It’s a little crazy to think that in 2019, there is a new FWD record-holder at the legendary Tsukuba Circuit—and the driver isn’t Japanese…and isn’t even from Japan. Well, it has happened, and I’m happy to say that I was there to witness it. Being a bit of a traditional guy, especially when it comes to Japanese car culture, I hold a lot of things sacred. If it were up to me, I guess you’d say that I’d prefer that record to be upheld by a famed driver like Nobuteru Taniguchi, but our community has become so intertwined and globally-recognized that it isn’t even a surprise that this day would come.
