Autocon 2012 Coverage…Part 2…

Back now with part 2 of the Autocon 2012 coverage… I’m happy to see that everyone is enjoying the coverage even though there seems to be an overabundance of coverage coming out all at the same time from various sites…

For those of you wondering or who heard rumors, there was indeed in accident at Autocon 2012. A pretty crazy one too in fact, I don’t know all the details on it but when I originally heard them announce it on stage, I didn’t really think anything of it. It just sounded like a minor fender bender in the parking lot but after going home and seeing some photos of it, it was anything but “minor”. I’m not going to try to discuss what caused the accident because I don’t know. The only account I have read about it is from one of the guys that was involved in the accident. I believe he was the one that t-boned the E92 BMW that eventually ended up slamming into 3 other cars. You gotta see the photos because it’s pretty wild. Random to hear about an accident like this in the parking lot of a car show but hey, it just shows that anything can happen at any time. Be careful out there folks and stay alert. Here is the driver’s account of the accident from his Tumblr account…

“I was going back to autocon, I was going north in the parking lot, then there was this white E92 going south, so I was going straight but the white E92 turned left right in front of me. I slammed my brakes but it locked and it didn’t slow me down that much. Slamming my brakes caused my car to turn right a little bit and I t-boned the E92 on accident, so then the E92 crashed into 3 other cars which are the EVO 9, Scion IQ, and another white beamer. So that’s basically what happened at autocon :(“

In his statement I didn’t see one mention of his rate of speed or speed of the other car, but somebody had to have been going a little too quick to cause this accident in a parking lot filled with cars. Anyways…
