Happy Friday all… we are back now with the second and concluding portion of The Chronicles’ 2012 VIP Festival coverage. SEMA coverage is on its way next week and who knows how long that coverage is going to take. I’ve just barely scratched the surface on that massive set of photos and I’m in the process now of trying to leave some stuff out so that it doesn’t drag on forever. If I had saved the VIP Festival coverage for after, man, it would be so old by then that people probably wouldn’t even be interested because they would have seen everyone else’s photos on all the other sites. I pride myself on getting quality coverage up as soon as it happens and I’m happy that I made the decision to try to get these two photo sets up as soon as I could. I already felt bad about sitting on the photos from my own Year.IV meet but everything so far has run pretty smoothly even though we were technically a week late with everything, being that I was out of town for the week. Anyways, let’s get through the VIP Festival stuff so you guys can get your weekend started…
Part 1 of the VIP Festival coverage is here if you didn’t get a chance to see it…
VIP Festival 2012 Coverage…Part 1…
Thanks once again to Freddie and Autofashion for putting on this great event and giving VIP enthusiasts an annual event to look forward to…
As you can see here, it was a jam-packed house with spectators and their vehicles spilling over to the adjacent parking lots. Since it was a Sunday, the surrounding businesses were closed and the overflow didn’t affect anyone…
I accidentally deleted the photo of the Autofashion “Chicken Little” 2GS build yesterday while working on the coverage so I made sure to put these two shots of it right up top today…Love WED’s Kranze Bazreias…
Lux Life’s Diamond VIP 745 BMW build that was completed just recently in time for the VIP Festival…
Another shot of Drew/RITZY33’s white Q45 on VeilSide Andrews Racing F wheels and Version Select aero…Love the wheel choice since it was a wheel that was pretty unobtainable when they first came out years back and are still very rarely seen…
Beautiful white Lexus LS460 wearing complete Wald aero and VIP Modular VR01s from Endless Projects Norcal…
Toyota Sienna van on Airrunner suspension and Work Gnosis GS4 wheels…
Can’t get enough of the Squad One LS430 so I grabbed some more shots of it…
Love the custom all-red diamond-stitched interior of the LS430…
Walked inside the Autofashion facility to get out of the shade for a little bit and snapped this shot… Too bad nobody fucks with that Street Fighter Alpha machine anymore…
Robert from Falken Tire’s FJ Cruiser on Mag Blue TE37s…
Big Steve and Jin’s LS400s posted right up front at the VIP Festival…
One more shot of Will and Gil Susana’s Datsun 510…
I was walking around seeing what was new and spotted the pepper white EK that I last saw at my Year.IV event…
Nice clean interior with Spoon steering wheel…
I then walked across the street to the opposite lot to get a closer look at these three EF hatchbacks…
Interesting use of Riverside Altstadt dish wheels on this red Civic hatchback…
White EF owned by Mario aka “Panda” on old Heroes Racing wheels…
This other red EF was sitting on some SSR Hasemi Sport S5…
This widebody JZA70 Supra looked pretty raw on Work Equips…
Dodge 300C from Huntington Beach also known as “Fatchance 2.0” which I was first introduced to during the 2011 SEMA show… I missed out on seeing it at this year’s SEMA event but luckily had a chance to see it in person once again at the VIP Festival. Probably one of the most well-rounded, best-looking 300Cs out in the last few years….
Slow Kuruma’s R35 GTR on Takata Green TE37SL…
Another close-up shot of Blitz’s SSR Professor MS3s and gold Futura brakes…
Work Equip E05 wheels and Brembo brakes…
…and a close-up of the glittery-teal Work VS-XX/Brombacher wheels on the white VW Golf from Part 1…
Hyundai Genesis sedan looking pretty good on AME Shallen AX…
Armand’s TRD widebody SW20 MR-2…
Another photo of “Dajap’s” Mode Parfume LS430 on WED’s Kranze LXZ…
…along with another of Noel Barnum’s 5Axis-kitted Scion FR-S…
Royal Flush DC5 RSX getting set to take off…
Pretty interesting to see a VIP-styled Lincoln MKS with UAS air suspension and 22-inch VIP Modular VX110…
John Liwanag’s Junction Produce GS400 from Endless Projects…
…and one more of the Lexus IS slammed on SSR Professor SP1s…
By the late afternoon, we were all getting a bit hungry and were anxious to eat some Mexican food. Every time we make a trip down to SD, I always hit up my old favorite Mexican food spot, Lolita’s Taco Shop. We said our good byes to everyone and chatted for a little while longer before packing up and heading out…
On my way to the car, I stopped to snap two quick photos of these two ladies over by the Import Fashion booth…
After that, we made the ten minute drive down to Lolita’s on Clairemont Mesa Blvd…
DPK David got the California Burrito and a side of fries to share, while his wife Jackie tried out the Carne Asada Sopas…
I was hungry as fuck so I got the Pollo Asado Fries, and Ryan Der dived right into his Carne Asada Fries so I didn’t even bother getting a photo of it…
May got the Super Rolled Tacos…
Random shot before I started eating that came out pretty cool…
That’s a wrap on VIP Festival 2012… Much love and respect to Freddie and crew, and I’ll definitely be looking forward to the 2013 VIP Festival. Maybe I’ll even get my car out there finally, haha, who knows… Thanks for looking…
Good seeing you at the VIP Fest and year IV. Lolitas is the shit. Best taco shop in SD hands down.
i want some more Lolitas..
Love that pepper white civic… I was wondering what my DC2 would look like in that color a few days ago. Looks like I got beat!
“pepper white” is from the mini cooper, right?
Reblogged this on KlanHonda.
Thank you for covering this event/scene. The Endless Projects Sienna is nuts! Been scouring the interwebs for images of it since the 6th annual BCAF meet. Hopefully it’ll be featured somewhere sooner or later. Kudos!
