I find it pretty interesting that some were surprised that I actually found some time to capture photos at Wekfest Chicago this year. Everyone thinks that I am totally focused on video now and not doing photos anymore but I honestly love shooting with the dSLR still and if anything, I’m probably more motivated than ever to improve my photography skills. Video is fun but they are just so, so different. Admittedly, I wish I could do as much photography as I did before but video has its perks too. You get to see a lot of angles and other things that photos just don’t normally capture, especially if I am just using a tripod inside a otherwise mundane convention center. Hope you guys enjoy both because I don’t think either are slowing down any time soon…
In any case, Chicago was great and I have this last set of photos for you guys to view today. I got some much other stuff to work on leading up to Eibach that I can’t spend too much time today chatting you guys up. There are a ton of people from Japan in town for both the Eibach Honda Meet and Wekfest LA so I gotta go show them around and be a good American friend and tour guide. I’m off, see you this weekend!!…
Nick Dela Rosa’s Voltex-equipped Subaru WRX STI all set-up and aired-down inside the venue….
Ginash from JDM Chicago’s Imola Orange NA2 NSX on Advan Racing wheels with color-matched Stoptech brakes front and back. Not really sure why I didn’t take a photo of his Hako but I guess I just casually forgot about it…

Love this blue Zenki S-chassis from Street Dancer. Definitely one of the better looking cars from last year’s Final Bout event in Wisconsin. Glad to see it pop up at a car show…

Spoon Sports-themed EM1 Civic SI coupe on Desmond Regamaster EVO. Nice tight fit with the spokes of the EVO wheels and the big Spoon Sports brake calipers up front…
It wouldn’t be a car show in 2016 without at least one Liberty Walk R35 GTR, right?…
Benjamin Tran’s CL9 TSX was driven all the way from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for Wekfest Chicago…
I remember this TSX from last year’s SEMA event actually and was surprised by how thorough the build was, from the engine bay to the exterior, interior, and suspension…
It is one of those cars that has every inch of it customized in some way, maybe a little overdone for most, but I appreciate the effort he put into it and how willing he was to make the drive from Canada to be a part of the show…
Itasha-themed S14 Kouki from TF-Works/Touge Factory…
Cindy from Royal Republic’s custom widebody C63 Benz on K-Break wheels…

Can’t remember the last time I saw a strawberry-faced S13 in awhile, especially with a C-West front bumper. Looks very early 2000s-ish, especially with the V-Opt and Gran Turismo banners…
I really enjoyed this Civic hatchback with a K-swap and custom paint. The gray Regamaster wheels go great with it as well. Also, nice touch with the paint-matched First Molding Flugel Plate…
EM1 Civic SI coupe looking good with a BYS front bumper and Mugen Ferio rear wing. Wheels I believe are old Desmond wheels, but I don’t remember if that is accurate…
Awesome to see a rare Mugen BB1/4 kit on a stateside Honda Prelude. I can count on one hand how many of these kits I’ve actually seen in my whole lifetime…
Integra Type R wearing a JDM ITR front face and full Mugen aero kit. Interesting that the owner chose to go with Spoon Sports brakes and black/yellow Recaros…
This 96-spec Integra Type R looked spectacular, especially with the rare Mugen bug-eye front lip paired with the Mugen sides and Gen. II rear wing. The engine bay was also fully Mugen-themed as well…
Closing things out for this series with a shot of this Midori Green EK Civic, parked at the DWS booth, which ended the day winning the “Best Engine Bay” award, and for good reason. The entire bay was shaved cleaned, color-matched and the K-swap couldn’t have looked better. Excellent work all the way around and the rest of the car doesn’t look too bad either…
