I haven’t figured out what to call this series of videos yet, some have suggested some interesting names, but I’m just glad everyone seems to be enjoying them! This week, we head over to Zero Auto Factory where Yuta is doing an install on our friend Steve Nakamura’s Lexus IS200T, and then Rodney Moenadi, another good friend of our’s, cruises by the shop to show us his 1JZ-GTE powered Toyota Cressida drift car!
I’ve been wanting to do some prints for a while now and finally pulled the trigger and two of my favorites photos and cars from my recent journeys to Japan. The first one is of Tsuyohi from NO GOOD RACING’s two Civics during heavy rain on the Osaka Kanjo and the second, one of the best of all time, the Car Mark Across EK9 parked in front of a Family Mart on a night after Joe took @ryan.der on a touge run in the mountains. Both are 24×36-inches (2×3 ft) in size, printed on high-quality durable 100lb. gloss cover paper in a matte finish. Limited to only 200 each, all will be individually numbered and labeled like my previous prints, and can be signed upon request. Man, there have been a lot of red cars popping-up at the shop lately… On this episode, we finally pull my collection of Japanese Altezza parts that I’ve been collecting over the years out of storage to install on my IS300 Sportcross. A Zero Auto Factory prototype vented hood came over stateside recently so we had to make sure it fit on U.S.-model IS300s because of the 2JZ-GE engine we have here. A few days after that, my good friend Noel Barnum came by to hang and chat so we do a deep dive into his incredibly well-built Varis widebody FR-S which is equipped with a GReddy turbo kit.
I’m always a little surprised when something we are able to put together here at the shop gets a little bit more attention than normal. When Ken Suen came by with his car I just thought it’d be interesting to hear him and Yuta chat. Both of these guys are so different in the way they think and do things that it would either become a super interesting conversation or they would just start fighting each other, lol. Whatever was going to happen that afternoon, I was confident it would be something my audience would enjoy seeing. Hell, even I was entertained to the point where I didn’t even have to say much and they just carried the Vlog themselves. Ken’s “street car” turbocharged Civic is something that any Honda enthusiast would enjoy but then you pour some personality onto it with some loud conversation and it just meshes together into great automotive comment. I think this is the type of content you need right now where it just feels like you’re hanging out with other car people and listening to your peers talk about something that you all enjoy as a whole…
