Well, it’s that time of year again… The summer heat is in full effect and every year around this time, well for the past 3 years anyway, Super Street magazine presents its FF Battle event. Now in its fourth year, the staff at SS has decided to take the event into a completely new direction by moving it to Willow Springs International Raceway. This track provides more of a familiar feel to guys who have tracked their Hondas before and the track itself is totally unlike the Autoclub Speedway, where previous FF Battles have taken place. Super Street tossed around the idea of opening up to a larger market of people by making the competition available to all makes and models but there just weren’t enough people with non-Hondas to make much of a difference at all… I’ve been to all three previous FF Battle events and I’ve always had a blast. It’s cool to see cars that you would never expect to hit the track…
The event starts early Saturday at Willow Springs so if you plan to come spectate, please make sure to arrive early. I have a link to the Facebook page of the event so read up more about it over there. If you are coming, just bring $10 per person because the fee is something that Willow Springs charges upon entry into the track. Even if you aren’t participating and just showing up to watch, be prepared to pay the fee. It’s just $10 anyways so it’s no big deal. I’m in Hawaii right now but I will be back just in time for the event. Friday is the dyno day portion of the event where they dyno to see who makes the most power but that is usually a private event. If you want to check out FF Battle, head directly to Willow Springs on SATURDAY 6/23. The event itself will begin around 8am I believe so get out there early!
Below is the final list of competitors. A couple of them are familiar names but it’ll be fun to watch all of these guys run. I wish everyone the best this weekend and I will see you then. Hope many of you come out to support your fellow car enthusiasts as well. As a bonus, the Import Tuner FR Challenge will be going on that day as well so for the low price of ten bucks, you get to check out both events. It’ll be hot out there but it will definitely be fun…
