**Before anyone accidentally gets caught staring at photos of scantily clad women at work, I want to let everyone know that this post may be somewhat NOT WORK SAFE** Read at your own discretion and don’t bitch if you get caught slippin’…
Here we go now with the second and concluding portion of our Hot Import Nights LA coverage… This was supposed to go up yesterday but I ended up having a bit of work to finish up and then my entire Tuesday was spent on the road. Ryan and I made a trip down to San Diego to check on his ITR build which is over at ASC Speed Metal. Dana and crew told us to head down there to check out the progress and we were anxious to see how much was down. There is still a chance that you might see it at Nisei in its current incomplete state but it really depends on how far along the fab work is a couple weeks from now. Anyways, today is the second half of the photos from my day (or night) over at the LA Convention Center for HIN. At this point of the event, the gates were about to open to the public so I did a made scramble to get whatever photos I could of the cars that I missed. A lot of the lighting displays were already set-up and turned on so you guys can see how the show looked. It’s still a little bit brighter than it was when the actual show started but you get the idea. After I finished getting photos of the cars, I just hung out for the rest of the day with Tony from It’s JDM Yo!! and Brian from Auto Concept. He didn’t have a model at his booth so we kind of just used it as a spot to chill in. Occasionally, I would walk around with Tony or just walked around by myself. It was pretty impossible to get good shots of the cars with a tripod with everyone walking around so I just spent the time taking photos of models. I’m happy with everything that I got and I feel like it was a good summary of the entire event. Nothing crazy happened or anything so don’t expect any wild stories, haha… Thanks to Tony for helping me get into the show…
Now let’s get to the shots…
The first couple shots will consist mostly of the builds from TWCompetition. They probably had one of the most elaborate set-ups of any car crew there and I’m sure many of them took awards home at the end of the night…
Viet Nguyen’s 2005 Infiniti FX35 is a staple here in the Socal show scene and anytime it makes an appearance, it takes home an award. Very well-rounded and one of those builds that you could consider “untouchable” because it consistently wins time after time…
Not only is it a great looking car, this FX35 is also twin-turbocharged and makes a little over 500hp…
Also has a full custom audio set-up and custom widebody created by Auto Explosion…
CLS55 AMG from TWC…
Dallas Tung’s turbo APR widebody Infiniti G35 on HREs…
The second half of the TWCompetition line-up…
I walked by Chris Dunbar’s STi earlier but he was still in the process of setting up his display so I didn’t get to take some more detailed shots. As the show was starting to come down to the last 30 minutes or so before the doors opened to the public, I made my way back to the car to try to get some extra photos…
Dunbar’s custom shaved engine bay with custom wheel tubs and a rare Cosworth-built crate motor…
The interior featuring a custom dashboard, Bride seats, and KEY!S steering wheel… Also here you can get a glimpse of the cage…
Arai Motorsports carbon fiber door panels…
A shot of the metal work in the rear half of Dunbar’s interior… Note the remote reservoir mounted to the cage… Thanks to Chris for allowing me to open all his doors and basically do whatever I want, haha…
Randy Riggs’ widebody G35 from R-Rydes…
Matt Tom’s bedazzled Lexus CT200h from R-Rydes…
John Prosk’s Dodge Charger, also representing R-Rydes…
Jamie Liu’s Mercedes “SL666” that you probably remember more when it was in it’s red phase. It was recently vinyl-wrapped by Impressive Wrap and looks just as menacing as ever…
Abe Cruz’s EK on Volk CE28s…
Abe’s homies’ red EG Civic on Work Equip wheels…looking much like the Phaze2 EG back in 2008…
Brown EF hatchback with JDM SiR front end and Enkei RPF1…
Legit JDM Transtop del Sol with replica Mugen front bumper and XXR-made CCW Classic replica wheels…
Clean E-AT Civic hatchback from Street Lights on Mugen NR Mirror Face wheels…
Dara Sao aka Madara’s ASM-equipped Honda S2000 on Prodrive wheels that was featured recently in Honda Tuning magazine….
Top Secret GT-300 inspired Toyota Supra from Auto Concept Elite/High End…
Auto Concept Elite’s custom widebody R35 GTR…
Import Fashion’s magenta G35 on gold-faced Leon Hardiritt Ordens…
One more shot of Jay Borcena’s TL after the show started…
…as well as another of Mike Johnson’s TL…
At this point, the flood of people started to come in so I stopped shooting cars altogether. I didn’t want to deal with people walking into my shot since I was shooting with a tripod so I just concentrated on taking photos of the models that were at HIN…
Michelle Yee, Nikita Esco, and some blurry woman on the HIN stage…
Marissa Hiroko…
Every 30 mins or so they had these girls with these white wigs go-go dancing on the stage…
Julie Mai, Nikita Esco, and Krys Angeles…
Go-go Julie Mai…
Nikita Esco once again…
Tony from It’s JDM Yo!! doing his perverted thing that he does where he takes pictures of girls’ boobs for his “Guess The Boob Game”….oh man, this is so fucked up but this girl reminds me of the Lion from the original Wizard of Oz movie, haha…so bad. Apologies in advance whoever you are, thanks for playing Tony’s titty guessing game!…
As you can see, I’ve consolidated some photos to help with the loading times… I missed this particular model’s name…
Elissa Alva who is usually associated with the Wekfest series made an appearance at Hot Import Nights…
Yeonji Cho…
Ela Pasion, who also participated in Tony’s game… as you can see from his screen on his iPhone, there was no indication that he was going to capture any part of her other than “the goods”…
Raquel Estrella representing Savini wheels…
Remember this shot from Spocom of last year featuring Titla McBoob and this creepy old man doing the jerk?…
…well I spotted him yet again hovering around the import models with his creepy tucked in skull shirt doing the one in the pink, one in the stink…haha…
Godspeed Project model…
Genevieve Chanelle…
Ms. Jeri Lee…
Occasionally, there would be some pretty random things going on by Tony’s booth…this was captured right across from the booth over at the Street Lights section…. Not sure exactly what was going on but I’m happy I was able to capture it on camera… as I said on Instagram “good form”…haha…
Closing it out with a couple more shots of Julie Mai… Photos have been compressed to fit the site of course but if you want to see a slightly larger version, click here (1200×900)
That’s pretty much a wrap on the 2012 HIN LA coverage…hope you guys enjoyed it… Thanks for looking…
Dropping some major coin on those cars! Beautiful.
