You never know what you’ll find at a race track in Kansai…

After a few weeks in Tokyo, it was time for me to head to Osaka to hang out with Yasu and catch-up on all the happenings over in the Kansai region. There’s always something happening out there but I also enjoy Osaka because it feels like a second-home. Life seems almost normal when I’m out there and I’ve developed a normal routine out there, which is important to me. One of the first big things I had lined-up with Yasu was heading back to Kansai’s famed Central Circuit to check-out the Central Time Attack Challenge, a racing event that has become a regular stop for me during my winter and spring visits to Japan. This one is always a good one because I always find something new and unique to look at and this year’s was no different. I found a Honda I never thought would be a competitive time attack vehicle and also found some visitors that came from the Kanto region to compete with some of the best in this area…

I actually had a good amount of time at Central Circuit that day too so I shot some photos to go with the episode that I’ll include below. It’s like 2:20AM here in Osaka right now so let me see if I can get these all up before I knock-out at my desk inside my room at Yasu’s place…

The first car that caught my attention immediately upon entering Central Circuit in Hyogo was this EF9 from Rhythm Motors wearing a LEGO livery. I haven’t seen this one before and the livery is likely new. Looking at the quarter glass, it seems to indicate that this Civic is from Yellow Dragon, a well-known car club from out in this region. I wonder why it was on a flat-bed all weekend instead of out on the track. Something must have happened during testing the day prior which left the car strapped to a trailer…

  1. Amazing work Joey. Thank you for the quick upload! Happy belated birthday to Yasu the man. : )

Those Honda Accords were something I’ve wanted to collect for years now. I would do the same given the opportunity.

Kansai track days coverage always a treat.

Can’t believe you even caught up to the Garage Work EK9 and also stanatnight.

He’s had his ups and downs with that EF but I’m happy to see he is driving it.

If you see this message Stan, thanks for sharing your adventures and personal perspective from over there in a classic machine many people would love own and also experience. That car has always stood out like a local team’s car and maybe even more so with the livery. Looked very authentic even when it was still black!

We appreciate you updating your YT and IG with your latest antics even though we kno sometimes it can be a big challenge for you when you gotta juggle car maintenance stuff and take long drives.

For anyone interested in following Stan and his ASLAN themed EF9 Civic, please check out his really cool youtube channel @Kaeruzoku

I wish there were more followers to his channel so it can motivate him a little more moving forward.

Stan is a true enthusiast and loves Hondas as much as we do. Dude is dedicating years of his life away from home for this stuff and we hope to see him in Japan as long as he can to see these rare to us Honda Civic adventures.

We really appreciate your enthusiasm and seeing your little EF kicking around Stan! : ) Bon courage! <3
