“Nobody does it betterrrr….” Eibach has come and gone and just like last year, it was every bit as good as the year before that. If you’re here, then you are probably expecting to see pics from this past weekend and I’m happy to bring it to you. Like always, my coverage extends a little bit past just the meet itself and I want to give you guys a feel of how everything went down from my perspective. The meet was great. Probably less cars this year but that was actually a good thing because the spacing was better and people had a better view of every Honda that was there. Foot traffic improved from years’ past and people came in almost community-like crowds. Even with the rain, people were still making the trek out and coming to Corona, CA to check out the event. Yes, the rain was a little unexpected, especially considering how the meets have been before but it really didn’t deter very many people from coming. If anything, the crowd actually came on time when the meet opened up to the public. I remember around 6am I got a call from Salem and he asked me if it was raining down in my area. I told him no and that it wasn’t supposed to rain even though he called me just to tell me that it was pouring where he was at. I didn’t want to believe him but the moment we got to the Eibach facility, it started to come down hard…

Overall it was a great weekend. Though I spent the majority of the week just trying to prepare for the booth that was provided for me, there were plenty of other things going on to take my attention away from my duties to the storefront. I got a text message in the beginning of the week from one of the guys asking me if I was down to go to the Toyota Museum, being that TORC was the Saturday of Eibach. With so much going on, I didn’t really think that it was a good idea to go to the Museum but it’s just one of those opportunities that come by rarely so I just had to go. The main reason behind not wanting to go would be the lack of even more sleep but that was a reoccurring theme throughout the weekend so I went for it. One of these days I’ll post up the pics I shot there but you guys obviously want to see pics from the Eibach meet so that will come another time.

Another major event that was going on this past weekend was the wedding of Mr. Bisi Ezerioha and his long-time girlfriend Hedi. In all honesty, I was a little surprised when I received the wedding invitation in the mail. Definitely honored, but a bit surprised. I know Bisi and Hedi are really big on family so I knew it would be a very private ceremony. I say I was surprised because it was such a great honor to know that I would be a witness to this event. They are great people and I couldn’t say enough kind things about them. That and how many people can say that they went to Bisimoto’s wedding? It was cool being there to see the wedding go down because both come from very different cultural backgrounds. Both families had their traditional cultural attire on and just seeing that alone was cool enough. It was a small, very private wedding. Very few “industry” people and mostly family and their close family friends. Big Mike of course was there as well as Ryan aka Rywire. Waking up at 7am or so is always a struggle for me, especially since that’s the time I usually decide to go to sleep so of course, I showed up a little late. May and I were able to sneak inside to catch the majority of the ceremony though and it was great. Afterwards there was some picture taking opportunities and that’s where we will begin today…

After Antonio from Motormavens finished taking photos, it was off to Fogo de Chao in Beverly Hills for the wedding reception. For you out of state people, Fogo de Chao is a baller Brazilian steakhouse that’s one of the hot spots in the LA area. These type of Brazilian spots are where it’s all you can eat meat and they continue to bring you different cuts of meat until you flip over this little sign to tell them to stop. I had eaten there before with May for Dine LA and it was delicious so I we were both excited to eat there again. May had since become a vegetarian but when you’re at Fogo de Chao, you throw everything out the window and just eat copious amounts of red meat. Bisi does it big wherever he goes so of course, so the whole restaurant was reserved for reception. You know how they have the traditional money dance where attendees pin money to the bride and groom while dancing with them? Well not at this wedding, haha. Guys and gals were making it rain and money was everywhere, it was a sight to be seen… All in all, it was one of the best weddings I had ever been too and I’ve been to three so far in just the last two months alone. Bisi’s father made a great speech with some thoughts and words that I will always keep with me and there was just such a great, positive mood in the air throughout the day…

May and I really had to get back to working on merchandise so we went back to her place so that she could start baking. May always brings out her baked goods for the events where I have a booth so she had strategically planned out what exactly she wanted to make for Eibach. I was weeding out the stickers that I had brought over to her place to save some time so the rest of the afternoon was spent working. I knew some of the ATS Garage guys were in town for Eibach and I really wanted to spend some time with them. When May finished up, I called DPK David to see where they were at and what they were up to. He told me that they were all down at the Rywire facilities prepping their cars so I stopped by to say what’s up to everyone….

When I walked through the rear gate of the Rywire facilities, this was the first thing I saw. The guys told me that Chris Sakai was having some issues with a C/V axle and whenever there’s a problem with a that, it’s usually a messy one. Turns out the C/V boot itself slid off the axle shaft and grease just went everywhere. I’ve had the same thing happen to me back when I had my Accord and it’s just a total pain in the ass to clean up…

It was a pretty packed house with everyone trying to keep their cars inside the Rywire building…

Chris had recently swapped out his Volk CE28 wheels in favor of some mint Regamaster EVOs…

…and being that Chris had the wheel off his car already, we wanted to see how Regas would look on DPK David’s coupe so ATS Fred “FCB” Chapman swapped out the front wheel…

Not a bad look at all, maybe this will be a permanent look in the future…

Once the Rega came off, Ryan Der mentioned that he had his TE37 in his trunk as a spare so they decided to throw that on as well. The tire and offset might have been a problem so Ryan was watching closely as the car was lowered on the floor jack…

The TE isn’t a bad look either and David always wanted a set of black TE37s on his car. The tire is a little too meaty for David’s set-up but it gives the coupe a much more menacing look…

