So…what exactly is Treasure Market? Umm.. I’m not entirely sure. It doesn’t sound like anything car-related at all but apparently it is. This meeting of car enthusiasts happened over at IPS Stadium in Japan about a month ago and features not only custom automobiles, but also features a food fair, music, and a bike display. It consists of a ton of random things going on all at once but the reason I chose to display the photos here on the site is because I love to spotlight Shota Mori’s work. As I’ve said repeated times, Mori attends a ton of events over in Japan and always takes some of the best event photos over there. I thoroughly enjoy his work and what he captures and it is always a pleasure to present them here for you on the site. He normally sends complete sets to me to go through but he didn’t send me the Treasure Market stuff. I guess he didn’t feel like I wanted it for the site since it consisted of so many random elements but after going through the photos, I decided that it would be cool to show them to you guys. Hondas are my specialty but I am a lover of all car-related things so I really enjoy seeing the variety. I am and will always continue to be a huge fan of the Japanese car community so it is always a pleasure to see the latest happenings overseas. There isn’t too much more to say since I am not very familiar with this event but enjoy the photos. The vehicles there were very mixed-up and I sorted the photos in the order that they were taken. I missed the Extreme Dimensions Car Show this past weekend but I think you guys would probably like this coverage more anyway since you’re likely to see a lot of the same cars lately with all the events going on here in the U.S…
Thanks to Shota Mori once again for coming through with the photos. They are captured through his eyes and post-processing was done by me after I received the photos….
Shota drove his CA Accord once again, this time rolling on white Mugen MR5s, and captured these shots of his car alongside a Honda NSX during a rest stop on the way to the event…
The event was held at IPS Stadium, which is actually a mall and not so much a “stadium”…
There were a lot of non-modified vehicles on hand since there was more than just a car meet going on and this RA3 Odyssey stood out to me particularly because I have the same car. I recently added the JDM front and rear bumpers to mine and the car is actually getting painted as I type this. I’m excited to get it back since it was so beat up before when I first purchased it used a couple months ago. This RA3 actually has U.S. clear corners on it so I guess it’s not appropriate to say that it isn’t “modified”…
I’m not really all about the crazy mixture of colors but I thought this Fit looked pretty good on Work Emotion XT7s….
This R32 Skyline GTR looks amazing. The paint still looks wet and the red tone really helps to make this GTR pop…
The engine bay with the RB26DETT isn’t looking half bad either, especially with the contrasting grey in the bay…
The body looks like it’s brand new from the factory. Unless the owner took incredible care of this early 90’s BNR32, it has most likely been massaged and repainted…
This Hakosuka Skyline from Techincal Garage Sudou also looked exceptional on white-faced Work Meister S1…
Datsun Sunny pick-up truck also from Technical Garage Sudou…
VWs were also well-represented at the Treasure Market event…
I can’t sit here and tell you that I’m a fan of Klutch wheels but this Golf and its interior were very clean…
Lowrider culture has always been popular in Japan so seeing this Impala overseas should come as no surprise…
Subaru WRX STI from Mature Japan, an aero company that specializes in the Subaru brand…
One of the more unexpected appearances at the event was this supercharged Pontiac Trans Am/Firebird drag car from Team J-Speed Drag Racing. You don’t even see these cars around here in the U.S. anymore so it’s pretty wild to see one built to this level residing in Japan…
Judging by these JDDA (Japan Drag Race Driver Association) certification decals on the body, this Firebird was also competitive for a number of years in Japan…
Silver FD2 Civic Type R on aggressive Work Emotion CR wheels…
R31 Skyline sedan sitting on some Work XSA 02C…
EF9 Civic SiR on classic SSR MK1 wheels…
Nissan Skyline 350GT coupe with a collection of 150ml Coca Cola cans resting in the rear wheels…
Individually carb’d Toyota Crown coupe…
E36 BMW M3 on AC Schnitzer Type-II wheels…
A duo of Accord Euro Wagons, one with a USDM Acura TSX Wagon conversion and one with the factory Honda front end…
Norifumi Kobayashi’s TSX Wagon conversion on Work Emotion CR Ultimates representing LEVEL ONE Japan…
Accord Euro Wagon with carbon front lip…
Love how this CL7 Accord Euro-R looks on silver SSR Type-F wheels…
One more of the pair from Technical Garage Kudou…
…and the rear of the Hakosuka Skyline 2000GT…
I’d hate to be the guy that has to set-up this display and tear it down at a car meet…
A few more of the bright red BNR32…
I don’t know why but I appreciate American classics that much more when they are in immaculate condition in a country where they are considered the “rare imports”…
One of my favorite Odyssey builds in Japan is this white Odyssey Absolute owned by Masahiko Sagawa…
…and I appreciate the fact that he reps The Chronicles on his front windshield. It means a lot to me when I see that I am well-represented in Japan since I have always been such a big fan of their automotive community…
This classic Toyota apparently is riding at static height as you can see it here taking off from the Treasure Market event…
Wild-looking Bosozoku-styled Daihatsu Mira…
Touma Kaga’s EF on white Work RSZ-R…
Shota Mori’s CA Accord and Akifumi Ikeda’s Integra Si-VTEC…
Seiya Suzuki’s DB8R, Kaga’s EF, and Kohei Taguchi’s ITR…
Ikeda’s Integra on bronze Volk Racing SE37K…
A couple of group shots by Mori as the sunset on IPS Stadium… You probably recognize that white FD2 R from the USDM Jam 10 coverage that Mori also documented for us…
Closing out the Treasure Market coverage with this white EK9 Civic Type R….
Thanks for looking…
Great pics! Just curious if he also has any pics of the pink Fatlace 180sx in the reflection of the R31 skyline sedan?
Are those center locking wheels on the R32 as well? Holy crap, high $$ (yen) build. That has to be the biggest cone air filter I’ve ever seen as well.
PICS ARE AWSOME! …. CARS TOO ,.. REALLY LOVE THE E36 AND THE EF … 😉
Joey-san. Not Corona. Those Crown HardTop 2Dr.
Thanks, fixed!
