The Chronicles x Nemo’s Garage Meet 2016 Coverage…

June seemed like a nice slow month without anything car-related going on so one day, Yuta and I decided to host a meet over at Nemos-Garage. The shop was just opened up a couple months ago and has been doing pretty well, so it was a good time to have a shindig to see some cars. I don’t rarely ever go to the Inland Empire, but of course, when I do, it has to be the hottest day of the fucking year, haha. I swear, we didn’t intentionally plan this meet on this day with the understanding that it was going to be hell on Earth. I don’t know how or why you guys were down to come out, but sure enough, we had a pretty decent-sized meet that day. It is always nice to have a get together to hang out with friends and I’m glad people were able to stick out the rough weather. Tiffanie and myself were hiding out inside the office because there was A/C blasting, but did find some time to walk around to shoot some photos. Things have been pretty busy over here at The Chronicles HQ so I barely had the time to go through the photos until yesterday. As I am typing this, I am also trying to remember everything that I need for my trip to Seattle in a few hours. I’m doing my annual trip up there to go shoot some cars for some magazine publications and this month seemed like the best time to do it. Being that it is so hot lately in California, it sounds amazing to be able to escape to the Pacific Northwest. It’s always nice up there during this time and the sun doesn’t set until like 9-9:30 so it leaves plenty of time to shoot…

Umm, there are some things that I’d like to discuss with you guys in regards to Nemos-Garage and its future, but I feel it is better to be explained at a different time. They got some good parts and stuff in stock, so head over there and order-up if you need anything. They are currently the only shop in California to stock Exceed SSD coilovers but I believe there are only a few sets left so jump on those while you can. We’ve been testing them lately and guys have been giving us amazing reviews on them so far. If you’re in the market for some great dampers, definitely try those out. Anyways, I gotta get back to packing and getting all my gear ready for this weekend. Enjoy the photos below and there will be plenty of new updates to come next week. I plan to do quite a bit in Seattle so I’ll try to show you guys as much of my adventures as I can…

Have a good weekend folks!

Nansi Hernandez’s RHD K-swapped Honda Civic with First Molding front lip, J’s Racing front fenders, Volk TE37SL, and a Battle Craft fiberglass hood in its original foreskin-toned finish, which for whatever reason, people have decided is cool even though we have no idea why no one wants to ever paint them. Kristian Wong was originally the guy who first started rocking his hood like that just because he didn’t have the funds to paint the hood, now it somehow turned into a “thing”… Yuta and I just scratch our heads and chuckle every time a unpainted Battlecraft hood shows up at an event unpainted…

This Civic has a nice assortment of parts on it, but it is easy to detract from that because of the obvious shaved side moldings on the body. Well, as it turns out, this Civic is the owner’s first car that he’s had for 5+ years now and his dad helped him acquire the car back then with the shaved moldings and all. The car holds a particular amount of sentimental value so he just decided to keep modding the car as-is…

I’ve always been a big fan of Erico Meollo’s Civic. He has one of the best-looking engine bays and the coolest thing about it is that he decided to keep the single-cam motor in it. You don’t see many people giving the D-series love and he’s probably one of the best at making it look good. The custom re-lipped BBR Comp wheels are a nice new addition…

IMG_2033-Edit

Kristian Wong finally decided to finish-up his D-series powered Integra and got it running just in time for the meet. This was actually his first time driving it anywhere other than around the parking lot inside SP Engineering. He built his Integra specifically to drive in the N2 Class in the VTEC Club series, and while a bit bizarre for an Integra, is built with a goal of pure function in mind. Kristian always builds some pretty interesting cars so it almost wasn’t a surprise when we all found out that he was building a single-cam Integra. If you care to see how it does, it will actually be competing in this weekend’s VTEC Club event…
