I wasn’t actually in Miami for HIN of course so I grabbed these photos from Urbanracer.com. If I had the money to go to Miami and attend a HIN show, the pictures would have turned out horrible. They would have been dark, foggy, and blurry. That’s just my style of photography. Anyways, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and this is my present to you. Pics of HIN that I found while I was bored earlier tonight. Just think of it as the bundle of socks you always wanted instead of the PS3 you were asking for. I assure you I would have updated with some content yesterday but despite my boyish good looks, I am not superhuman and have to celebrate Christmas with my family like the rest of the world. Besides the internet at my parents house wasn’t working so I couldn’t even sneak away to look at dirty pictures while everyone was opening presents…..
…The first car I spotted was this EK. This hatch is fuckin’ BAD. Oh my damn, I usually see this car pop up on HT in the low offset thread but I’ve never ever had a chance to see the rest of it. I thought it was just a regular hatch with CCW’s on it but then I saw this…
…No stock d-series laying underneath this hood….bay is all cleaned up and i love the polished and purple combination. Would be even crazier if he shaved that valve cover and had it powder-coated the same purple as the rest of the parts….
…Love the stance and the wheels of course. Interior is cleannnn….I love Bride-themed interiors. Reminds me of my old car….I actually just recently completed a feature for another Florida-based Honda and I was just thinking about how underrated Florida is when it comes to Hondas. Definitely a sleeper state. Kinda along the lines of Washington but with less gloomy rain and shit…
…Here’s a DC5 from Team Emotion. I see this car pop up every now and then and of course the color is very nice. I don’t know if the owner can actually drive the car anywhere with how bright it is but it definitely makes for a beautiful display vehicle…
…He’s got a real nice theme going. Even though everything is very bright and sharp on the eyes, it all flows together nicely. Great execution…
I saw this Fit and was like “oh cool, a VIP-themed Fit”. Well I didn’t actually say that as much as I thought it, but man, this thing would look really good dumped on air….Then I clicked on the next picture and saw the front…
…which looks like this…but then I saw this…
…Uh, what just happened here. It’s VIP-themed on the outside and then there’s like trunk brace, and then a wooden table of some sort, and a nitrous bottle. And then the headrests in the back are missing. Am I nitpicking? Everything looked good on the outside and then I see the trunk and it just throws everything off. I mean I guess the bottle would have been fine if the trunk was set-up correctly instead of laying it on top of a board….Kinda reminds me of that one Scion xA that Jade crew did for the challenge a couple years back. It was “VIP-style” but then it had like a green rollcage or some shit on it, and a kitsuna, and then some Junction Produce Scaras on it…..oh and it was gutted. Just didn’t flow at all. I asked them about it on the Jspek website and one of the guys went on about how they wanted to show every tuning option possible for that car….which I understand, but still, it helps to have a central theme right? Instead of getting every expensive thing possible and throwing it on the car…
…Speaking of which…What happened here? I love Equips but not these particular ones with that car. It doesn’t look very good. When I imagine Spoon fenders and rear over-fenders, I just don’t picture these wheels on there. I understand the concept of being different, but bad wheel choice is bad wheel choice. You may bring up the argument that they would look better in a lower offset but still, they just don’t belong on an S2000…..
Even at different angles….ehhhhh…Props for trying it though. I guess we woulda never known what it would have looked like…
Another thing I noticed on the east coast is that they’re still using huge ass wheels. I didn’t even know they made fuckin’ 22-inch Work Emotions…shit is crazy looking. The concave Advans on the DC5 don’t look too bad but still those things are gigantic. Even with the other non-honda’s, their wheels are huge. There’s an Evo on there with 24-inch Takata green TE37’s … Look at the 2JZ-powered S2000 I posted the day before…you see those titanium-finish Volks on there? Yup, 28×12 +15 offset…..335/60-R28 tires….
