I recently visited a shop that built all the old J’s Racing democars and while I was looking around I spotted this hood:

This is the original hood from the J’s Racing EK Civic race car from back in the day. Source material on the car is hard to find these days but luckily someone sent me some pics…

A majority of the graphics on the hood remained unchanged, with the exception of the hood vents which were probably added towards the ends of the car’s run. I asked the owner of the shop if he knew what happened to the Civic because I’ve never seen it aside from a few photos. He told me that J’s Racing eventually sold the car to a customer but before it was sold, the CIvic was K-swapped and the car repainted entirely in green. A bummer that they didn’t keep it or sell it as-is since it was such a recognizable car…

Not too far away, also hanging on the wall was this:

This is actually the front bumper from the original J’s Racing S2000. I’m pretty sure that this S2000 would later become the crazy widebody one that was in Hot Version videos and what not. I just recently saw that S2000 too at the Rays Fan Meeting event. Like the EK hood, J’s also didn’t want this back and asked for it to be discarded. Some day I’d like to take possession of these two pieces if the shop ever decided that it was time for them to throw it out…

Just wanted to show you guys some of the cool stuff I see when I visit various places in Japan. That’s all for today, thanks for looking!…
