I’m truly appreciative of all the positive feedback so far from this year’s first ever Wekfest Seattle event. It was an event that I really pushed for and I was so stoked about it when it was finally announced. Glad to say that everything worked out perfectly and the show lived-up to the hype. I typed up like a 5000 word piece on the show in Part 2 so make sure you guys go and read that if you haven’t already. I know it may be a little long but I think it is an important and informative read. I would have posted Part 3 yesterday but I was honestly tied-up with putting our new Podcast series together. Learning how to edit audio without any prior knowledge of it is a bit challenging but I think I’m happy with the finished product overall. I’m going to post it up in the next few days so if you guys are into podcasts, I think it’ll be a good listen. I find myself listening to podcasts all the time now because there is so much garbage on TV that you almost are better off just putting some headphones on and listening to people talk about shit you care to hear about instead of just background noise from a terrible TV show. Even if you’re on long drives I think podcasts really help. It makes the time just fly by. Anyways, check the photos below for more coverage of the Wekfest Seattle 2017 event. There are some pretty great builds in this post with included engine bay shots of some of the better cars in attendance that day. Enjoy and come back for Part 4, featuring roll-out shots set against the beautiful city of Seattle, Washington…
Richard Ly’s Acura NSX running I’s Impact aero from Japan sitting on staggered Volk Racing CE28N…
Jerwin’s NA2 NSX running rarely-seen Spoon Sports seats and BBS LM F1 Edition wheels with widened front Downforce fenders to squeeze a meaty tire on them…
Ben from LEVEL ONE also had a black NSX, this one running some Downforce aero add-ons and a set of Volk Racing TE37SL…
Mel Diego’s Mugen EP3 looking great on bronze MF10 wheels…
Bill Master achieved the honor of being the first EP3 to ever win the “Honda of the Festival” award for his fantastic turbocharged Civic…
Here’s a look under the hood of Bill’s Civic with the big Borg Warner turbine mounted to the K-series engine via a Full Race manifold…
Chris Civic was one of the more interesting builds of the show, making the trip down from Canada, with a First Molding Flugel Plate, a set of Chargespeed wide fenders up front and shaved body moldings…
There’s no hiding the 3.2L Honda J32 V6 engine swap and massive Vortech supercharger, both which sit high above the fenders. Chris’ hood is actually almost cut-out completely other than the basic frame that goes around the engine and blower unit…
One of a total of three cars that Huy Hoang brought to the show that day was his K-supercharged Civic with First Molding Flugel Plate, bronze CE28 wheels, AP Racing brakes, and more…
Under the hood of Huy’s Civic you’ll find a cleaned-up engine bay with a K-swap, Jackson Racing supercharger and as described in Part 2, plenty of gold/black Jiffy-Tite fittings…
Right next to Huy’s Civic was Huy’s other car, his “beater”, which is another DC5 RSX wearing Mugen aero and Volk Racing wheels. I believe he just acquired a supercharger for this car too. I guess once your show car is turbocharged and your Civic is supercharged, a naturally-aspirated K just seems too slow…
Yoshi Shindo’s Infiniti G37S on polished Volk CEs…
Even his G37S had some Jiffy-Tite fittings under the hood, hooked-up with -AN lines to an ARC oil breather…
Jerimiah Styles’ beautifully assembled DB2 Integra GS-R with JDP front lip, Mugen sides, Mugen wing, and Mugen M7 wheels…
Mugen Formula Head Cover is the centerpiece of his engine bay, along with an M’s carbon intake, Mugen header, and Koyo full-size radiator…
Jackie Law’s street/track/show Voltex S2000 on custom gray Volk TE37 wheels. Catch the AP Racing brakes peeking out right behind the concave spokes of the TEs…
Turbocharged F22C engine under the hood of Law’s S2000, utilizing a Sheepey-Built manifold and Precision turbine…
Huy’s meticulously-built metal widebody Mugen DC5 RSX is undoubtedly one of the best Honda builds in existence in 2017, and one of those cars that even the most dedicated of Honda enthusiasts have been pining to see in person now for many years. Check-out his Super Street feature HERE…
Huy uses a Mugen umbrella to hold his Mugen hood up so you can see his stroked 2.2L K20Z1 making just around 400whp on low boost setting utilizing a Borg Warner S300SX turbocharger. Jiffy-Tite fittings and -AN hoses plumb the motor while Adel Wiggins clamps hold everything together…
Rare M-Sport front bumper and side skirts on Austin’s FD RX-7. Rear I believe is TRA Kyoto…
Brandon’s Nismo S15 Silvia from Vancouver B.C. Sometimes all you need in life is OEM optional aero, Ganador Super Mirrors, and concave TEs…
Charles Wong’s R34 Skyline GTR V-Spec is a bucket list car for many import aficionados all over…
Wild widebody S30Z with the carbon hood cut to reveal the trumpets from the carburetors of the L-series engine…
Nice to see James Craig’s Kouki S14 again. He and his 240SX were one of the first PNW natives I encountered when I first started going up to Seattle a couple years back…
Datsun 510 wagon from Garage AUTOHERO on Panasport wheels..
