Hope you guys enjoyed the first 5. I didn’t see too many objections with it so I guess I must be doing something right…Anyways, on with the list…
5. HeyMikeyyyy’s Integra…
Why it made the list: 7+ years in the making, one of the most recognized personalities on any Honda messageboard finally landed in print. I remember the first time I met Mikey and he asked me what he had to do to get a feature. This was long before I knew anything about the industry and I told him he had to figure out the mess that was going on in his engine bay. Man, I had no idea he was gonna do what he did. The gold bay came out ridiculously sick and made his Integra stand out more than ever. I had the pleasure of going to the shoot that ended up in Honda Tuning magazine and I was very proud to see this car get the recognition that it deserved. People often mistaken Mikey’s jokes on the internet as truth and mark him down as a cocky son of a bitch but he’s actually one of the most humble people I’ve ever met. Big up to Mikey for continuing to grind and not stop once he hit his goal. Look out for this thing in 2009, definitely gonna have more crazy shit for people to gawk at…
4. Chase McMaster’s K’d and tucked CRX…
Why it made the list: Simply because this guy is living the American dream. Kid from Alabama with loads of talent in wiring picks up his stuff and moves out to California basically on a whim, and uses his talents to make himself a household name in the cutthroat Socal import scene. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, and he had time to build himself a CR-X too. Did I forget to mention that it ended up on the cover of Honda Tuning magazine? This guy is prove positive that life is all about taking big chances. I enjoyed following his build from start to finish and the end results speak for themselves.
3. Loi Song and Sportcar Motion’s record-breaking time attack Civic…
Why it made the list: Really? Do I have to remind you guys that this hatch broke the Limited FF record at the Super Lap Battle Finals? Anything Honda that Loi Song touches turns to gold and this hatchback is just a sign of things to come for Sportcar Motion. Piloted by Tim Kuo, this Civic (Wood front splitter and all) was able to run a best lap time of 1:55.948, shattering the previous record by 3 seconds! Sure it’s not the prettiest of the bunch, but it’s full function.
2. Salem’s Acura TSX…
Why it made the list: Because it’s the nicest Accord to make the cover of a magazine since the last one that did…*cough*the green one*ahem*…haha. But in all seriousness, I remember the first time I saw this TSX in person. It was at the J’s Gathering show in Norcal from the beginning of the year. Back at that time, he didn’t have as much stuff as it does now. The guy that was driving it looked so fuckin angry. I don’t know why. Turns out that it’s just Salem and that’s his general facial expression. Some of you may feel that this is really high on the list being at #2, but consider this: This TSX literally came out of nowhere. In a little to no time, Salem was able to put this TSX together and it immediately got noticed. In a community so bombarded with Civics and Integras, it’s a breath of fresh air to see this car getting recognized. It landed on the cover of Honda Tuning magazine and it’s nowhere near completion. Salem’s TSX is a staple in the game and will continue to be a major player in 2009.
So who’s number 1 on the list? Well, you’re just gonna have to stay tuned for the grand reveal….What better time to reveal the #1 Honda of 2008 than on the 1st of the new year?…..
lmao i chuckled @ salem looking angry -_-
