Ahh, finally…Happy Monday folks. I’ve been waiting to put these up for awhile ever since Ka Wong’s feature came out in last month’s Super Street magazine. As you guys have probably heard me talk about a million times now, I shot this Corolla a couple months back and out of everything I’ve done since I started doing this photography thing, this is my current favorite. Just everything about the car was so easy to shoot and the car just popped. No matter what setting you put it in, this car absolutely shines. I couldn’t have been happier with the result and I think Ka Wong himself has been waiting to see these pics. You probably don’t know of him because he’s one of those guys that just keeps to himself. He has an EVO as well but he generally keeps to the same crowd. He may have an S2000 motor in his Corolla but Hondas aren’t really his flavor, if you know what I mean. It’s all good though because working for a magazine like Super Street has helped to expand my horizons and I’ve had the opportunity to meet all kinds of different people and see all kinds of different things. I first spotted this AE86 at Nisei Showoff as I watched it drive in and I absolutely fell in love with it. When Jonathan Wong assigned me to shoot it, I was stoked! I usually have an extra person with me like Big Mike to help me out during shoots but on this particular day, I was by myself and I even managed to give Ka the wrong directions and he called me and asked me why we were shooting in front of some guy’s house, haha. It’ll all worked out in the end though and other than one of the Alien Bee flashes getting smashed on the floor, it was an easy day. I have to thank Ka Wong for being super helpful that day too because he was helping me move things around since I didn’t have any help. He’s definitely a chill guy who’s way more nice than he has to be. He actually owns an L&L BBQ and even hooked me up with catering my BBQ I had a month ago. Anyways, enough talking, more with the pics.
