and all of a sudden I just had this big ass car that came with wheels and suspension. I had goals for it. Some day I’d get a Mode Parfume kit, respray it Candy Red, it’d be different. The Chronicles wasn’t even a concept that came into my brain yet…
17 years later, 3 different body kits, 5 sets of wheels, 2 magazine features and a whole lot of sitting around, pancaked to the floor, it’s time to part ways. Hopefully the new owner can bring it back to its former glory and give it the attention I just didn’t have the last few years. It was so much fun messing with this 1997 Infiniti Q45 (Yes, it’s not an LS400, surprise). I made so many memories I’ll hold onto forever with this car just cruising around with my friends and pulling up around a bunch of Hondas, sticking out like a sore thumb. The times I’ll cherish the most were the ones where I was just cruising by myself without a care in the world. This was the ultimate “get in, blast music, and forget about all your worries” type of car…
I just don’t have time or space for it anymore and I don’t want to just let it sit and deteriorate. The original goal was to send it off to Japan so we can find a place to display it overseas but someone gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse…
Though the outside needs some time and love, I think most would be shocked to hear that in the 17 years that I’ve owned it, I literally only put 23k miles on it, lol. I’ve only ever filled-up the gas tank to full just once in all that time. I cherished this car but always knew some day that it would simply be a great memory. I accomplished basically everything I wanted with this, far exceeding my aspirations for this Y33 when I first acquired it.
Hope to see you around, friend. Please take care of your new owner…
