A Weekend In New York City With The Honda Collective…

A Weekend In New York City With The Honda Collective…

I was recently invited by some fellow enthusiasts out to New York City to attend the second-annual “Honda Collective” event hosted by Prime and the boys from NAR. After I got back from my trip to Wekfest East, they contacted me to see if I wanted to be a special guest at their event. It would consist of a meet-up in New Jersey, followed by a cruise over to New York where we’d make a stop in Harlem for photos before eventually cruising through Times Square. The whole thing sounded pretty elaborate with a lot of thought put behind it so it was an honor to be invited! The Honda community out East is as strong as it has ever been so it was important for me to show them som e support as many of them have also put their faith in The Chronicles over the years. This was a blast! Huge thanks to everyone there for being so great.

NEW Wheels For Our GR86 Are FINALLY Here!! Plus More Shop Updates!!…

After a few much-needed weeks off, we are finally back with a new episode!! The Rays wheels that we ordered back in February before we even got our GR86 have finally arrived in the USA and it’s time to mount them on the car! The loaner TE37 wheels were a great look and we will definitely miss it a lot but we can’t wait to see if our actual wheels on the GR. We ordered them sight-unseen so who knows if it’ll even actually look good. Will it? You let us know in the comments! It’s been a minute but Der is finally back at work on his Civic as well so we throw in some quick updates on it!

Does The East Bring The Heat For Wekfest?…

Does The East Bring The Heat For Wekfest?…

It just feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day lately with all these Wekfest events happening. First it was San Jose, followed quickly after by Los Angeles, and not even two weeks later, it was off to the east coast for our first event back in New Jersey. With all that has happened over the past two years, we were excited to be back finally with renewed energy and fervor for the East. I myself did not know what to expect with this stop on the tour. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes it leaves a little more to be desired, you just never know. What myself and the Wekfest crew were greeted with this time around was a completely different experience. It seems the time away has drastically improved what this region had to offer. The only problem was…would I have enough time to capture it all??? Also, at the end, I take some time to address the very obvious ‘elephant in the room’….

California Dreamin’ At Wekfest San Jose…

California Dreamin’ At Wekfest San Jose…

With the Battlecraft x Exceed GR86 together now, it was time for me to make the 6-hour drive up to San Jose for the annual Wekfest super show! Not only was I shooting and working the event this year, I also had to make sure to get the GR86 there for display. Our goal was to have this car showcased at the two biggest Wekfest events of the year so it was important for me to get the car to San Jose. The drive itself wasn’t so bad, but it definitely made me remember why I stopped driving so far for shows, lol. Being that it was such a hectic event, I didn’t have too much time to film during the show but I did manage to capture some of what happened behind-the-scenes. After I got back to Los Angeles after the show, I found out that there was another event to attend mid-week so I cleaned-up the GR once again and cruised over!

The 4-Day Transformation Of Our GR86 Build…

The 4-Day Transformation Of Our GR86 Build…

I swear, it doesn’t even look like the same car anymore! Just four months ago, we received delivery on our brand new Toyota GR86. We had plans for it but there was a lot of waiting while we collected parts from Japan. It seemed like the project was never going to get started and then boom! All the parts just started coming in all at once! The goal was to get this car to both Wekfest events in California this year so we could showcase the brand new Exceed Japan aero kit for the GR86. As things usually go, the date came out of nowhere and we found ourselves with a short deadline…Just around 4-5 days in fact! So we got right to work and literally had this thing done just in time!

Back Home But On The Road Again For Wekfest Seattle!…

Back Home But On The Road Again For Wekfest Seattle!…

The Japan content was great and it was amazing to be out there for a whole month, but I have to remind myself that I have a life here at home in California. After returning home, I received some unsettling news that our brand new Voltex wing for our GR86 might have been damaged by UPS!! So Kristian and I finally open-up the box to see what was happening inside. A few weeks after, I was right back on a plane once again as I headed to Seattle for the first major Wekfest event in the U.S. It was July 4th weekend so we made the most of it too, enjoying to sights and of course, the food! Unfortunately, I was so busy that I didn’t film nearly as much as I would have liked. Instead, I spent most of my time covering the cars that I liked the most from this year’s Seattle Wekfest show.

The Finale Of My Adventures In Japan…

The Finale Of My Adventures In Japan…

A month and a day in Japan. It’s time for me to go home to Los Angeles. It’s been fun but the summer is coming and Japan is not the place to be during those months. We pick up this final episode right where the last one left-off at the Chan-Oka Honda Meet. There were still many cars to go over and I provide some insight on how I feel about West Coast Honda style/culture being translated to Japanese Honda builds. After the meet, I head to the parking lot to give you guys a look at one of the coolest Mini builds ever before heading over to “Built By Legends”. There, we get an in-depth look at their ongoing Spoon Sports concept EG6 Civic build and try to understand what the whole purpose of the project is for…

Abandoned Hondas At Real Company And Collecting Rare Parts In Japan…

Abandoned Hondas At Real Company And Collecting Rare Parts In Japan…

As my adventures in the Kansai region of Japan near an end, I find myself in the countryside of the Nara prefecture where I visit Real Company. This Honda modification shop is about as traditional as it gets, playing host to both Civic race cars as well as many more that have been left behind to be reclaimed by nature. It’s always interesting to see what types of gems Yasu and I stumble upon. There are a surprising amount of cars that have been out of service for years, slowly being overtaken by the elements. After that, I take you back to Exceed where I show you some pretty rare parts that both Yasu, myself, and my good friend Cody have been collecting to send back to the good ol’ USA. I came to Japan for many reasons and one of them was to secure products to send home for business as well as personal use.
