I think I took about 1,700 photos that weekend at Final Bout 2. It sounds a little crazy but shooting with that volume usually means that the event was pretty entertaining. I can’t honestly even tell you the last time I took that many photos. It was probably in Japan but that typically includes multiple events. I shoot doubles of everything so only about half of that batch actually makes the final cut but, as you can tell, I have a lot of photos to share. Of the three parts, this last batch probably contains my favorite photos of the entire Final Bout 2 event. These were captured on two separate days but I found that the photos towards the end were the best because I had enough time to get used to the lens I was shooting with. I wasn’t quite used to the panning of the shots at first but my confidence grew as the weekend went on. Shooting video can be a distraction too because I’m constantly trying to capture the moment but I really like how the Vlogs are coming together so I want to continue to improve on that segment of content. Near the end of Sunday, which was the final day of Final Bout 2, I concentrated more on shooting photos and was as focused as I’ve ever been…
There probably isn’t much else I need to say in regards to the Final Bout 2 event that hasn’t already been said. It’s a great event to go to and even if you don’t like drifting, I think you’ll develop a fondness for it just being there to experience the excitement and camaraderie between the enthusiasts there. It is a very personal, almost intimate look at grassroots drifting and I’m glad I made the trip out. Wisconsin is an interesting place to be as well because it is so far removed from anything that California has to offer. You learn so much more about life when you leave your comfort zone and it also helps you develop a better appreciation for what you have at home. I don’t take living in California for granted, EVER, because I’ve been to many places and I see how the locals live wherever I go. I have friends that constantly talk about moving somewhere else or living in another state besides California. I don’t know. I could never do it. I love where I live. Like, there are people in other parts of the country, even the world, that dream about living out here. That must mean that you live in a pretty spectacular place if you’re out here in Cali. Anyways, before I go too far off on a tangent, enjoy the photos and thank you to everyone for checking out my content from this great event. For the regulars, I know it’s not something that you’re used to seeing on this site. For the newcomers that came here because you are drifting aficionados, welcome, and I hope you stick around….
