I feel like every time we look at photos from a Kday! event, it almost seems as if we are all taken on a time warp into a place where 80s and 90s custom car builds reigned supreme. The event feels like something straight out of a time capsule and it almost seems odd to see newer cars like RX8s and Evolution Xs parked next to a slew of period-perfect Hondas. I think the venue, its cars, its enthusiasts, and Shota Mori do an incredible job of portraying this event in a way where you almost feel stuck in time…but in a delightfully good way. All of Mori’s shots are so cinematic and really help to capture the mood of the rainy afternoon in Miyagi, Japan. You’d think that the crazy monsoon-like weather would affect the event but it ultimately did very little but create a unique ambiance. Salem actually called me while he was there to ask me about some stuff that was for sale and he said that the rain was pretty crazy. Everyone seemed to just hang out like normal though and enjoyed each other’s company. I think that is where cultural differences play a huge part in how events play out. I think here people would have left long before even trying to stick around and would not want to hang out at a meet filled with torrential downpour. In Japan, I think people have an overwhelming respect for one another and guys like Takeshi Kobayashi, who has been an important figure in the tuning community overseas for the past decade, commands a sense of appreciation. People go to his event because they have a lot of respect for what he does and what he has done over the years. It isn’t one of those meets or shows where people just go because of the hype and/or because everyone else is going to it, often times with little understanding of what the event stands for. You can tell that this event has a very chill vibe and the enthusiasts there are of an older demographic that care very little for what is currently trending…
Today you’re going to see another large batch of photos from the event, shot by Shota Mori. As always, he’s done a terrific job and I can’t help but commend him for running around all day to capture these photos. It’s not easy shooting in this type of weather and risking your equipment in the process. Thank you to him once again…

Zenki S14 Silvia looking nice and simple with a USDM front bumper and SE front lip, Nismo LMGT4 wheels, and a set of Ganador Super Mirrors…
This EG Civic hatchback was rolling around at Kday! at this extremely low, static, height which probably left people wondering how it was even possible for him to go anywhere…
If you’re a 80s-90s era Honda fanatic in Japan, Kday! seems to be THE place to hang out at…

The surprise guest this year for the Kday! C6 event was none other than famed Japanese Honda tuning company, Spoon Sports. The guys from Spoon brought out a display booth as well as their legendary E-AT Civic race car…
USDM Acura 3.2 CL lowered on Rotiform wheels…
Lovely set-up on this Honda Accord Wagon re-imagined to look like a modded USDM Acura TSX Wagon…

I feel like I’ve seen this AT Civic so often now in both Tokyo and here in the U.S. Good to see it out for the Kday! event so everyone there can enjoy it. Though Spoon Sports is based in Tokyo, I don’t believe too many Japanese enthusiasts visit the shop often so they don’t ever get to see stuff like this…
The TPK crew has some of the best Hondas in that region, probably even throughout Japan when you consider how timeless their builds are. Leading the line-up this year was Takahiro Hasegawa and his Mugen Integra Type R…
Hideo Shingu’s ITR is looking as good as it ever has with the Mugen front lip and sideskirts installed. Also check-out the rare Mugen headlight garnishes…
Kei Ootsuka’s Mugen DA Integra XSi on custom Mugen CF-48 wheels with refinished Aero Disks…
Takeshi’s wife working through the pouring rain to make sure everyone got their hand stamps and were parked in the correct areas…

AP2 S2000 wearing a Powerhouse Amuse Legalo Face front bumper and Mugen hardtop…
Appropriate that a car on classic 3-piece Work Meister S1 wheels is parked right in front of the Work Wheels Japan booth…
Too bad it was raining like crazy because it would have been really cool to show you guys the completely shaven and tucked engine bay of Norifumi Kobayashi’s Accord Wagon. For 2016, he completely redid his entire car, doing the full USDM TSX conversion outside and then repainting the entire car in red. Those wheels that look like aggressive 3-piece Mugen M7 wheels are actually USDM Arcane Legend wheels…
Hopefully the soft-top on this Spoon Sports-themed S2000 was able to hold off the downpour. This AP2 also features a Voltex swan-neck rear spoiler and Enkei RS05RR wheels…
Kday! even featured a nice collection of modified Toyota pick-up trucks, both Japanese and USDM chassis models…
Custom centerlock Mugen wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan rubber…
Takeru Tojo from L2P taking in the Spoon Sports AT Civic. He’s probably one of the biggest Honda fanatics I’ve ever met and I don’t know too many people who appreciate Hondas more…
USDM 240SX and JDM 180SX Type-X…
Nice wheel finish on this USDM TSX-styled Honda Accord…
RA Odyssey on Work Carving Head 40s and a bagged LHD USDM CL9 TSX which, ironically, is wearing a JDM Accord front grille…
DB1 Integra sedan imported from the U.S. running a simple carbon JDP front lip and Weld Racing Wheels as daily cruising wheels…
Satoshi Adachi’s EF9 from Akebono USDM on old school Rays mesh wheels complete with caps…
Ryousuke Takahashi’s familiar two-toned EF8 CR-X SiR on Garson Deep Racing Ryuji wheels…
Don’t see a CR-X too often with a blue/silver two-tone and tan interior. This slammed EF7 on Mugen MR5 belongs to Satoshi Aizawa from Akebono USDM…
As you can see, the rain didn’t let-up at all and it stayed steady throughout the day. Stay tuned for more coverage of the 2016 Kday! C6 event…
