…and just like that, they’re gone…
I’ve never posted these photos anywhere before. These were some quick photos that I shot back in February when we were tasked with bringing MC Tyson’s EG6 to Osaka Auto Messe. The car needed some repairs that were getting done over at Exceed before the show and the car was finished-up in time to be displayed. For those not aware, MC Tyson is actually a really popular musician over in Japan and has even crossed-over to the U.S. market collaborating with French Montana. He’s a really close friend of Ryuji from NO GOOD so for the 40th Anniversary of the team, they unveiled this EG6 Civic for Tyson at the celebration event…

The build itself is very simple. Like most traditional Kansai-area Civics, it has a custom livery, roll cage, gutted interior, N/A B-series, some meaty tires, and straight-piped exhaust. This one is a little more modernized with the addition of the Exceed front lip and wing. It has a custom livery depicting MC Tyson and everything so you wouldn’t confuse it for any other Civic…

On this particular afternoon we were just hanging out at the shop and Chuy was also in town for both OAM and Attack Tsukuba. He’s always down to drive anything so we had him hop in the EG to take it over to the venue of the show. We stopped for gas which always makes for good photos, especially in Japan. The car had some minor issues but was still plenty drivable and Chuy had fun ripping it around…

It has to be a pretty unusual sight to see a NO GOOD RACING Civic during the day time, let alone with a Mexican guy driving it in Osaka. Normal people on the highway were probably very confused. They’re not really big on being too flashy and standing out amongst the crowd here so people probably thought that we were (no pun intended) up to no good…

There aren’t too many photos I have of this thing so I thought it was important to post and archive because this EG6 is actually gone now. Yeah, you read that correctly, this car is long gone. The two quarter windows are sitting on the floor at Exceed to be repurposed on another EG. About a month after these photos were taken the car was wrecked in the mountains…

Don’t worry, everyone was fine. MC Tyson wasn’t even driving the car so he was far away from the car when it crashed. The person driving that night was unharmed. That’s why it’s important to document everything though because in an instant, everything could change. Life is fleeting and things happen suddenly. Over the course of documenting Osaka car culture all these years, I’ve lost count of how many Civics have been wrecked or repainted in Kansai. That’s just how it is. This one only lasted like 6 months maybe? Good thing I have these photos for memories…
If you want to see more of it, there’s some good rollers and footage of it from the CHRNCLS Vlogs from earlier this year…
Thanks for looking…
