We’re off to Osaka! After completing our adventures in Tokyo and finishing off a car-free day of just shopping and eating, it was time for us to head off on the Shinkansen to Osaka. We set-out to find more car stuff that many wouldn’t be exposed to or have seen before so our friend Yasu was nice enough to take us over to a shop in Osaka known simply as “CHARGE” or Charge Tatsumi Eng. They have a long history of building great cars for many Honda and Toyota one-make races over the past few decades but now serving primarily as a body shop. They still do complete car builds and overhauls for very specific clientele but some of the cars lurking inside their facilities are their own personal projects, some which have been sitting for decades! We thought that there wouldn’t be much to see at Charge until we spotted a hidden gem tucked tightly away in the back of their shop. We chat with the owner and he gives us some unique history on his retired race car…
