Exclusive Content: Unpublished Photos From Noel Barnum’s Import Tuner Feature…

IMG_3976-Edit

There’s a bit of an interesting story behind this shoot…. I’m sure many of you recognize Noel Barnum’s (or better known as “Canibeatnoel”) Scion FR-S by now. It is literally everywhere. It’s a very popular car because the Scion FR-S has become immensely popular in the last two years due in part to the introduction of the TRA Kyoto Rocket Bunny aero kit in the U.S. The platform in combination with the kit makes it a very popular vehicle all over the world. It has a very distinct look to it so when Noel had the opportunity to build his, he decided to switch it up a bit and make it his own by incorporating a T&E Vertex lip kit. Anyways, it’s a cool story that you should have read about in Import Tuner but I mentioned that it was interesting because I’ve actually known Noel for a couple of years now so it was cool to be able to shoot the photos and tell his story. When I found out that Import Tuner wanted his car, I contacted head editor Charles Trieu to see if he would assign me the job. It was probably the easiest route for him since I know Noel and it is convenient for me to plan out a day to shoot the car. Charles seemed to like the idea but sort of threw a wrench into the plans when it told me that he needed the story and photos done by the following week. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem for me because I work fast but I think he told me that he needed the story done on that Wednesday or something…so it meant that I basically had a weekend to pull this off. I don’t think he expected me to actually pull it off but by early Monday morning, everything was in his inbox ready to go…

The photos you’re going to see today are the digital versions from the feature as well as the photos that never made it to print. I usually drop these photos here on the site a month or so after the feature has hit the news stands but there has been so much stuff to post lately that I just haven’t had the time to. Hopefully you guys like the photos and the featured vehicle but if not, oh well, have a good weekend, haha. If you want the larger versions of the photos posted below, just click on the photo itself and it’ll take you to another window. Right-click once the photo has loaded and it’ll give you an option of what size you want. Save them, post them on your desktops, share them, it’s all fine and dandy as long as you DO NOT ALTER THE PHOTOS IN ANYWAY OR REMOVE MY WATERMARK. Don’t be a fucking douchebag and steal my content and post it as your own. There’s too much of that shit going on lately and there’s just nothing wrong with giving the original creator credit for their time and hard work. Thanks…

I edited some of the “behind-the-scenes” shots just for myself and to post on the site later but I didn’t realize that I had attached them with the final set of photos I submitted to the editor. I guess it worked out though because he liked the shot above and it ended up being the opening photo for the spread…
