Need For Speed: Shift 2 Socal Launch Meet…Part 3…

Back with the 3rd and final part of the Need For Speed Shift 2 Launch event coverage. Today we’re gonna have more random stuff than the previous two parts. Just the usual BS that we’re up to, you guys should know by now that when we go to events it’s always a good time just doing random ass shit…

Phaze2 Salem and Circuit Hero Guillotine aka Gil…

A couple shots of Salem’s TSX. I shot pics of this car the night before the event actually and posted them up a couple days ago before the NFS coverage went up. If you missed it, just click here and it should take you to the post…

Gil’s DC2R always looks amazing…He’s willing pushing his Circuit Hero brand hard and the parts are coming out amazing. That beefy Circuit Hero strut/shock tower bar is worth every penny because the guys over at ASC spend almost 15 man hours on each one. It’s not like some random mass produced product. It’s all hand made and the quality and craftsmanship shows…

S13 with 1JZ heart and no face apparently…

Random shot of a rare Top Secret Volk TE37 and baller Alcon big brakes…

First time I’ve had a chance to peep the new Powerhous Amuse aero kit for the 370Z. The kit is very nice, but I don’t know how I feel about those Venaci wheels…

One more shot of the Lowrider from the previous post…

I showed up kinda late but the Source Interlink guys were kind enough to give me a pretty prime spot up front…even had a little bamboo action in the background going on…

May had her Canon S95 out the whole day and got quite a bit of coverage on her own. She has a pretty good eye for stuff so if you want to take a look at her coverage, click here and check out her personal blog…

Doug grabbed the camera for a bit and got a photo of me offering someone some raffle tickets which were used to exchange for Tacos at the event. The two security officer ladies in the background of this pic were probably the most enthusiastic people at that event. They were working security but they had their cameras and cellphones out and were taking pictures of cars and everything. Pretty interesting to see considering that ain’t really their scene you know…

This is DJ Miki Taka from what Big Mike tells me. She was DJing inside the whole day and did some MC work for the event. I guess her and Randyl Dawn and Courtney Day are like the official NFS girls for their nationwide tour to promote the game…I’m familiar with BJ’s, HJ’s, TJ’s but I honestly don’t know shit about DJing per se. Big Mike is more of a music head than I am and he says that she was actually a really good DJ. I can dig it…

Here are the girls trying to swoop up on some tacos…

Here I am talking to Kane and Jonathan Wong…

Big Mike’s Prelude…

I grubbed on some Tacos while I was there but Big Mike and a couple others were hungry so we walked over to the Noah’s Bagels to get some food. This particular Noah’s Bagels is apparently the most popular one ever because every single thing that I ordered that were out of so I ended up with something that was totally the opposite of what I wanted to eat…

After we finished eating I stopped by Ka Wong’s Corolla to see what was new on it. I absolutely love this build and it’s probably one of my favorite builds of all time. I shot it awhile back for Super Street and it’s still one of my favorite sets of photos I’ve ever shot too…Almost makes me feel like I know what I’m doing, haha….

I walked over to the small crowd that was gathering to see what was going on…

…and these two small dogs were going at it…

Phaze2 Noel dropped by to chill for a little bit. The event was almost over so most of the guys that were there hanging out were just the guys that actually had cars on display. Noel just stopped by so we could talk shit to him and he could sell Salem some expensive ass shoes…

Big Mike was reacquainting himself with Randyl Dawn who he had met at last year’s Spocom show…The conversation looked like it was going pretty good, compared to his convo with her last time, which you can see here

Ryan was pleased with how Big Mike’s conversation was going…

They talked for quite awhile actually and Courtney Day even came by to chat it up…

…at one point I’m pretty sure Courtney Day was more interested in being in a warm place though and not freezing her ass off…

Heartbreaker and their charity table set-up to benefit the victims of Japan…

New head editor over at Import Tuner, Charles Trieu and Super Street’s Jonathan Wong…

Vaughn Gitten Jr. looking on as he waited for his turn in the NFS hot lap challenge…

Hopefully my copy of the game comes in soon so I can check it out. The one previous to this current game was pretty good in my opinion so I’m sure I’ll like it once it shows up on my doorstep…

A couple more shots of Chris Rado’s insanely aggressive Scion tC racecar…

I really liked this 350Z with black chrome Work S1 wheels…It’s a good look…

Another of my Q45…

I just had to take one more look at the Evasive Motorsports Civic before I left…

It was cool that all the different mag titles and Speedhunters were able to bring out such a different variety of high-quality builds. From track cars, to domestics, to lowriders, to more simple track-themed show cars, this event had it all…

One more of the S13 convertible…

Porsche on Work Meister S1 3-piece wheels….MUST + BE + NICE….

The Twins Turbo staff pushing their twin-turbo Dodge Viper back into the trailer…

That’s it. After that May and I had dinner and then we stopped by one of our homie’s birthday parties at their house. It was a chill time. I know this event was a little small for the most part but I had a really good time there just being around nice cars and being able to chat with people that I haven’t seen in awhile…Thanks for looking….
