Oh hey. If you’re here looking for more Wekfest Hawaii 2016 coverage, you’re in luck because the rest of the photos are here below. I wish I would have been able to capture more of the event but I usually spend only the early mornings shooting coverage and then the rest of the day is spent judging the vehicles at the show. You guys probably know my routine by now so it doesn’t require much explanation. If you don’t see your car here, it doesn’t mean that I specifically missed you on purpose or anything, I just merely don’t take a picture of every car there. Whatever catches my eye I shoot and there are times when I just don’t have the time to get to everyone. I appreciate the support however, and love chatting with people at these events. If you ever have a question or just wanna chat about car stuff, feel free to come up to me. I try to keep to myself normally but am always open for a good chat. Sorry if you don’t see your car in Part 1 or 2, it just happens to play out that way a lot of the times.
Thanks to the people of Hawaii for all the hospitality and the Wekfest staff for having me. It is always a great time in Hawaii and I look forward to heading back there again. Enjoy the photos below!….
A80 Supra Turbo on SSR Professor SP1 heading into the Neal Blaisdell Convention Center during the set-up phase of the WFHI event…
The “EVADE” AE86 looking great still after all these years. Here’s the link to the story that I wrote on the car a few years ago for the now defunct Import Tuner magazine…
The Black Limited Trueno-themed AE86 that I posted some photos of in Part 1. Really great car. If you guys have done your research on the Black Limited batch of Hachi-Rokus, you’ll enjoy this build…
Allyza from Section-D’s DA Integra on SSR Defi Fins….
One of my favorite builds on the Island is Randy’s Midori Green EK. I remember seeing it a couple years ago when I first started going to Hawaii to check out the car scene there and have stayed up to date on its progress over time. Randy is a nice guy who always takes time out of his morning to chat and show me all the new goodies he’s added…
The car itself started out as a DX model Civic but has since been modified extensively. Under the hood is a K-swap and the exterior and interior has all the makings of a competitive weekend track build…
One of the latest additions on his Civic are these Brembo Nascar rear brakes. They are a snug fit with the 15×8 Volk TEs but everything clears just perfectly and match the Brembos up front as well…
I walked inside the venue to see what was going on with the roll-in and set-up and managed to capture this photo that was completely unplanned. I think it might be my favorite shot from the entire trip and as it works out, the impromptu photos always end up being the best shots…
Jeff Pascual’s Acura Integra Type R all cleaned-up and ready for the show…
One more of Allyza’s Integra, this one with the Defi caps mounted…
Really wild Lexus LS430 on custom-built Work Equip wheels from Empire VIP…
Mike Matsumoto’s NA1 NSX on SSR Professor SP3…
A more recent build that really caught my eye during that morning of Wekfest Hawaii was JP Damo’s white Honda S2000 on SSR Professor MS3 wheels. I love MS3s and I don’t think people rock these wheels enough but the car as a whole just looks great with the Circuit Garage front fender flares and Industry Garage rear flares. The meaty tire and wheel combo just sit so good on this car and I later found out that the car has forced induction as well. Great build overall and one of the many highlights of my trip…
A closer look at the EVADE 86 and the 4A-GZE supercharged engine…
The only thing better than a clean AE86 is a fresh set of RS Watanabe wheels…
The Black Limited-themed Corolla with aggressive Work Meister CR01…
Spoon Sports-themed EJ1 Civic coupe featuring a turbocharged D-series engine…
Been a fan of this K-turbocharged Civic hatchback since I first saw it during last year’s Wekfest Hawaii event. I rarely like Rays Gram Lights wheels but this set looks great on this Civic. The blue Cusco cage is a nice touch too…
Silver EK4 SiR-themed Civic hatchback also featuring a K-swap but on aggressively-sized flat black Enkei NT03…
Slammed Civic on polished Work Equip 03…
Phillip Baliscan’s Honda CR-X with its smoothly-shaved engine bay and N/A B-series set-up…
Nismo 350Z from SMG on Work VS-XX…
Bagged Supra (sounds weird I know) with Ridox aero and Volk Racing TE37SL…
The Abanes Garage EF drag car that ended the day winning “Best of Show/Car of Festival” honors at Wekfest Hawaii 2016. Every part of this car down to the smallest details has been touched or modified in some way. Just simply spectacular…
Naturally-aspirated H2B set-up with custom tubular subframe and suspension…
One more of JP Damo’s AP2 S2000…
AE86 Levin featuring Watanabe wheels and Impulse over fenders…
This Levin-themed 86 from Section-D looked really clean with the TE37Vs that match the blue/silver colorway…
RPS13 240SX with JDM PS13 Silvia face and Work Emotion wheels…
Legit EF9 Civic SiR on Mugen CF-48 wheels from SoHonda Garage…
Remy’s Civic coupe with a brand new First Molding carbon kevlar front lip and a rare set of SSR Bang VEC II wheels…
“Shaguar” F-Type convertible on Airrex air suspension and BBS wheels…
VIP-styled Lexus SC430 in a custom green hue on Superstar Leon wheels…
One more of the Supra that opened Part 2…
Tommy Dolormente’s bagged Toyota Starlet build…
…and I’m gonna close-out this year’s Wekfest Hawaii coverage with some photos of Lance Harano’s AE86 build since it is so good…
Mint set of SSR Longchamp XR4 wheels with the widened vented front fenders….
…and his 4A-GE set-up with polished bits and pieces, HKS cam gears, and a clear cam cover to showcase them. Just a beautifully-executed AE86 overall and most certainly one of the best of this year’s event…
On that note, this wraps the WFHI 2016 coverage. Thanks for looking and thanks to the Wekfest staff for having me once again!…
Man your write ups and photos are always so great…if I had somebody to admire in the car scene I would definitely be you….you do what I would like to do in the scene congrats for all your success