Spoon Sports-theme with a more aggressive twist, featuring a paint-matched First Molding lip, First Molding hood, and custom rear diffuser with a big carbon GT wing in the rear…
The set-up under the hood is also Spoon Sports-themed with a yellow valve cover, kevlar wire cover, intake arm, and reservoir covers. Nice touch with the yellow Optima battery to match…
Marcus from Helltoe Automotive’s 1st generation Honda CR-X build running his own line of carbon fiber front fenders and damper system…
In the cramped engine bay is a dual-cam ZC engine which doesn’t seem like much until you take a closer look and realize that it’s actually turbocharged. The front hood cowl covers the entire exhaust manifold area so you can’t really see the manifold and turbo. Marcus has even taken the time to plumb the system back into a factory airbox. The whole set-up still needs to be plumbed and the wiring still needs to be completed but it definitely is a one-of-a-kind CR-X…
Danny’s Honda S2000 Club Racer on custom black Work RSZ-R that I showed you guys some photos of in Part 2 of the coverage. Here it is parked and all cleaned-up for the show…
Nice, simple, execution in the engine bay with just the Garrett turbo set-up and a mild-tuck…
I didn’t get a chance to grab some exterior shots of Rob’s crazy Evolution which ultimately won Best of Show this year, but the car is actually just outside my office right now as Rob is working on the car for Spocom so I’ll be sure to try to grab some more photos of it this week…
Peter Terry’s super-rare Toyota ST185 Celica GT-FOUR RC, one of only 5000 homologation specials ever produced, featuring a water-to-air intercooler, GT-FOUR RC hood, front bumper, and white Compomotive wheels…
Bagged Subaru WRX STI on Work Seeker DX wheels laid-out on a custom metal display…
Nathan’s RE Amemiya FD RX-7 on Volk TE37SL…
NSX-R styled NA2 with Downforce front lip, Stacy side skirts, along with an APR carbon splitter and Volk Racing wheels…
Victor Nguyen’s supercharged S2000 looks clean enough to be a show car but is actually more of a weekend track vehicle equipped with a catalog of Voltex aero…
He had one of the most unique displays of the day with his entire S2000 modification list etched into this sheet of wood cut to the shape of the state of Washington. How cool…
Liberty Walk Performance R35 GTR from Canada, equipped with Air Lift suspension…
The last time I saw this Rocket Bunny R35 GTR was at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. I love the color scheme and the diffferent combination of blues contrasting against the goldish orange faces of the HRE wheels…
Full Varis widebody Subaru WRX STI with livery and all, roped-off, on display at the Mackin Industries booth…
This NSX looks like something straight out of a Gran Turismo car selection screen. Very NSX-R-esque as I’m sure the owner intended…
Bagged BMW M4 GTS coupe on Rotiform wheels color-matched to the front lip and roll bar…
Closing things out today in Part 3 is this RPS13 running OEM JDM Type-X aero, Ganador mirrors, and 3-piece Work Meister S1…
Part 4 of 4 will feature roll-out photos that I captured after the show ended. It’s probably my favorite photos from the entire set so stay tuned and come back to see them! Thanks for looking…
