Wekfest Seattle 2017 Coverage… Part 4 of 4…

Well, this is it, the last portion of the Wekfest Seattle 2017 Coverage, featuring some of my personal favorite photos from the event that weekend. One of the things I was really excited about when I first saw what Centurylink Field looked like on the outside was how great the […]

Wekfest Seattle 2017 Coverage… Part 3…

I’m truly appreciative of all the positive feedback so far from this year’s first ever Wekfest Seattle event. It was an event that I really pushed for and I was so stoked about it when it was finally announced. Glad to say that everything worked out perfectly and the show […]

Wekfest Seattle 2017 Coverage… Part 2…

About a month before heading up to Seattle for their first ever Wekfest event, I decided that I wanted to do a display booth for The Chronicles. I had never done a booth outside of California, other than Japan of course, and never really planned to. It was a bit […]

It’s crazy to think that Wekfest San Jose is already this coming weekend. This year has just flown by… One minute it seemed like I was perpetually on a plane back and forth to Japan and now we’re knee-deep in the West Coast show season. As explained in Part 1, […]

Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 Coverage…Part 3 of 3…

Believe it or not, I’m walking on air, I never thought I could be so free-hee-heee…Haha, just kidding. I am however, back in Osaka, Japan as I type this. It is about 11:31 PM here and I am typing this up while sitting on an air mattress inside my boy Yasu’s house. It is just days before the annual Osaka Auto Messe event and I can honestly say that I am pretty excited to finally experience it for the first time. It is a show that I’ve always been curious about checking out in person and one of those automotive events that has long been on my automotive bucket list. This year’s Osaka Auto Messe is a particular notable one for me not only because it is my first, but also because I have actual presence there as a brand and namesake. Masao Hirano from Mode Parfume came up with this wonderful idea to have a joint booth set-up between himself, Autofashion USA, and me (The Chronicles). I would not in my wildest dreams have ever thought that I would actually be so well-represented at an event of this magnitude and it is a real honor for them to share their space with me. It is just another one of those crazy things that just somehow happened and I just have to remind myself to sit back and actually enjoy as well as appreciate it because I’ve worked hard over the years to be presented with these incredible opportunities. Osaka presents an alternative look at Japanese car culture and I am thoroughly enthused by the idea of seeing how it compares to a Tokyo Auto Salon event…

Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 Coverage…Part 2…

I’m literally typing this up while sitting at a kitchen counter in our AirBnB house in Hawaii while I’m here for the 2017 Wekfest Hawaii event. I wish I would have had the time to get this posted up earlier last week but I’ve just been super busy running around. Crazy because I have to fly out to Osaka right after my stay in Hawaii is over on Tuesday. There isn’t a whole lot of time for me to chat so let’s just jump right back into the 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon coverage. Enjoy!…

Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 Coverage…Part 1…

No matter how many years I go, I never get tired of going to Tokyo Auto Salon. I’ve had friends go with me for multiple years and they just get over the whole idea of attending. Maybe it is just too much for them to deal with the crazy crowd and hoards of old perverts running back and forth. I don’t know. The thing I often hear the most is that it is “always the same shit every year” but that’s honestly more SEMA than it is Tokyo Auto Salon. I like TAS because it gives the world a good glimpse of what is to come in Japan. So many new builds debut at Tokyo Auto Salon and you really get to see some amazingly well-done builds by tuning shops throughout Japan. It is everything I could ask for. I mean, these are cars that I would normally only see in magazines and Japanese bookstores are starting to get more and more rare out here in California. Now with the Japanese getting more involved with social media, you really have a good idea what cars are going to debut and as such, you don’t have to waste so much time looking hoping that there will be new stuff at the show. These companies know how to use social media and they literally tell you what is coming and where to look for them at the show. It’s great…
