Track And Show Japan 2015 Coverage…Part 1 of 3…

Never has there been a more appropriate name for an event in all the world… The Japanese “Track And Show” event is literally just that, a track event that is also paired with a car show featuring the same cars. The “Track” portion of it isn’t like a crazy insane time attack competition or anything, it merely gives enthusiasts an opportunity to get out on the track to run their cars. The weather was pretty cold and damp that day so maybe it was better that these guys take a light-hearted approach to the whole racing side of it instead of attempting to run record-breaking times. Events like this are cool in that they allow a bigger variety of cars to get out on the track that wouldn’t otherwise be considered competitive in a real circuit race. The guys that do race often get some practice in and show car guys get to smash on the track for a change instead of having to worry about keeping their cars clean…

I’m actually heading back to Japan in a couple of days so you’re going to see a lot of heavy Japanese content in the coming weeks. Luckily Shota Mori, who lives in Japan, has provided me with some content while I am on leave. Mori always comes through with great photos and I’m happy to see his growth as a photographer. He seems to really get the grasp of capturing the cars and environment around him. It is always a pleasure for me to host his photos here on The Chronicles and he is probably the only person that I trust to provide content on a consistent basis other than myself. I’ve spent many years pumping out coverage and other photos on my own and I take pride in that, but Shota Mori is just one of those guys whose work deserves viewing and recognition. He puts forth such a great effort to be everywhere in Japan that is hosting any sort of automotive event and does a very detailed job in covering everything he sees. There are a lot of parallels between he and I when it comes to that sort of work rate and effort so it is fitting that you see his content here…

With that said, much thanks to him for the great work once again and enjoy the coverage…
