The morning after the HRC event I helped host, it was immediately off to Lake Elsinore for the 20th anniversary of The Honda Meet. This event was a pretty big part of The Chronicles in its early years. A bulk of my photo coverage came from this event but during the last ten years or so, I haven’t been able to attend because I was always in Japan. They moved The Honda Meet to an earlier date this year so I was able to bring some cars out and set up a booth. Chuy was debuting his Integra Type R for the first-time publicly and I found some time to pull my EK9 out of BOWLS where it had been on display the last 4 months. Being that it was the 20th anniversary, all the older enthusiasts from yesteryear decided to have a reunion as well. This included many of the drag racers from the 90s to early 2000s and though these guys are older now, the competitive spirit still burns hot and made for some fun banter. I don’t know why it had to happen at my booth but it sounded like a fight was about to break out like every few minutes! I don’t even know what they were even arguing about, but it made for an fun afternoon!
