The Chronicles Vlog 2016 #9 (Part 2): The Countdown to SEMA 2016…

Well, all the stress that comes with getting all the cars ready for SEMA is upon us. In Part 2 of Vlog #9, we take you to various spots throughout Southern California to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the vehicles that our friends have been working on for the annual event. Big Mike’s Prelude has been down for quite some time now and no one really knew what was going on with it since it was all very secretive, but alas, his new set-up is finally unveiled and you get to see the car come together just 11 days before SEMA. After visiting Big Mike, we stopped by the famed APEX’i facility to watch a late night tuning session with the Spoon Sports FD2 Civic Type R. That car has also gone through a myriad of changes in the recent months and the crew from Spoon Sports USA has been busy trying to button-up all the loose ends in time for the Super Lap Battle event at Buttonwillow. The Autofashion USA Pandem Civic build ultimately did not get completed in time due to some unforseen issues but we just had to give you a glimpse of it just so you guys can see how crazy the car will be when it is eventually finished….

There is always cool new stuff debuting at SEMA 2016 and we were fortunate enough to know some of the guys putting the cars together. One of them in particular is the Old&New Japan Porsche 997 widebody kit, designed by Kei Miura with some help from 180Nakkan. Mikey from Phaze2 was given the opportunity to have the kit first and the guys from IDL Designs did a fantastic job of really transforming the car into a real show stopper. The car was planned to be on display center-stage at the Toyo Tires booth at SEMA so the car just had to be perfect. The kit is a really interesting slant-nose Porsche style body that pays homage to the classic Porsches of old and it is an incredibly interesting kit to see in person…

My annual anniversary meet takes place annually the weekend before SEMA so you will also get to see some of the guys working on their own cars in preparation for my event. Year8 is a fun, chill, event with nice cars so everyone wanted to make sure that they were looking their best for the event. Most of the footage is filmed in the late evenings so I apologize if the video isn’t the greatest looking, but I feel that the subject matter is more important than a glamourous, more polished, video. Enjoy and stay tuned for more videos. We took a break for a little bit to take care of some real life stuff but there is a lot more content to come. Just make sure to subscribe so you’re notified when the new videos drop!

*I am not a videographer and this wasn’t meant to be a visual masterpiece of any sort. I am merely capturing bits and pieces of my life for you guys to see…