The boot sounded like an easy fix but the main issue was the C/V boot clamp not fitting over the boot correctly. It would have been an easy to just got get another clamp but all the stores were closed up by the time they had everything taken apart…Eventually they got it fixed but it took awhile…

I had quite a night ahead of me so I stayed a couple more minutes before heading home to work on merchandise for the booth. May helped me create a giant sign with all the info and prices for the booth while I spent the whole night putting stickers together. I had planned to work on stuff until 2am or so, so that I could get at least a couple hours of sleep but that just didn’t happen. I also wanted to load up the truck with everything before I went to bed and by the time I had finished both things, it was already time to go to the Eibach facilities… In the two days prior to Eibach, I had only 4 hours of sleep combined and heading to Eibach on no sleep at all wasn’t going to be a good idea, but I tread forward, relying on just excitement and adrenaline alone to keep me awake for the rest of the day…

When I got to Eibach, there was already a long line that led down the street with cars doubling up both sides of the road so I had a feeling that were would be an issue with keeping the streets clear. I pulled into the lot and we started to set up shop…

While we were setting up, I caught Chivas and his orange coupe rolling in…

Big crowds, for whatever reason, always like to show up incredibly early to clog up the streets and make it difficult for cars to come in. This year there were even people setting up tents outside just so they could watch cars drive in…By this time the cars were starting to come in and people were cutting in and out of the main line, which only helped to create more traffic…

Takeshi from Type_K Autosource and Tetsuya from Yamazstore/USDMJam made the trip from Japan again and took their usual spot at the Eibach meets to snap pictures…

Alright, so let’s talk about the elephant in the room…This crowd was blocking the entire street leading into the building because there was an Integra being towed. I’m sure you guys have all read about it or seen videos of it on Youtube. The cops were already getting irritated by the fact that there were people running around all over the street, as well as the road being cluttered with cars, many going the wrong direction so they wanted the street to be cleared. As they went back and forth, telling people to move and to get the cars out of the way, they come across this Integra that has no hood and is loud as fuck on a public street…honestly, what did you think would happen? So they stopped him, look at his registration and saw that the tags weren’t even current, so they took the car. Shit happens. Maybe the guy shouldn’t have been driving around with no hood and everything on the motor showing. Maybe the cops were being a little harsh, but they had every right to be annoyed by what was going on out there. It’s a problem every year, but people don’t know how to fucking listen and not crowd the streets. If you want to look at cars, wait until everyone is inside and then you can stare at the cars as long as you fucking want to. When I saw all this unfolding I was already on the street talking to Rodrez about whether or not he needed help so I walked over to see what was going on. When I walked near the crowd, honestly, I was fucking embarrassed for everyone there. The people that had formed a crowd around the tow truck and DC2, did not know the owner, nor did they have anything to do with what was going on but of course, they thought it would be a good idea to talk shit to the cops. When people are in a crowd, it’s cool to be the tough guy so there were random ass dudes who were cussing and talking shit to the police while they were trying to get people to get out of the way so that the tow truck could move. It was ridiculous… a cop was on the speaker telling people to move and dudes were like “You move!!” and saying stuff like “Do your job you fucking cracker!” and other dumb, nonsensical shit like that. Come on guys, just let the police do their jobs. You only make the situation worse when you piss off the police with your shit talk. I was surprised the cops were so calm about the whole thing. I think kids were like trying to put stickers on the police bikes as they were driving by as well…

I also overhead people talking to eachother about how it was set-up by the people at Eibach…..uhh…what?! After the crowd dispersed, I even saw a guy yell at one of the Eibach staff and say “What’s up with that man? You guys set us up this year!” When the dude was in no way involved with the situation that had occurred. This dude was also one of the guys who were talking shit to the police of course, so he was acting all brave and shit in front of his friends. Trust me, if it was a set-up, I’m sure the police would have blocked off the lot and cavity-searched everyone there. Why anyone would want to set up some sort of sting operation when they are providing space and time for enthusiasts to hang out is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard, but of course you have ignorant ass people out there and they will try to make themselves victims in any situation. Bottom line is the owner of the Integra was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He made the poor decision to drive a loud ass car around with no hood on and without proper paperwork, so it got towed. He got caught and his car was taken, end of story. No set-up, no sting operation, no deal with the police…period. It’s a shame he had his car taken from him but he’ll get it back. He doesn’t need your support and you yelling at the police when the guy is trying to keep his car from being taken and possibly crushed. Sucks that he got caught up in a bad situation but I was more disappointed in how people around him were reacting. It only made matters worse and almost led to the entire event being shut down…

People love to complain about the police presence every year at these Eibach events but everyone is just trying to do their jobs. Don’t act like a fucktard and be disrespectful to law enforcement and they won’t bother you. How hard is that for people to understand? Everybody is on this whole “catch me ridin’ dirty” Chamillionaire shit…get the fuck outta here with that. You drive a Honda, you know the risks that it entails to have a modified car. Chamillionaire makes shitty music, let him do that and you focus on staying out of trouble…

Maybe you guys should blame yourselves for making the situation worse by making it a big deal instead of blaming the police for doing their jobs. Unless there’s a crazy white girl yelling at some kid to get the fuck out of his own car, you really don’t need to be standing around and filming anything…haha…

See this guy drove by just fine. He got a mean ass stare from the cop but it’s probably because he thinks this dude’s car is too low and it’s gonna get stuck on a sewer manhole cover further down the road…

After all that drama happened, I headed back to the booth to see what was going on and to get out of the rain that was starting to pour down…

That’s all for today…I spent the next hour or so eating to keep me awake and helping Tony and May run my booth…
