Treasure Market 2013 Coverage…

So…what exactly is Treasure Market? Umm.. I’m not entirely sure. It doesn’t sound like anything car-related at all but apparently it is. This meeting of car enthusiasts happened over at IPS Stadium in Japan  about a month ago and features not only custom automobiles, but also features a food fair, music, and a bike display. It consists of a ton of random things going on all at once but the reason I chose to display the photos here on the site is because I love to spotlight Shota Mori’s work. As I’ve said repeated times, Mori attends a ton of events over in Japan and always takes some of the best event photos over there. I thoroughly enjoy his work and what he captures and it is always a pleasure to present them here for you on the site. He normally sends complete sets to me to go through but he didn’t send me the Treasure Market stuff. I guess he didn’t feel like I wanted it for the site since it consisted of so many random elements but after going through the photos, I decided that it would be cool to show them to you guys. Hondas are my specialty but I am a lover of all car-related things so I really enjoy seeing the variety. I am and will always continue to be a huge fan of the Japanese car community so it is always a pleasure to see the latest happenings overseas. There isn’t too much more to say since I am not very familiar with this event but enjoy the photos. The vehicles there were very mixed-up and I sorted the photos in the order that they were taken. I missed the Extreme Dimensions Car Show this past weekend but I think you guys would probably like this coverage more anyway since you’re likely to see a lot of the same cars lately with all the events going on here in the U.S…

Thanks to Shota Mori once again for coming through with the photos. They are captured through his eyes and post-processing was done by me after I received the photos….

Shota drove his CA Accord once again, this time rolling on white Mugen MR5s, and captured these shots of his car alongside a Honda NSX during a rest stop on the way to the event…

The event was held at IPS Stadium, which is actually a mall and not so much a “stadium”…

There were a lot of non-modified vehicles on hand since there was more than just a car meet going on and this RA3 Odyssey stood out to me particularly because I have the same car. I recently added the JDM front and rear bumpers to mine and the car is actually getting painted as I type this. I’m excited to get it back since it was so beat up before when I first purchased it used a couple months ago. This RA3 actually has U.S. clear corners on it so I guess it’s not appropriate to say that it isn’t “modified”…

The body looks like it’s brand new from the factory. Unless the owner took incredible care of this early 90’s BNR32, it has most likely been massaged and repainted…

  1. Are those center locking wheels on the R32 as well? Holy crap, high $$ (yen) build. That has to be the biggest cone air filter I’ve ever seen as well.
