Back now with the Part 2 of the Nisei Showoff 2013 coverage… Today we’re going to be covering a bulk of the cars that were at the show which consisted of a very diverse group of builds. It sort of seems reminiscent of Nisei Showoffs of year’s past with all the varying cars that were available for viewing by show-goers. Honestly, it was just good to see the lot filled again as the last couple years have had some space left open with registration numbers going down. I think the show overall was a great success; attendance was up, car registration was up, and it provides some really positive momentum for Ken Myoshi and Import Showoff going into its 20th year. With that said, let’s dive into more coverage…
If you missed Part 1, please look at it before going on today…
Nisei Showoff 2013 Coverage…Part 1…
Enjoy…
Jesse Sabater’s widebody R35 GT-R on SSR Executor CV01…
Go Tuning brought out their Spoon Sports display and had a full Spoon-themed S2000 on display. Interesting wheel selection…
Candy Red LS400 VIP build from Liberty VIP on WED’s Kranze LXZ…
Also representing Liberty was this Y34 M45 on WED’s Maverick wheels…
TE72 Corolla on Hayashi Street wheels featuring a fuel-injected 4A-GE swap…
Parked directly next to the TE72 was this TE27 Corolla Levin with a Rotary-swap. This thing sounds pretty nasty and it’s hard to describe how mean it sounds unless you were actually present to hear it…
Always been a huge fan of this “smurf blue” Corolla on RS Watanabe wheels…
K-swapped Civic built by RC’s Garage wearing First Molding front carbon “Flugel Plate” lip, First Molding side mirrors, and First Molding FRP hood…
Thanks to a suggestion from ICB Matt, all future First Molding front lips will now wear the First Molding badge…
The interior of the Civic is pretty basic and straight to the point…
Teddy Timoteo’s EK hatchback on Sprint Hart CP-Rs features Vision Technica side mirrors and Shift Sports hood, but the front lip and canards are First Molding pieces made in carbon kevlar…
Also notable is the rare (1 of 2) Neo-chromatic Chronicles “No Rival No Equal” windshield banner…
Graphite EK Civic with Enkei RPF1s and Spoon Sports carbon front lip…
Mike Schietroma’s EM1 coupe, “Electra” as he calls it, was looking a bit different than usual being that it was without the BackYard Special front bumper…
…it turns out that on the drive from Arizona, Mike hit some unknown debris that actually destroyed his BYS bumper. There was a mad scramble to find another bumper to rock for Nisei Showoff and luckily, DPK Darryl came through in the clutch and offered Mike his OEM EM1 bumper for the day. Pretty cool of Darryl to do that considering that he and Mike aren’t that well acquainted. It really shows that we are a community when good stuff like this happens. Mike offered up the bumper for sale at Nisei but no one really bit on the $300 price tag…
Randy Rubio’s purple RPS13 with JDM S13 Silvia front end and SSR Professor SP1…
His brother Richard Rubio’s RPS13 with Top Secret aero and Touring Gold SSR Professor SP3…
S14 240SX on Mag Blue Nismo LMGT4s…
Allan Catap’s SW20 MR-2 Turbo on gold Advan Racing RGs wearing a Kei Office front bumper…
An EP3 Civic made a rare appearance at Nisei Showoff 2013…
CB Accord Coupe with JDM front bumper and H22A swap. Interesting going with a Spoon Sports theme on a vehicle that never had any support from the tuning brand…
EF Civic hatchback on SSR Longchamp XRX mesh wheels rocking a JDM EF9 SiR front end…
One of the more unique builds at the Nisei Showoff event was this Toyota Corolla that features an AE11 Sprinter Carib conversion…
The Carib is actually a 5-door wagon version of the Corolla in Japan….
TOM’s Racing/Rally dish wheels…
Another interesting build was this other AE90-series Corolla with JDM Sprinter Levin front end conversion. My dad used to have one of these Corolla and he drove the ever-living shit out of it. Like, he literally drove it to death, haha…Really simple, incredibly reliable car that is rarely modded except by the older Filipino crowd…
This one even had a turbocharged 20-valve 4A-GE swap!…
Long wheelbase Audi A8 sedan on Vossen wheels…
Austin’s Y33 Q45 with JDM Cima GT front bumper, headlights, and Super Shredder front grille. It’s hard to see but he also has a really rare Insurance rear spoiler mounted to the trunk. Wheels are re-barreled Work VS-KFs…
EM1 Civic SI coupe on polished Blitz 01 wheels…
B-series turbocharged Civic hatchback with bright two-toned purple/orange combo…Not a huge fan of the colorway but I understand that it definitely attracts attention everywhere it goes…
Z32 300ZX on re-barreled Work Equip wheels…
Old school Socal import car club “Advance Motorsports” brought out a really clean RHD Mini Cooper on SSR MKIIs…
1JZ-GTE-powered Toyota Celica coupe…
Big fan of the Liberty Walk E92 BMW M3s so I always stop to get a couple snaps of them whenever I spot them at events…
LTMotorwerks also brought out this Liberty Walk BMW Z4 Roadster…
The LSB Liberty Walk E92 M3 on Work VS-XX wheels…
Hopefully it is obvious to everyone that this is a quote from a famous song by John Lennon…
Arn Reyes took some time off from being a dad for the day to bring out his Integra for Nisei Showoff…
Infiniti M45 from Team Gouki on SSR Professor SP3s…
White Zenki S14 with JDM Silvia Navin aero and polished SSR Professor SP1…
My buddy Timmy’s LS400 bagged on WED’s Sport wheels…
Another favorite of mine from Nisei Showoff was this AE86 hatchback with SSR MKIIs up front and SSR Mesh in the rear…
Under the FRP hood was a individually-throttled 20-valve 4A-GE swap…
E46 BMW M3 on refinished custom Work Equip wheels…
Parked next to it was another E46 M3 with matching Work Equip wheels…
…and next to that E46 was yet another E46, this one on HRE Vintage Series wheels…
…oh, and right next to that one was another E46 M3. Work VS-XX on this one…
Closing it out for now with some shots of one of my favorite FA5 Civic SI builds currently out here in Socal. I’m not familiar with the name of the owner of this Civic with FD2 CTR front end conversion but I dig the FEEL’s Twin Cam front fenders, F-Zero Blue Volk Racing TE37SLs, and Mugen rear spoiler. Just love how great this thing looks…
The Mugen rear spoiler looks like it is a DC5 rear piece that has been retrofitted to the JDM FD2 CTR trunk….
Finally got a chance to look under the hood and I had no idea that this car was turbocharged… Great build overall…
Well, that’s all for today. Check back tomorrow for Part 3. I’m trying to pump out all the coverage before I leave for New Jersey this weekend so thanks for keeping up to date with everything!!
Great coverage!
BTW- Mugen does make that wing for the FD2.
By chance did u get some of my black j’s racing FD2 on gouki’s side? 🙂
Those cars where CLEAN!!
i would hardly call that bys bumper ruined haha. looks like a simple job to fix..great covergae, thanks!
id love to rep that “one of two” sticker out here on the east coast.
